My question here is the same for DOA5: Why bother adding graphical effects to the attacks if they don't really fit with the intended design? Do we have to keep borrowing stuff from other fighting games with every sequel? This game was fine without the liquid effect and the same goes for DOA5. VF used to be a leader when it came to innovation and at the moment if feels like it's following suit to be like Street Fighter 4 which is not needed.

@bioniceye100 I think Mortal Kombat is kind of fun, but honestly I would consider it to be one of the worst fighting games ever. It has pre-set comboes that are way too easy to pull off, it relies on breakers, and it's got some easy endless comboes that the developers apparently didn't catch.

@Bikslin Really? In HD VF5 looks incredible, the texture detail on the characters clothes is amazing and the animation is easily the most fluid in any fighting game. The characters don't look like dolls (DOA), don't look chunky (SFIV), and don't move like tanks (Tekken). Add to that Aoi is the classiest female character in any fighting game.

Only things I don't like are Lion and El Blaze's voices.

A new bloody roar was announced for 2011/2012 in February, but Hudson soft closed down and the game was cancelled a few weeks later,

I miss bloody roar, Fighting Vipers, G.A.S.P, Power Stone, Battle arena toshindon and Fighters destiny, Fighters megamix 2 would be awesome

Street Fighter X Tekken looks cool and all but I'd much rather have Virtua Fighter Vs. Tekken, maybe that will come after the success of Tekken Tag 2 and Tekken X Street Fighter?? :/

@joshylightyear I doubt we will ever see Street Fighter vs Virtua Fighter because VF incorporates real martial arts whereas Street Fighter uses over-the-top move-sets like Ryu's 720 spin kick or hoduken. As for Tekken, I don't know.

Tekken > Street Fighter > Virtua Fighter (IMO).

All 3 games are classics though. Virtua Fighter was one of the first games, if not the first game, to use 3D polygons. Tekken came afterwards but overall the Tekken series has been more successful. And Street Fighter will forever be known as the game that resurrected the fighting game genre in the early 90's.
