@SaiMoNx8 You don't get it because you don't understand we all have different opinions and preferences.

I always use third person in street racing games because you need to be more aware of your surroundings compared to simulators. There's traffic, random obstacles, and usually aggressive AI.

In simulators I use first person to get finer, more delicate control over the car. Simulators are much less random, so you can focus on just driving well more.

Why use one when both have advantages?

@DoubleG441 No, the last real Need For Speed was Hot Pursuit 2 in 2002. After that they went the tuner route and it all went crazy. The games have been getting better recently (like the Hot Pursuit remake) but none of them really captured the magic of all the NFS games released prior to 2002.

@Richardjohn88 Last real game? It marked the point where NFS abandoned its old fanbase and its supercar roots for the F&F crowd. Doesn't get any less real than that. It's rather sad when Test Drive Unlimited feels more like classic NFS than actual NFS games.

That being said, I love the more recent NFS games like Shift and Hot Pursuit 2010. They may not be the same as the 90s NFS games, but I feel like the series is back on track again.

This is how I think the stories go: the player (you) start out in Underground 1 as a rookie street racer who eventually beats the best. In Underground 2, the player was still the best and got wrecked by Caleb. He then went to Bayview and conquered all the races there. Next, he went to Palmont and met Darius, Nikki etc. and then the whole flashback takes place (00:27 -2:30). He ditches/sells the Supra and gets the M3 and goes to Rockport. Then Most Wanted happened, where Carbon then follows on.

@evilgamers1 You don't get it back because the M3 is totalled in the crash at the start. But since there's no damage modeling in this game aside from scratched paint and broken windows, most people miss that.

Secondly, perhaps your character lost the Supra in a pinkslip challenge or wrecked it off screen? With how often your character loses cars it's not hard to picture that happening.

Need for Speed carbon, was like a weak continue of Most Wanted. You got your car, but nothing more. I believe you took of from Rockport City and escaped to Carbon city. You lose your car, get a boss/master, race for him. Then when there's nothing more to challenge, you start to beat your own chef. You win and that's the end. (in my opinion) I wish they could make another one, maybe called; The Blacklist or... well... idk. Thumbs up if you think the same
