It gets shitty when people compare the basketball greats. I mean, you said it yourself, a player may have better teammates than the other. So what's the point of comparing? Or all in all the players in the league during that player's era might not have that much good players so he dominated. I for one am just happy that I saw them play and amazed me for how good they were.
