wow. this is lame. you talk crap about rednecks with guns but show caged animals being attacked by dogs? your trying to take a stance on something but have no clear lines drawn. i agree with you about the awsomeness of hunting dogs but not really sure what kind of other crappy point your trying to get across. and basically ALL dogs are mixed breeds. even so called pure breds. they have all been mixed to acheive a look invisioned by the breeder.
@2012IrishMan when i was younger there was no more loyal, ferocious and dependable guard dog than an Akita..they were fearsome too, but great with their owners of course. Believe they used them on bears in Japan . Rarely see them 'downunder' now and the ones that are here bear little resemblance to the big boys of the 80's
@MrSurfmaniac - I agree!!! And get ride of the RR lure coursing. Get rid of all the pig dogs with body armor. If a dog can't hunt natural then don't use it. Get rid of pig and cougar being attacked in a caged area. NOT HUNTING.
@DogSoldier011 All dogs are mix breeds after all, some mixes are just more common and more predictible than others. Mix breeds have better health but many times they may look rather weird if they are a mix of two breeds that just dont fit together.. but there are also amazingly beautiful mix breeds that look much cooler than pure breeds and there are many same breed dog in your hometown :) Ofcourse, when it comes to hunting, the look of the dog makes no difference, but qualities and abilities.

If I'm not mistaken after approximately 8 generations of selective breeding (culling) dogs like most animals are considered a breed. Some of the breeds depicted in this "slide show" were Rhodesian Ridge-backs (South African Lion Dogs)...
@DogSoldier011 true. A stray dog was in the yard one mornin. She is big like a great dane, muscled up like a pitbull, got a huge hound dog bawl, got the head of a boxer, but long haired. Turned her into the best hog dog i ever seen. We got her checked out at the vet they said she was healthy no health problems. We bred her to a blue heeler/ blk mouth cur/pitbull/ doberman/bloodhound/bluetick/ golden retreiver mix. (lots of dogs in one haha) pups are best hog/coon/bear dogs in SC!
@DogSoldier011 doubt it, can you keep a secret? If so, I'll message it to you and you can use it! But you can't tell anyone what breeds you used, understand? I have the whole standard written, I call it the "Hancock Field Dog" off of my last name.

@DogSoldier011 wait sorry i forgot to add ridgeback, yea genuinaley u wud think that but my mate has a couple & he said there the best pigging dog hes had except wen running them in cane, so i agree with u a lil bit.
@AuzzieGamer1 bull arab's are great some breeders often corss them with mastiffs to make them heavy. but slow.bull arabs hunters that are short and stocky & a little heavy do just fine in hunting,

i think the ultmiate hunting dog is a mixed breed. coat temperment eageness willing to please type of dog, thats hard to hurt and very agile :)
