  • @SKgyebaek It should be extended out fully before it hits. Right before it hits, or as it hits, you need to bend your leg through the strike to prevent your knee from hyper extending.

  • @scouserdan3 Do it everyday morning , afternoon and night ! Like brushing your teeth ;) after a month you will see the changes. And try to go slowly when you do it. If you feel a bit a pain in the muscle it's normal ! But if it's like hurting you bad then you should stop. Try to stretch like 30mins . Hope that helped you .

  • @elchacal31 By either knocking your opponent out when you hit them, or hit them in such a way that they end up bending their neck so that there is no force fighting against your kick.

  • My spinning hook kick for my left leg is perfect, but i try so hard to improve it with my right leg, and every time i throw the kick my leg doesnt go all the way through, it stops half way, and its hard for me to drag my right leg parallel to the ground, but my left leg is so much easier, pleeeeeeeease help me!!!

  • Hi Kwonkicker, and everybody! I need your advice. What do you think, should I, or can I take kickboxing (or let's say muay thai) lessons and taekwondo lessons at the same time? For example 3 days per week taekwondo, 3 days kickboxing. Or is it too much for the body? what do you think? Thanks, everyone! Take care!

  • do u do a "snap" in ur kick for the spinning hook like u would a regular kick

    i notice ur leg (superb form btw) kinda look like it snaps in retract ur leg a lil bit after the kick has made contact , i kno in regular kicks u would perform the snap after ur knee has been raised past the point of the target for extra power n was wondering do this kick follow the same principle

  • @Aiifaelfadam How is your recovery after the kick? Are you returning to your fighting stance? It appears you need to work on your return to a proper fighting stance rather than focussing on the actual strike of the kick. Listen from 8:10 of the video as well.

  • @sammiedodgers there is no difference between TKD or shaolin kung fu kicks and punches, as Bruce Lee said " as long as we have two arms and two legs, all movements are ultimatly the same"

  • When do you recommend using this kick? I'm a first Dan in WTF TKD, but I've always used turning kicks or back kicks, and I feel as if I need to use a wider array of kicks. Would you use it like a counter, or what?

  • @HayzeRagex After the initial spin,your upper body will be leaning & facing away from your opponent, and be out of the way of most of your opponents strikes. After that, it is not as important to keep your guard up until your foot has passed your target. Once the foot passes the target, your upper body begins to turn and face the opponent again and put you back in range of his strikes. That is why it is important that you begin to bring your guard back up after your foot passes the target.

  • @HayzeRagex very important in a fight. if you try the kick as your initial attack the opponent might just jump back and counter.

  • @HayzeRagex very, never drop your hands. I use it as a counter attack, never as a lead.

  • You know everytime I see this kick in either a tournament or the olympics..

    the person who does the spinning kick always falls as they make contact to the head. I don't know why, but that's how I do it too.. But it's a guaranteed knock out everytime :P

  • that's kinda like the motion of a whip. you get the momentum from the upper body to increase the speed of the tip of you foot.

  • @kwonkicker good for balance, both physical and mental. i do my best to keep both. you should try running while holding you breath. great for lung capacity, hard as hell, but an awesome adrenaline rush is sure to follow :) also, i run on multiple terrains, such as dry sand, ice, snow, slopes, mountains, forests and urban environments. snow by far in boots is the hardest terrain, mostly because you have to judge where it might give out. nice tut

  • @dubeman111 kicks become faster by doing it slow (not kidding)

    it's called muscle memory. The more you do it, the more used to it your muscles become until it is just reflex

    Train slow, but focus on technique and break bad habits because as you do this it not only becomes memory and reflex, you also can throw it proper and have your kicks look like normal speed in slow mo like him

  • @khairuleven Why the hell the kicker must learn Jujitsu & Ground ? Don't ruin the beauty art of kicking with ground !!!! Why always spread the idea of SUCK MMA and Jujitsu to kicker ? I am glad he choose to be stand . The kicker is great enough . Tae Kwon Do is great kicking art . Stand up and kicks are their own signature .......

  • @khairuleven That's NOT True . Kicks are the most powerful and longest weapon in body . It can be 3 times harder than punch . Kicking Arts like Tae Kwon Do must have it's own way to avoid the grapling and tackle . The Asian Martial Arts are very for 1000 years so they must have invent the methods or strategies to defeat grapplers with kicking . It just something we didn't look back or forget about it .

  • @khairuleven How come you say kick are inaccurate ? Go to see Master Kang Shin Chul in Human Weapon , he can kick the cigaratte that student holding in his mouth . His feet hit it directly without touching his student mouth .

    Beauty of Kicking Art must be maintained forever . I am sure there are still millions of people who want to see it and have faith in it .

  • my favorit kick ever, the spining hook, hard to perform but so powerfull. Indeed, this one is better than the original, good you decide to make a new one, how about the 540 spining hook kick? the on you've done were good but it need to be more detailled.

  • also I have a hard time kicking with my right leg, it is sloppy and a cant get it as high, compared to my left leg I'm wondering if there is anything I can do to (drills, stretches etc.) to help with this problem

  • @Jonesie501 i hav the same problem but wat i do is just practice BASIC kicks with the leg i dont use as well and i hav been seeing some improvement but kwonkicker might hav something better but still hope i helped at least a little bit peace out bro =)
