  • thumbs up if link to the past is better than ocarnia of time

  • and the master sword sleeps again...FOREVER!...so uh...I take it this happened before windwaker?...oh boy..chronology in the zelda franchise makes your head spin..

  • This has to be one of the, if not GREATEST RPG video games of all time for the SNES (right up there with Super Metroid). It was what gave the SNES the alias as "The RPG King". It was an EPIC adventure with fun side quests, massive, if not gargantuan replay value, and fulfilment at the end of your long journey in Hyrule, and the Golden Land which was under Ganon's Corruption. It is a definate Super Nintendo Gem worthy of being in your Library.

    Overall Grade: A+

  • @IvoryGecko1993 But neither Link to the Past nor Super Metroid were RPGs... lol

  • In the GBA remake if you use a glitch in Thieves Town with the mirror you can access a hidden dungeon. Many of the Dark Realm bosses return and if you beat them all again in this level you will fight Dark Link who is sporting different colored tunics that grant him new abilities. I do not know the intended way in though since the guard at the entrance won't let me pass so the glitch is the only way in apparently.

  • Yeah the ending is a tear jerker but in a positive way. It makes you cry tears of joy because Link saved the world and things are going back to the way they were before Ganon and his minions interfered. Yay Link's uncle survived and so did the priest of the church. Happy ending all around.

  • one of the best game ever

  • Beautifully done ! And you recorded it all on VHS ! ☺

  • @v3ctor211 I love VHS :)

  • Should be together...

  • LINK SHOULD KEEP THE MASTER FOREVER!!!!!!!! for another journey and link and Zelda should together FOREVER!!!!!!

  • What? No scene of Link and Zelda holding hands?!

    I call shenanigans!

  • First time playing through as a kid, it just felt like this fantastic dreamworld to explore. I would return to the lost woods constantly to see this amazing sword and no idea how to pull it out, and exploring everywhere in light world to see what i could and couldn't reach. To be honest I spent so much time looking for secrets in the overworld that I was actually completely surprised when there was a dark world lol (I was like "oh crap I have to rent this game again!")

  • I remember playing this as a kid when I was around 8 and always replaying it over and over with my sisters.. o where those the good old days.. now im in college and this is still my overall favorite game.

  • what about collecting the four swords? The one in the huge pyramid that has a little secret that a little pig said " only the chosen one can get in here GET OUT!! " and made you paid $20?

  • @TheRazorclaw92

    That's only in the GBA remake. If you beat the multiplayer-only game that comes with ALTP GBA, then you unlock not only that dungeon, but also a secret that lets you get the Great Spin Attack. Sadly I've never managed to beat the multiplayer (me and my friends failed miserably at it, for whatever reason).

  • all the zelda games are great theyre the greatest franchise ever created

  • 1) Visit the bomb shop (Link's House in the Dark World) and buy the red bomb;

    2) Place the bomb at the broken pyramid wall;

    3) Enter the hole. You will see a wishing well;

    4) Throw your sword and your bow&arrows in the wishing well to get the golden sword and the silver arrows (an empty bottle will be filled with magic potion).

  • Greatest Game !

  • damn right i agree 100%

  • best zelda game there is...this game defined my 12 year old summer.

  • gotta love this game! :)

  • I finished this game 3 times. I liked the idea that after you beat the game you were taken into the "dark" world and you had to play the game again but this time things were moved around.

    Thanks for posting this, good memories.

  • I don't think that's true. I've beaten this game more times than I could count. In fact, I'm overdue for my bi-annual completion. What are you talking about?

  • hes talking about when you are taken to the dark world, remember?

  • Oh, I get it. I was just assuming that any gamer worth his weight in rupees wouldn't refer to the first three dungeons in a Zelda game as "beating the game".

  • aparently your trying to insult me. and i never said the first 3 dungeons where beating the game, i was just replying to your comment, and you said that you dont remember going to the dark world as normal link after you get the moon pearl. i wasnt agreeing with him, i was replying to you

  • i remember when i beat this...i was 8 years old in 2nd grade...i found the ending so happy and mysteriously fascinating that it overwhelmed my heart and mind with feelings and emotion, and i cried...the only video game that has ever made me cry...i'm 23 now

  • lol the game came out in 1992, either you werent 8 or you are not 23

  • i was born in 1985. i got the game for christmas in 1993 when i was 8...i was in 2nd grade then. so what the hell are you talking about? do the math, moron.

  • Just because the game came out in 1992 doesn't mean you couldn't get it the year after.

    BREAKING NEWS! GAMES STAY ON SALE AFTER THEIR RELEASE DATE!

  • hahaha man ifelt the same way i was like 9 when i did it im 16 now such a hard but amazing game ahah.

  • @theblitz00 you cried to this game? ok...

  • @theblitz00 Ha! I beat this game when I was 5! with my dad's help, although he couldn't and still can't play if he depended on it!

  • best game ever

  • Yes, at least the best Zelda game so far!

  • NOO!! i disagree very much!!! the best Zelda game would have to be twilight princess!!!!! (for wii only), second best is ocarina of time, i would say ocarina of time was better, but i like the graphics in twilight princess way more, hahaa, LOL, have a good one =]

  • You have your opinion and I have mine but Zelda Ocarina of Time was rated #1 game in the world and I fully agree that it is.
