Ever considered taking up weaving? I've heard that weaving using heavier yarns, or doubling thinner yarns eats up stashes of yarn very quickly. Maybe make a bed quilt or chair throw out of a variety of yarns - then you can admire and use them at the same time!
I do the same thing with other things I buy. Oohh, cool! I want that! Then put it away and hardly look at it, until I see something else that I "need" lol
It's hard to do any stitches with a stretch. One way is to crochet in the opposite direction. Like going left to right instead of up and down. So when you are done, all the rows are sideways. Crocheting stretches from top to bottom.
For hats a good one is is the shell stitch, I would say. It's what I use for the brims.
haha. I know the feeling ;-) I've decided to stock mine by what I think I will make out of it... then by weight and then color. But the stash is growing quickly. Too bad I'm still in university or it might be bigger and my room would be larger!

I feel the same way! Yarn is taking over, but I like it so why not surround myself with it.

You could also use a larger sized needle then what you worked with in the brim and that should make it stretchy , hope that helps.

can you make a baby blanket using single stitcn? Mine is curving at the end.I mean it is beccoming rounded.
missannekol1 4 years ago
Is you can! I'm assuming you mean with crochet.
If it is slowly rounding, it probably means that you are accidentally decreasing each row.
