  • Thank you for all your comments. I kinda laugh a little at the ones who suggest better camera and video editing, I filmed this when I was seventeen, it was the first time I've ever filmed anything in my life. I wanted to capture was the aspect of worship that Phil led us into that day. I have to honestly till you that I stopped filming after this song because God's presence was so thick in the room that no more taping was necessary. Thank you again for those who were blessed by this video

  • This song is incredible!!!!!..A timeless gem....

  • Finally someone gets it! Yes! Keep loving Him and sharing your beautiful expression of your love for our Beautiful Savior, LORD, and Friend!! Yay Phil~!

  • Finally someone gets it! Yes! Keep loving Him and sharing your beautiful expression of your love Phil!!!

  • Beautiful words, beautiful voice, and a beautiful LORD

  • You have to be retarded if you dont think this guy can sing! Hes the best in the business! And not to mention his anointing!

  • Word of advice to all youtubers who put up vids like this one (from someone who has studied film and arts):

    1. One camera = One zoom setting. Don't zoom in and out, it looks bad, and it is distracting

  • @Spenceheart 2. Epic moments are best kept with close ups, so stay in nice tight shots, especially if Phil is the only one performing/singing. It is more intimate this way. Think of any major film when they have dialouge between two main characters that have importance to it. As the conversation goes along, and more vulnerability is revealed, the only thing you see on screen by the end of the scene is just the actor's faces.

  • @Spenceheart 3. When the singer flows immediatly into another song, upload both songs on one vid, that way the mood isn't interrupted by the sudden ending.

    4. FADE OUT THE VOLUME at the end of the vid so the sound doesn't just suddenly stop, this includes the ambiant sound of the room you're recording in.

    5. THANK YOU for uploading this vid, it has been a blessing, along with so many great performances captured of Phil Wickham's genius voice.

  • What a great song and what a great voice...Truly a blessing!

  • Most comments on this video are dumb.

  • Just heard this on AIR1

    Love it...

    Thanks...

    ;0)

  • Lol...I've heard people sing who can't sing and have a large fan base, never mentioning the lord and they say the person can sing. Phil Wickham mentions God in his songs as true worship music for all, and people say he can't sing? I've made my point. Continue ministering to everyone Phil!

God bless you and everyone who truly seeks the lord god's face!

  • Gods love for us is "sappy" Its romantic, is overwhelming. and its the most beautiful thing we can experience!

  • All of you, would DIE for his voice. But hey Jesus DIED for you. Isn't that all that matters?

  • This woman is very talented.

  • @seanpaynedotnet - not kool not kool, phil is a guy name hello

    1John 4:18

  • Thank you Phil!!! I heard you sing this last week at Maranatha Chapel ~ stunningly beautifull! What a gift you have been given to share ~ Blessings and Strength to continue to share the way you do! Glen in RB

  • Phil, you rock our world with this song. Seeing you live was AWESOME!

  • As Christians, we must have a Divine Romance with God! And love Him for He has loved us! Love this song, SO much!

  • Ha ha... It is pretty hard to appreciate his work without appreciating God's work. In fact it is impossible because God made him and gave him those talents.

  • ME!!!!

  • This song is GORGEOUS !!!

  • Hey! i was at this! i loved it

  • who cares? God loves everyone, christian or not. I agree we must love God back, there are consequences. but I focus on God's dinvine romance for my heart that he persues. That to me is what I love about my God. He persues everyone of us. Christian or not.

  • i love god soooo much

  • whoever call to His name shall be save ........ like this oh Lord Jesus...everyday..

  • ArmorAll86....God is my girlfriend.

  • I like this we all love God so much we r willing to argue over this one song

  • Such and awesome song!

  • The bible says not to argue such trivial matters such as these. They only bring division in the church. Especially if you are arguing to prove yourself correct and not to lovingly lift up a brother or sister in christ. God Bless.

  • these lyrics are beautiful

  • If you believe that God cannot/does not use men like Phil Wickham, who apparently tries to "woo" people by his lovable voice & sexy hair, go look up Mike Guglielmucci, and listen to his song "Healer" if you haven't already heard it. Perfect example of God using a man while he was STILL CAUGHT in the darkest depths of his sin. God used him to write a song that touched and continues to touch the lives of millions around the world through its humble honesty. What a testament to the character of God

  • Yes, worship has nothing to do with us. But that doesn't mean that we aren't affected by it physically, emotionally & spiritually. When the Holy Spirit rushes over me during times of praise & thanksgiving, my heart races, my emotions are peaked, and I feel my spirit catching just a glimpse of the majesty and intimacy of our Father. But emotions & spiritual strengthening are simply results of the experience. They're gifts, not goals to be sought after, whether through contemporary songs or hymns.

  • You also seem convinced that you can look into Phil Wickham's heart here and know whether his heart is actually worshipping God or if he's simply putting on a show. I guess in your position, it's just safer to downplay anything that you suspect of superficiality. But the real truth is that you have no idea. None of us do. But the important thing is whether or not we can get past our own judgments to get to experience God in the midst of the music, whether hymn or contemporary, doesn't matter.

  • And what did Jesus say to John? "Do not stop him...He who is not against us is for us." [Mark 9 : 39-40] Again, I hope I'm wrong, but it sounds like you hold little tolerance for any form of worship that doesn't fit in line with what you see it as. Forgive me, but music is at the core of the person God created me as, so much of this life that I'm seeking to live as an act of worship is spent in some form of music, and this song is just one of the tools God uses to speak to me, & no doubt others.

  • And yeah, it's wrong to focus on the worshiper instead of the One being worshiped. But we are human after all. We simply have to become accustomed to catching ourselves before we take the worshiper and replace the One who is to be worshipped. I hope I'm wrong, but you remind me of the disciple John who came to Jesus because he heard someone driving out demons in Jesus's name, & he told him to stop b/c he wasn't "one of them." Again, your focus is on the worshipper, not the one to be worshipped.

  • Wow, its kind of disturbing to hear how infatuated everyone is with this guy. You don't hear things like that said or written about some of the great hymn writer of old, well I guess it was because they were more concerned about being theologically accurate than having a lovable voice, or "hot" hair. People worship is not about you, or how it makes you "feel", its about God. How does God feel about our worship to Him, does it honor Him?

  • Maybe it's because all the great hymn writers of old are dead. You don;'t actually know what people said or thought about them. Most of those comments are made by kids - why not give em a chance to grow up rather than criticise? ...also worship is about communion with God - Yeah it's about God but how we feel is part of it too! :D Hope that come across alright! God bless.

    Great songs!

  • The old hymn writers would not have tolerated this kind of talk about them. Well only one comment I saw was by a kid, regardless, kids and adults should both grow up and realize what it means to worship God. Romans 12:1 to present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is you spiritual worship. "Holy" means to separate, to be different, to be pure of thought, word and deed. Worship is glorifying God, not singing sappy songs that make us feel warm and fuzzy.

  • Sorry, ArmorAll, but I have to disagree with you here. While you have a point in the "commercialization" of contemporary Christian music nowadays, I doubt the old hymn writers would have been intolerant toward "this kind of talk about them." If they got pissed because of what was said about them, then their focus would not be on God, but on themselves & how they're being perceived. So let's not be so quick to project our own feelings on the old hymn writers as if they would feel the same. Thanks

  • I think you are right by the fact of our Worship should be all for God. Our purpose in life is to worship God. Not just with music but with our whole life. Yes worship leaders should study the word more than they write, just like the rest of us. Daily we should be in the word. I also think that Phil Whickam has amazing lyrics. Its really uplifting to me. I really like the sound too so it is good in both ways. I think people shoudl not judge people from the outside. The inside is what matters.

  • ive met phil before, and theres no doubt about it that he is in the right place with God, people aren't infatuated with him because of his looks, its because of his talent musically. I sincerely believe that he has the best voice in worship music today.

  • That is the point, you and many others rave about talented musically he is, (which he isn't anything special) and how great his voice is. Lyrical content is far more important than musical talent and voice. Song writers should spend even more time studying the Word and theology when writing as song, then a pastor does preparing a sermon. Nobody seems to take worship serious and realize the worship leader also will be held under more condemnation as preachers and teachers of the Word will be.

  • hold on there buddy, first off if you say that his voice isn't anything special you sir are deaf. Now its not like phils lyrics have no connection with praising God. I very much disagree about your idea of worship leaders having to spend more time and effort than a pastor should. A worship leaders role is not to teach, furthermore each and every other person has there own relationship with God. There is no set time in which they must "STUDY" to do what they are called to do.

  • First off I didn't say his voice wasn't special, his music isn't. But not that you mention it, the sensuality in his voice is creep. Oh, sir but you are wrong worship leaders do teach, most people get there theology from music and not preaching or the Bible. Yes, we do have personal relationships with God, but they WILL NOT contradict scripture. God is specific on how we are to worship Him, He is holy and we must come humbly be for His Throne of Grace. "Fools rush in where angels fear to tread"

  • then would you care to point out the scripture for me that says worship leaders must study more than pastors? worship isnt just in music my friend, there is no set way in which we have to worship God.

  • Well I would ask you to point out a verse that says we are to have worship leaders. And the verses I would use to support my position would be found throughout 1-2 Timothy and also Titus, when Paul gives the qualifications for being an elder, and how elders are to be sound in doctrine and are to study to show themselves approved.

  • thats about being a leader, it doesnt say this man must study more than this man FOr he is in this position.

  • Actually, we are all worship leaders. For you to hold anyone in higher esteem and value than anyone else in the church is actually a sin. And sound theology won't save you from being cast away from Him when His judgment comes. You'll be judged upon whether or not you engaged in a lasting relationship with Him. Your knowledge & understanding of the Scriptures should be a PRODUCT of your life of worship. Having sound theology doesn't mean you have a relationship. It just means you read the manual.

  • You wont be cast away from him at judgement. Nothing can separate us from the love of Jesus Christ. Jesus paid for our sins on the cross. Ephesians 2:8-10 say that its not by works that we are saved, but by grace, it's the GIFT of God, no one can take it away, not even the sin you do. Now - verse 10 says that we are God's workmanship created to DO good works. we SHOULD do good works, but don't go around telling people they can be cast away from him at judgement, else Jesus died vain.

  • @neomikel (this will probably take two posts): You're right, and to clarify what I meant in my post that starts "we are all worship leaders," the people I'm talking about being cast away from Him are those who cry "Lord, Lord!" and have fooled themselves into thinking their "sound theology" and Biblical knowledge will save them, but they'll be turned away because they thought all they had to do was read the manual and not act on the commands He put in there for us to engage in the present.

  • (pt2@neomikel): I'm not some "fire & brimstone" apocalyptic kook. But the group I'm addressing here is made up of those people who, like the older brother of the prodigal son, believed that their knowledge of the Father meant they had a relationship with Him, which of course is false. So my question ultimately is this: Which group will you fall under? Those who realize their inadequacy & come back to Him as a humble child? Or those who flaunt their misguided "understanding" of Him?

  • Yeah I believe you have a relationship with Jesus Christ - after you are saved of course.

  • And I agree. The relationship starts when you are "saved," but even taking a cue from this song itself, the relationship is a "divine romance." There is no significant relationship if you and the Lover of your soul meet once (when you are "saved") & you never speak to Him again. The "saved" you're referring to is not after one instance of saying a prayer; the one who is truly saved knows it because they live that truth out throughout the rest of their lives, not just one instance or once a week.

  • I truly envy those who can point to one moment in their lives when they became "saved," but the truth for me is that the only time when someone can say whether they were saved or not is at the end of their life, when they can look back and see how they lived their lives. The question is not "Did you say a special prayer or not?". The question is "Did you engage your relationship with the Father throughout the whole of your life? Or did you simply sit on the sidelines waiting for heaven to come?"

  • Your implying that Phil doesn't write his lyrics on biblical truth and through what he's read during his own personal bible studies. That i would say is very ignorant, because if you listen to him you can tell how God inspired he is

  • I didn't say that there isn't Biblical Truth in some of his songs. What I was saying is that his lyrics and style seem irreverent and sappy, like he is singing to his girlfriend, and not to a Holy God whom we are to fear! Even heretics like Benny Hinn, Doug Pagitt, Bring Mclarean, Todd Bently, etc, have some truths from the Bible. Doesn't mean we should listen to them.

  • Speaking of Biblical AND Irreverant....Check out Samuel 6:16-23.

    Oh wait....

ArmorAll86 There are many forms of worship, some deeply unique and personal. If sappy means that Phil is loving God in his own unique way then I say continue to be sappy Phil! Who are you to judge whether someone else's worship is good or bad?

Where is your biblical reference to this "sappiness" you speak of?

Answer: no where to be found.

  • Disciple him, don't put him down like that. That's the problem with everything, everyone's out to prove a point. Make your stand and with biblical reference, but do it out of love not anger.

"Man's anger does not bring about the righteous life that God desires" (James 1:20)

I am not here to argue, I just want you to understand that we should disciple and be loving one another.

  • It's his voice. If you have something wrong with the voice God gave him, then take it up with God. Who are you to judge his voice. He has passion, what you call "sappy," in his singing which is more than I can say for many Christian bands today. How does he sound irreverent? He loves God with his whole heart and that's what I hear when he sings. I hear no irreverence anywhere in this song.

  • If people get there "theology" as you call it from music other than from the word, then that is not biblical. God says we should put him first and listen to his word above all. Now what i'm not saying is that you can't learn from a song, but it isn't God's heart speaking, it usually the persons heart and what they believe about God's word. Which isn't! infallible..

  • I agree with how infatuated people are with his voice and the way he look and plays music. I believe people should listen to music they like becuase lyrically it lines up with scriptures. Honestly we need to honor God through all that we do, say, and listen to. I think that David wrote songs from His heart and the situations he was in at the time and what God was teaching him. I think that is what Phil does too. I think he is a very genuine guy and he is lyrically sound. God bless brother!

  • @ArmorAll86 As a trained classical singer I will say that few sing w/ the true strength of their voice... However Phil is using his talent to profess to those who do not know the Lord. This music, IS beautiful to many and yes I am also moved to worship w/ Phil's music. I am a youth leader at my Church and the songs that move the holy spirit through our kids mostly, are these songs. They worship, seek God to see what God wants of them. Try listening to Evan Wickham he is also A+

    God's Love

  • the wisdom of man is foolishness to God

  • Maybe less than 1% of the prison population are athiest is because when you know you're lost, and you know how close you are to the end--you know that the end can't be a bunch of statistics and textbooks and theories, though many of them are true.

It's about love. It's about more than what you can explain--because there are some things you can't explain.

  • I have seen the other side, and I have known it intimately. It was bleak.

  • Prison inmates are closest to what's it like to be enslaved to a sinful body...

  • this is because those who do not follow Christ believe they are their own god. they are stuck in their own pride. no one can deny Christ died and rose again. :) Praise be to Jesus and I pray your eyes will be opened.

  • Bendy-buses with the slogan "There's probably no God" could soon be running on the streets of London. The atheist posters are the idea of the British Humanist Association (BHA) and have been supported by prominent atheist Professor Richard Dawkins. The BHA planned only to raise £5,500, which was to be matched by Professor Dawkins, but it has now raised more than £80,000 of its own accord. The complete slogan reads: "There's probably no God. Now stop worrying and enjoy your life." How cool :-)

  • i bet god jesus jam to this
