Hey sweet job but i have a few pointers! AC/DC played down one half step a lot with Bon (it makes it easier to sing). This song is not an exception. Tune down a half step, the progression is open A, B, C, D, then one more step up to an a shaped E power cord. Also on Malcolm's solo at the beginning (yes its Malcolm! i dont know of any others solos he plays) listen to the phrasing. I couldn't tell is you changed it intentionally though, your other blues fills were sick so i'm not sure haha.
looks more like a 61 reissue to me. Simply because there the only SG's I know of that come standard with that kind of pickguard anymore. But I'm not completely positive.
Your probably on the right track Matt, with a mic at the cabinet, but remember that you have been sounding suitable with your usual setup, you've just been outplaying your backing. I'm naturally the type of person that grabs things at hand and tries to develop something that functions without spending money, but every once in a while I have to give in. It's totally up to you. I want you to be happy and keep your money in your pocket. Still try to find that manual.
I can't find that damn manual anywhere!lol. Well I have been messing around with recording my guitar for about an hour now. Still trying to get the right sound. Thanks for all of your help Laser!!!
I wouldn't spend money too quickly on things that have been working already. My Crate takes 2 RCA plugs in, but then it mixes that right and left inside the cabinet. Yours might do the same, but with a 1/4" plug instead. That would be in the manual. I'm also driving my Crate CD In with the headphone out of a 300 Watt stereo, so I have a considerable amount of drive and the whole sound would get me evicted very quickly. I think that your answer will be in the manual.
From what your saying, it sounds like your having a problem going from stereo to mono, and the Marshall might be capable itself of converting at it's input, so you might can go stereo to stereo with no problem. Thats why we needed the entire manual. your Ipod might not have the power to drive the Marshall hard enough, you control the output of music from the marshall with the volume on the Ipod, and you might also need to adjust mic volume on computer in audio properties.
Well the volume of the Ipod can go VERY high with the main volume at the same levle. The only problem is that the mic seems to be picking up the guitars frequency ALOT more than the music. I'm also going to try and change the mics direction on the the camera. Oh and I'm not recording with my computer at all, just with a little camera.
Yup. And I'm useing a PC but recording with a crappy camera. See the problem is that the camera I have right now is not compatible with the editing software I have. So I am going to buy one that is. Then mic my amp and mix it down to the levle of the music and put it all together. You know what I meen?
That Strat leaning on the couch looks so jealous!
Tell him to loose that irritating volume control located right underneath the dam bridge pick-up like a logical instrument and maybe it might it get some playing time!
Great song, great cover! About the music being low... I like it when guitar covers are recorded at higher volume than backing music so we can hear the actual cover clearly. Personnally I record like that, on purpose.
OK, I understand now. I just tried to find a contact number for Marshall so that I could have a discussion with them about the specifics of the input, but I can't find one. It is obviously not the entire manual on their web site, and it's not specific about plug types. I was thinking that possibly a guitar main line from cd in to an adapter at the music source to change size and switch from stereo to mono. If you have complete manual, it might have a better explanation of what you need...Laser~
Hello Laser. I did plug my music into the amp..it sounded great(mixed down=D) Only problem is is that it sounds HORRIBLE on the camera. You can't even hear the music. I just really need to mic it straight into the computer and get a new camera.
Hi Matt just woke up, again. Does it actually sound better and balanced with your guitar to your ears? Can you hear both left and right parts comming through your cabinet and does the marshall get as loud as it does without the mix?....Laser~
Yes it does sound balanced to my ears. I can hear mostly the left channle..the right is very faint and the marshall does get to the same loudness. And the cable is not near the cameras mic. I have an Ipod connected to the amp across the room from the camera.
I've never played around with Ipod, but I assume it is personal stereo with headphone out. Sounds like your adapter is not a converter from stereo-mono going to mainline. Thats why your losing the right channel. You mentioned "mixed down", can you be more specific? also have you pulled out the cd line from the marshall and left all controls alone and played to the mic?
Hi Matt, the song is way down under your volume, and you mentioned the quality is the worst it has ever been, don't understand, your playing or the song? Have you found a cable yet? A couple of missed notes, but the rest sounded pretty good...Laser~
Yes the song is wayyy to under my guitars volume. The the quality of the video..as in how it came out(not clear) I haven't found a cable yet but I plan on lookin more around some stores this weekend. Thanks Laser;)

Hmm. At the main riff (0:35) you should play the last note as a pull-off. Angus uses them quite frequently, and it will sounds so much smoother.
Nice guitar though. Is that another version of the Special Faded, or just the Standard with faded paint?

It is actually a 61' reissue, but with a weird finish. There are only 400 of them made if I remeber correctly. Great guitar:-)
