Really? Why don't you show where deaths have been reduced because of seat belts? The same thing was said about ABS, deaths increased in autos with ABS because people had a false sense of security. As discussed earlier in the thread(yesterday), this is my problem with NI.
"After this election, seeing how ignorant the US populace is, how could anybody think Gravel's National Initiative would do anything but empower the media corporations. All they would have to do is tell the people how to vote, and all of a sudden you have a country where the MSM is more powerful than the three branches of Gov't."
And I constantly research, I wish others did.

Good point however if you did the research and listened fully to the plans MG has had in initiating NI4D you would know that he himself would appoint a team that would inform the public on every issue, in depth. Leaving no room for Corp or media manipulation. Through direct public addresses, official websites and materials to design and inform on every issue. Just as other states that have this for of governance. Calling out those who misinform and attempt to manipulate, will be prosecuted.

MG knows more than anyone and has experienced more than any other candidate the power that the media and Corps have over this country and has called them out but what news/media source would put that out there for you to see!?! The fact that you and others know so little about MG is a direct result of the very problems that you describe in your argument. MG HAS A PLAN. Period. He plans on abolishing the IRS not asking the people if they want to vote on it. Same goes for all of HIS plans

The NI4D gives the people the power to make laws and be involved in their own government. NOT leaving it up to the media or Corps to manipulate. It is meant for the people 100% and it will take the people to enact it. When was the last time you have been asked to be counted? When you vote?! Please, that is the extent of the power of the people of this country. You leave the rest up to elected officials, Corps, Wall street, the media and the military to decide what's best for us. No more

I can't agree with you on NI, the MSM would have too much sway on the process.
I can agree with you that Mike Gravel, like Ron Paul, has been shut out of the media. With Obama/Hillary tied because people can't tell them apart. It's sad more Dems don't look at Gravel. He's definately the best Dem in the race.

Okay, great point. Your concern is that, under NI4D, Joe Schmoe redneck could draw up and pass a law that legally allows him to shoot at his neighbor from his kitchen window if he wants to. Or that the media or BIG corps can spin so that it gets enacted. NI4D specifically states many ways in which it would never even make it to inception. It specifically outlaws monies in initiative elections not from natural persons. Itself a direct path to the initiative and facts therein. MSM has no weight

If we as a nation were allowed to vote to make laws, we;d end the war, we'd get off of gasoline, we'd end the IRS, we'd cut the military budget in half...None of this will EVER happen under the representative government we live under because they are OWNED lock stock and barrel by the very corporations that are causing the war.

RP will publicly step out of the presidential race because his concern now is to remain congressman of Texas. RP is one man and president or not its not about him, it's about all of us. Supporting Mike Gravel is continuing the cause. RP supporters need to begin to see that and stop separating the two. Your person beliefs and thinking "I want my man to WIN" is absurd. It's not about that its bigger than such a petty concern. What will you do when RP steps out? Who will you support?

So Ron doesn't accept the congress pension, gives back something from his budget every year, lobbyist don't even bother...if he's looking for a win fall, he would take all the goodies that's offered to him. You are wrong. This is being spread by those who would like us to give up and stop the fight. Ron Paul is dedicated. He would never give up on what he believes in even if the elections don't turn out in his favor, he will still be a champion of the people. What he is saying is he can't do it alone so don't rely just on him. We have to be brave enough to stand up for our own rights as well.
There is strength in numbers. They may be able to stop one man or a few, but they cant stop us all.

I just love when youtube freezes my view count to trick people into not watching it. here comments are flowing in and ratings and its being favorited more and more but yet the number has sat at 301 for nearly 24 hours now. fucking commies at google have totally ruined youtube.

Bush stated he would not endorse until a nominee was selected. Bush endorsed McCain. Ergo, a Republican nominee for President has been selected. Therefor R.P.(a die-hard Republican) is out of that race whether he or his supporters like it or not.
