Check the fuse to the radio. It may be loose or is internally broken and making intermittent contact? Replace it in any case.Also it could be a loose connection in the system? It could be the radio itself. I seriously doubt that the battery has anything to do with this problem!
Hi I start the car and the radio starts with sound, I crank and start the motor the radio stop for some seconds. The radio light come back but no sound. AFter 10 minutes the sound might come. Is that a battery problem ? I have 12.4 Volt over the battery when the car stands still. Thanks for good info/video
@NguyenEmpir3 new cars with a "chip key"must have a box installed with the remote. the box uses the "valet key" to allow the car to start. Who installed the remote?? I bet they didn't install the valet key box!
I've tested lots of alternators with output at 13.8 +/- .1 volt and they are fine. A alternator load test is the only way to get a accurate result. Unless of course the output is 0 then it's pretty obvious there's a problem. If your going to be testing alternators and batteries you at least need a carbon pile and a DMM to monitor voltage output. Or if you have deep pockets you can get a Snap-On DTAC which is what I use. The VAT-40 is a good unit as well.
All that does is gives a negative voltage reading on the meter. So what? It still allows you to read the voltage drop when cranking the engine and that is what you want!
This is the info I was looking for. Thanks for taking the time to produce this informative piece.

@eurokid83
i WOULD AGREE BUT WHAT ORDINARY PERSON IS GOING OUT AND BUY A CARBON PILE LOAD TESTER?
THE METHOD I SUGGEST AT LEAST GIVES AN IDEA OF WHAT'S GOING ON WITHOUT A WHOLE LOT OF EQUIPMENT.
