This loc basically never realy went out of service up for scrap! Hence its good condition.
After WWII it served until the 70'ies in Austria hauling freight.
After major overhaul it went almost streight in to strategic reserve. When these loc reserves where terminated, this loc went to museum line service, first in Austria, after a few years to The Netherlands, SSN, thereafter VSM.
Most likely during its life in Austria and cerainly early service in The Netherlands, it was black.
As far as I can track down, in the 90'ies it was aigain painted in most likely its original delivery color: Whermachtgrau (army gray).
Note it never had a rebuild like most DDR 52's, so it is in original 'alt-bau' state, therefore a very authentic look compared to the modernized BR 52 Kriegloks.
Research done: No, that is a different type of loc in that movie. Nice old movie though :)

Thanks for those informations, Baureihe06!
Did this loco remained in the Netherlands after the war or did this locomotive-club fetched it from somewhere else?

Nice Video. Amazing loco. 5*****!
Where do they have got this loco from?
Is it one, that remained in Western Europe or is it one from Poland?
megatwingo 2 years ago
Remained in Western Europe after WWII. This one actually is constructed in Austria, they say.
It is now in Dutch possesion. Actually lot of Germans come over here to see a great collection of their former steamlocs riding :).
All Dutch steamlocs are scrapped :(
But these German ones are very nice
