im going to buy XFX Radeon HD4890 1GB DDR5 PCIE 2.0 x16 BUT i got an old motehrboard and it suucks , so can u guys tell em what motherboard i should buy and not more than 400$ so please reply fast !!!! and btw tell me the name of the ,motherboard and the price..
tell me if XFX Radeon HD4890 1GB DDR5 is a good choice or bad and if its a bad choice tell me what its better than this tyvm for helping...
replay fast cuz i really need tyvm tyvm and tyvm !!!
Get this Mobo and an 5870!, With a Q9550 and 4GB ddr3 1600MHZ, overclock it and It's one of the best computers in the world!(not the best, but really bang for buck!)
i already chosed my pc and i will purchase it in 5 days , the GPU is Saphire Radeon HD5870 , cpu is core i7 860 and ect....so tyvm for helping but i will buy mine soon
Depends on what games you are playing & how much your willing to spend :] but the 2nd choice would OWN!! =P Co-op edition is very nice card also runs very cool :]
DO NOT build a multi GPU system if you DO NOT HAVE TO, SLI has very poor scaling capabilities. One single powerful GPU is better than 2 that are worse. And 1 card will leave the option to upgrade to multi GPU in the future when it is more efficent.
hmm... I'm used to building computers out of old parts and most of those computers are slow enough for the cpu to be passive, and no north/southbridge heatsinks in sight....
thanks alot for the reply man. i can afford the x-fi titanium but if the motherdboard comes with a sound card i dont know if there is a point in buying it will i really see that much of a difference i know nothing about soundcards
No system needs liquid cooling, that's a waste of time, anyone who has made a high end water cooling system AND a high end AIR cooled system will tell you the ability to gain performance rests with the quality of the motherboard (its complexity and power regulation); liquid cooling or air cooling come secondary in defining system performance and overclocking capability.
He says "it's made specifically for overclockers, if you want to game obviously you could though"....Isn't the whole POINT of overclocking, generally, and mostly used to increase gaming performance? I figured overclocking and gaming pretty much go hand in hand.
i have my q6600 on my asus p5q pro oc to 3ghz and 1500fsb and it very powerful plus the hd 4850 oc 700/1170 with zalman gv 1000 an a 22" lg flatron and i can play all the games on max settings, why the f*** do i need a 300 euros motherboard
YES, it is infinitely better than the formula because of the 16 phase power regulation and the amount of copper that is attached to the mosfet, northbridge, and southbridge.
My spec: Core2Duo E6700, P5KPL, XFX GTX285, and 2gb of rams. Would upgrading my mainboard to this one helps boost my pc's performance tremendously? Or should I just go for cheaper mainboard let's say..P5Q Deluxe which is still DDR2 platform and upgrade my cpu to Q9650 instead. I don't have enough cash for upgrading everything to core i7, so it's not an option.
hey, stick with the P5Q, its better for the money, and Q9650 is too expensive, best bang for the money would be Q9550 and you can overclock it to 3.0GHz.
ya thats true, ive been told that. i ur right i was thinking bout that and if i got the q9550 and that board anew ddr3 ram itll cost a litle less then the core i7, ya imma do that. thinking about the asus p6t deluxe v2 or the evga x58 board which is $20 more but can have 3 way sli so i think imma go with the evga x58 board. idk what do u think?
definitly upgrade to X58. they say the EVGA is pretty good. Ive got the rampage 2 myself. if you wanna know something, just ask and i'll send you any results. The 1st time I booted my new system it was so much faster then my last setup (750i, E8400 and 4GB 1066MHz RAM). The specs are on my profile of my current rig.
Can you use this board stable at 8GB@1600Mhz? I have this board with 4GB@1600MHz with Intel Extreme Memory (X.M.P. Support), I don't want to waste my money on memory that I can't use at the right speed.
I was going to get this, but then i got the asus p5n-d, becuase usb 3.0 and pci-e 3.0 come out in about a year and a half or so..im just planning on that..
:/ y as your not going to get any incrase graphics wise as modern gpu dont even use all the bandwidth, you can run a gtx 260 on x8 and not bottleneck it. as to usb 3.0 greater speed ok great but eSATA is already in use.
the P5N-D uses both pci-e slots at x16 when in sli..its really nice and alot cheaper..i recently decided to build a hackintosh PC but will still build a new system when pci-e 3.0 comes out..thats just my opinion though..lol
no the P5N-d has pci-e x16 but wont use anywere near the bandwidth that 16x provides so pic-e 3 is not need nor will give perfromance gains as i said lol.
Im lost now, I mean that graphics RAM dosent count towards the 32 os limit. You can have 3gb RAM and 512mb of graphics ram and thats what you have, Graphical RAM is totally different
lol, reading the comments below here is quite funny.. : )
32bit os has a memory limitation of 4GB, yes.

So that is, if u have 4GB of RAM and a graphics card with 512MB, you'll get 3.5GB, and so on. So yeah. The easy way to figure out how much memory you'll get is 4GB - the amount of memory the Graphics card.
I believe you might be wrong there. Normal RAM is DDR graphics cards are GDDR. Technically the same thing design wise and the way it works. However they do not count as the same thing. If you have 3gb of RAM and 512mb of Graphics Ram..thats exactly what you have. The PC uses it a completely different way. I know I have 3gb Ram and 512mb graphics and thats exactly how it works. And yes i use 64bit OS
hey i kinda have a problem, i have this Mobo and 6Gb of DDR3 ram, but the windows detect it as only 33-- Mb :s, is it becoz of the window? (vista 32bit) or the Cpu (e6750 ) thanks
No, you can look for the memory channel. The Core i7 needs DDR3 Triple Channel, while the Core 2 processors need DDR3 Dual Channel. The MHz only defines operating speeds.
it depends on your gpu...this 2 mbs have diffrent chipsets: the rampage and intel chipset the striker have a nvidia chipset......so for nvidia gpu the striker for ati/amd cards the rampage :)
wooow no maa esta si es una verdadera motherboard, tien absolutamente todo, esta muy completa y esta muy atractiva en pocas plabras pienso que es la mejor ahhhhh! yo la quiero!!!!, gracias por la traduccion :) saludos

so the only thing i need to look when looking for rams is tha speed (mhZ) these is my first pc build
luisronaldofigo 3 years ago
No, you can look for the memory channel. The Core i7 needs DDR3 Triple Channel, while the Core 2 processors need DDR3 Dual Channel. The MHz only defines operating speeds.

these or the striker?
luisronaldofigo 3 years ago
it depends on your gpu...this 2 mbs have diffrent chipsets: the rampage and intel chipset the striker have a nvidia chipset......so for nvidia gpu the striker for ati/amd cards the rampage :)

oh yeah gotta love technology but I really hate watching those "wires/cables"
I hope the next generations of PC's are all wireless.
I hope technology will advance more before I die LOL!

i wouldnt hope for all wireless since more could go wrong with it.
