And it was not his own strenght who did it, he just push some statues.

Sephiroth did not want to destroy the planet because Jenova told him that, he intended to absorb the life energy that the planet would have gathered to heal the wound.

@Samael15exe I'd have to disagree with that on the point that while Sephiroth does indeed destroy the solar system during his Supernova attack animation, that's all it is, just an attack animation. Kefka, on the other hand, during the course of the story, actually became the God of all Magic, and brought about a definitive apocalypse, Sephiroth tried to instigate one, but ultimately failed due to being killed during the final battle, which allowed holy to counteract meteor.
