There are so called "Two-Step parts", which is kinda the Standart "Dance" for moshing.

And there are brutal Moshparts and of course Breakdowns.

The "aim" of moshing is not swinging at people, it is dancing and having fun.

Yet, if you just look at the overall outcome, I must admit it does look very much similar to "Just knock everyone out"! :D
