Compare N900 or N8 with iphone 4. It totaly looses. 5800 was nokia's initial touch phone. and the new firmware v51 comes with no lag, almost smooth browsing with flash, much faster speed, and now there are 1000's of apps for s60v5. just search what you want.

OK lets make something clear! I've bought a nokia 5800 because I just to be a nokia boy! I was happy with it until I understand one important thing! I paid for WiFi and 3G internet to get the worst browser in the word! Its slow and displays "Memory full close applications" (believe me I know how to close apps) it ruins the phone interface! The music on nokia is the best and the speakers are crisp but still in the end I sold it and got iphone...

I've been using the Nokia 5800 for over a year now, and although it is good, i am replacing it with an iPhone when my contract is over. There is a simple reason for this - i want an iPod touch and a new phone, so it makes sense. I've also experienced a few problems with the nokia, at more than a few points it has frozen on me and at one point it stopped working all together. Also, at one poin the battery went from 6 bars to one in a second. Its not all smooth sailing with it!

Li-Ion batteries with "fuel gauge" tend do that if you don't let the battery fully discharge once in a while to "reset". It is not a problem with Nokia, but a problem with the Li-Ion techonology itself.

Anyways, iPhone is a great phone, especially for people who don't want to tweak everything themselves and just want things to work. I'm sure you're going to be happy with one, just don't expect it to never freeze, either.

i got an unlocked 5800 and couldn't be happier. It worked right out of the box was browsing the internet, downloading music pictures without even using any software. Just plugging in usb adapter its very simple to use.

Its a great phone I highly recommend it.

No, the browser is different. The experience is also different due to the multi-touch on the iPhone. The 5800 symbian browser is still nice, just different from the iPhone. I like both types.

G1 - Dodgy Bluetooth, Extremly bad battery (Even worse after cupcake update). No tv out.

As for the 5800 i dont have it yet but every nokia phone i have had i never ever had any problem or regrets. Loved the N95 and N96 so dont see no reason for me not to like the Express.

G1 Cupcake or not, Nothing really changed in cupcake. i tried all versions Developer UK and US, and Australian.

As for Iphone 3g 16gb, i had that also, i loved it but hated it. I liked the touchscreen interface. On the G1 i loved the keyboard. Next week im getting the 5800 Express.
