Brass Idol and the first form of Mojo Idol are Shakōkidogū, goggle-eyed clay figurines with an extremely stylized female forms. They seemed extremely out of place in the original arcade version, where the bosses were mutants instead of mythological creatures from ancient civilizations.
& it's 1 of the most hardest games to beat on hard mode. The controls on this version makes it difficult to beat but on the bright side, it's a fun game to play & also 1 of my favourites for the Megadrive!!
Some notes: Wall Dragon is a common depiction of magical serpents, or nagas, in Thailand. Granite Serpent (who was an Apatasaurus with a helmet in the arcade version) is Quetzalcoatl. Brass Idol is a Dogu (look it up on Wikipedia.)
It seems they re-did all the bosses with an "ancient gods" theme-I've a srong feeling the "aliens" malarkey was a last-minute localization bit...
In the original arcade game, the plot is that you fight mutants, not aliens. The Dogu was in there too, but she was a random, throwaway gag (though still a tough boss.)
So....is the quartet of spiked balls you're shooting all over the place the complete game breaker weapon, or do all the bosses die that fast normally?

Íf ur still having problems with Mad-Roid, i've got another helpful sumthing for you, try to get to him without any Jump Powerups.. Then stand on his right side and jump when he shoots powerballs out of his right shoulder (the shoulder closest to you) This is easier then evading the powerballs in a manner of miliseconds like the player in this movie does + it also helps you when the core is exposed, you don't have to run after it. u jump just the right height to reach the core without the jumpUP
Am I then the only one who didn't have any problem at all with the Mad-Roid boss?? In any case, always stand on his right side, or else he will shoot his main cannon and that is harder to evade then the powerballs he shoots in a easy to recognize pattern, if standing on his right side.. If u failed to kill the core the first time, the droid will come back standing more in the middle, making it even easier to evade the powerballs, still standing on his right side ofcourse..
This game soooo got swept under the carpet! i want a modern day remake! The second to last boss was imposssible though. Once i killed him and died at the same time, it was heart crushing. Ive never seen the last level.
I remember this from like 15 years ago! I always used to go to my cousins house and we would play for hours on there Sega Genesis! That second to the last boss always got me. Now I know that I should have fought it from the right side, instead of the left. It shot me with it's flamethrower thingy when I was on the left side and always died. Thx for the upload!

I always had a hard time beating "Mojo Idol", "Mad Roid" (but when I saw how to beat him, I think he'll soon be banned from this list :P) and "Deatharien Leader" (god. he was hard.)
You seem to always use the "Shiny spiral stars" as a weapon :O I prefered the boomerangs. I loved how it would come back at you when you backflipped XD
I just remembered... my dad and I would always argue about that weapon as my it was my favorite (sorry the Shiny Spiral Stars) and he would only use the "Flaming Rings". Either way... I can't find this game anywhere and the last I played was when I was seven. I had turn the game after watching my dad (then copying him) get to and beat the Mojo Doll (though I died a few times, he just got tired of playing).
first I like to say the good things about this game which are it is a awesome game , really challenging ,great anime and a really great soundtrack!
The bad things about this game are some of the graphic no all some and the most pissed of thing about this game one touch and you die what I mean the atomic runner should have enegry life!
