Great video! I found you by accident today while looking for stretching exercises. How and where would you recommend a 58 year old male gets started? I've never done yoga before but it looks like just what I need to loose weight and gain flexibility.
Damn, I thought I had it all down. I have been working on completing 3 circuits based on core exersize but it hasn't prepared me well for this! Looks like a road paved with patience and a sore butt - rollin out the shaggy rug ;'[
wow i'll try this out for the afternoon. i want to start a little yoga, i know it sounds kinda weird coming from a 14 year old lol but i got an yoga exercise picked out for the morning right before going to skool in the morning which would calm me down and this one for when i come home from skool, skool can be stressful lol. thanx for showing this :)
I love this thanks, though I keep falling over and my nine year old son laughs at me. He finds it so amusing that he decided to show me how good he was at it so now we do it together :)
great! this is a great stress reliever and a awesome way to lose weight ^^ I've been trying for years and I never really thought about yoga until now. But this is awesome, I feel great and my body feels toned and tight in some areas. Thank you for showing us
i am recovering from a slipped lumbar disc and i am very nervous about moving my back....most of the stretches here i can gently manage and i am finding it very beneficial in just getting confident in moving and loosing that fear of it going again.....try it!!! but really gently and timidly !!!its working for me...the irony .....even tho i was a very fit strong guy :if i had done stretches like this before my back went it would of probably saved the disc from degenerating in the first place!!!
Hi Sadie! I just discovered these videos and I'm super excited to start to learn yoga. I'm totally doing a 360 with my life style and think the best way to do it is through yoga. I have some excess weight. I guess my question is should I try to loose some body fat before attempting yoga? I find it hard to perform some of the positions, so should I just try to do the best I can with the moves, evernthough some of them are not perfect? I appreciate your help and advice sadie. Thanks :)
Hey there--try my Weight Loss Yoga for Overweight Yogis video. You should find it easier to do, plus you'll lose weight if you add in a health eating style. Good luck--keep us posted!
I have never done yoga before so this is all new to me. I am having trouble with the move at 3:30-3:33. It puts a lot of stress on my ankles. Is there anything I can do to avoid this? I love your videos! Thank you.
Sure--just swing your legs over to the side, and come onto hands and knees. You don't have to cross your ankles and jump back...that's just a showoff move anyway;) This should erase the pressure.
I have a pretty bad injury from groin strain I got while playing soccer 5 yrs ago. Lower back and hip flexors are all out of balance and painful. THIS WORKOUT LOOKS PERFECT for me to build my core without causing more pain. THANK YOU Sadienardini. You are an ANGEL. Namaste!
Halfway is pretty awesome if you're out of shape. Make sure you're breathing super slow and deeply through the nose, like 3-5 second inhales and exhales. Remember this during the whole practice and it will take out the lactic acid so you can endure for longer, build more strength and burn more calories. Keep chipping away at it--soon you'll do 35 mins, then 40 and so on. Dedicate, you'll be so happy with the results. Let me know what happens.
Hey, Thanks for the videos. I hope to follow them regularly... Im more-than-slight out of shape and im not a hard exercise kind of person (haven't done any exercise for years now). I decided that i really wanna tone up. I tried this but i keep on stoping midway... any pointers for the soreness (that eventually wins)? :(
Technically, the "core" are your abdominal muscles, and also your pelvic floor, side waist [external and internal obliques, iliopsoas], and lower back, all of which are worked here.
Great videos =) I used to struggle with slight lower back pain as a result of a poor core strength. So easy to follow and well presented. Pain is no more thanks to these videos. I think im in love =)
Hi Denelle--thanks for your comment! The cool thing about core strength is that it opens the low back too when done properly. I'm glad you're pain-free! xoSadie
The abs will shake--if it's really bad, though, try backing off with the movement a bit till you get to a place you can manage the pose a little better--put your hands down behind you, don't go so far into the motion, whatever. Then work there, and only move on if you feel pretty stable. Some shaking is normal. A lot means you're not quite ready yet for that moment, so work towards it more slowly.
hi, love these video's. I notice with the abdominal area work i get a bit sort of shuddery or shaky, and its hard to control. does this mean I'm trying to hard or should I just go with it?
Great! Just remember to keep your low back curving into your body as you work the abdominals. you don't want to undo the curve and cause more pain. Otherwise, rock it out!!
hi sadie, your amazing! i was thinking about losing about 25-30lbs quickly. I'm not sure what i should eat. Usually i plan to just chew on cucumbers and carrots the whole day and drink lots of water but not sure if this is proper diet food.
You will only lose water and muscle weight this way, not fat. You must eat 4-5 small meals during the day to stoke your metabolism, and aim for 1,200-1,500 calories a day, mostly from fruits, veggies, olive oil, nuts, lean proteins like lean organic meats, lentils, beans. Amy's Organics in the freezer section are great quick meals. Don't starve or limit your diet that much, You need a lifestyle change, not something you can't stay with.
no prob--I just happen to be home:) Weight loss is a process, made up of many decisions to feel a little hungry, or to choose not to eat the thing you want in the moment 9 times, and then the 10th, going for it. It's 6 days a week eating well, and then the 7th, eat whatever you want. This shocks the metabolism and seems to work well for weight loss.
It's all state of mind, and when looking and feeling better, becomes more important than not, you will rock it! Keep me posted! xoSadie
I do watch what I eat, eating lots of veggies and lean protein. I eat about 1500 calories a day, so I've learned that salads and veggies give me more food for fewer calories. I do about 45-60 minutes of strong yoga [you should sweat and feel like you really worked your muscles 3-4 times a week. I lost 40 lbs doing this and I don't go to the gym or do other exercise besides walking where I need to go. Works for me and every yoga person I know:) xoSadie
Hi Sadie, I assure u that I am watching and doing and feeling really good to see the imrovement. I want to ask u 2 things. I am a semi flat butt woman, can I achieve a more round shapeed butt through yoga as latin women have( i saw ur better booty yoga). Secondly what should I do for the flabby arms. Although my wrists and elbow area has tonned a lot but still I want to reduce the loose skin from the upper elbow. Also I want to tell u that I have lost one more kg now I am on54 ;)) thank u .
yes, work those better booty videos--they will work the best for your body. Second, make sure you're including plank pose, chaturanga and upward dog in your practice. Doing that flow between each standing pose or side will make a big difference in your arms.
Be certain to hold the poses and don't lower through chaturanga too fast--it's hovering halfway down, even if you have to put your knees down that tones upper arms fast. Congrats on the weight loss!!! you GO!
A Sun Salutation is a warm up that is usually done to prepare for the more complex poses later on. Or, you can do it by itself, and just repeat it for longer.
There are a few different kinds of Sun Salutation, according to the teacher and style, but they are all pretty similar with a few sequencing or alignment differences.
I took the classical Sun Salutations and tweaked them so that they are more effective for core strengthening. So you get more for your warm-up;)
Thank uuuuuuuuuuuu so much Sadie I posted u a scrap yesterday and u promptly replied, makes me feel so special. Thanks again.
U told me abt the Core Strength and I can already see that every move you are making is correct for my problem( jelly belly).I will keep u posted. I have some other posture issues too and I am sure u have all the answers but right now I will focus only on the belly thingy. Ur way of explaining is so good and motivating. God bless u.
Thanks so much for letting me know all of this, and for your kind thoughts! I'm glad I can help and inspire. I couldn't do it without you! Keep on going...can't wait to hear.

1) Do you have a diet that goes with this? or do you even diet?
2)If I do your videos do i still need running to loose weight.
Thank You so much!
