You are wrong about the polls. The CNN exit poll showed that for the voters who made their choice based on VP, 56% voted for McCain and only 43% voted for Obama. McCain NEVER lead in the polls - except for the 3 weeks AFTER he picked Palin.
Palin helped McCain more than she hurt. McCain did plenty on his own to hurt himself, as did Bush.

For anyone to objectively look at her interviews and not be able to see that she is not capable of running this country scares me. That people are considering her as a candidate makes me think that there is a good portion of the US population that doesn't do a lot of critical thinking.

Palin was cleared of all wrongdoing by the special prosecutor investigating the case. All wrongdoing. It's her job to hire and fire people in her administration. This is what $150,000 in excuses looks like. By the way, what about all the money spent by the State of Alaska for travel expenses for her children. Regardless of this she was a runner up in a beauty pageant (as well as a former television personality) & there is no way she was that ignorant about clothing etc. I also find her comment about censoring interesting, in that the 1st Potter book was Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone printed in 1997 her 1st term as mayor started in 1996!
