  • is you wife an employee there?

  • Hi, I'm working on hooking my lock tonight. My biggest feat is getting prodded by the point of the hook. Last time it got caught in my finger and my sister had to snatch it out... Any suggestions to help. I had a thimble on my thumb b/c it got prodded the most but left my other finger without one, lol.

  • @Thiscrapsannoying you cant really tell. its just more of do you like them on you.

  • how to keep dreads clean

    seddik.byethost5 . com/

  • Hey man do you know where I can get a crochet hook the size they use? Is there a website they have or a website you know of to get one? thanks

  • As an african american i am VERY pleased with your style of loc'ing hair for different textures. I've seen soon crazy stuff for individuals with straight hair thats making locs. i'm gonna forward your videos to my friends with straight hair. they'll be very pleased!

  • I enjoyed viewing this video. I am fast approaching my 2 year mark with dreadlocks. The model looks gorgeous with locs! *blesssings*

  • Omfg I just got to Seattle from NYC see this video n I'm like WTF . I need my hair done as we speak . Please if u can just write to me n tell me where I can get this done I would be most greatful. ;)

  • You have a beautiful wife.

  • I live in Seattle Washington USA and am wondering how do I find or do you know of anyone in Seattle/Tacoma who does the Bankok Method of locing hair? I can't Find anyone Anywhere in this state!!!

  • the bankok style is a lot quicker and... faster..

  • Looks like what they are doing with her hair is "needle felting" where you bond the fibers by using the needle. it is very interesting, but i don't think that it is something i would ever want done on me.

  • i would like to know where can i buy already made locks like the ones i saw in this video?

  • very nice video! thanks

  • They are fast!!1

  • thats cool

  • how much does this cost roughly in bangkok? (well, what would it cost in either canadian or us dollars?)

  • os sad

  • I'm guessing he's bald because he got sick of his dreads?

  • wow didnt know people in bangkok were into dreads!! amazing!

  • Comment removed

  • Beautiful. Absolutely amazing. Come to the UK and fix my dreads please. :-p

  • Very interesting video! Thanks

  • it's like needle felting

  • would it work for bi racial people because im half black/white and my is straight but nappy

  • the more kinky the hair the easier it is to form and maintain the dread loc. Your nappy hair sounds like it would form locs really well. I have a great many dread info and tutorial videos if you want more info.

  • @skillteacher is it better to use human straight hair or kinky human hair to make the dread extensions?

  • @skillteacher, I saw the ladies making dreadlocks. I would like to know if there is a website i can order already made dreadlocks so that i can make my locks longer?

  • @NileOfBlood6606 i like the choice of the word "Nappy" Nice pick of words.

  • @NileOfBlood6606 yes. Im half white/black also and it works just fine. back comb and crochet hook. Forget wax, you dont need it.

  • this teqnique s porbobly only for str8 hair... tis isnot recommended for black hair as you would probobly end up bald

  • Actually this method works better on naturally kinky hair. Locs are the formation of knots and the crochet hook manages the loc's shape. It's just that hair that is naturally kinky can form dread knots easier. People with strait hair need help to control the knots more.

  • @skillteacher i dunno i had my locs done with a hook before...and the lock was just looped within itself it wasnt stabbed and jerked like that it looks too rough for kinky hair...that stabbin and stuff cannot be good for kinky hair.i can imagine the breakage....but anyway good video

  • if you see the lady doing his wife hair cut her self

  • is it ok to have dreads?? when you are a nursing student? or working as a nurse??

  • i got the same question, if you get an answer forward it

  • not in the united states, cause i used to have dreads and they told me to cut it.. unless you are a rastafarian maybe

  • @supremo00 alot of people have locs in the us, you just need to make sure it looks neat and maintained and clean.

  • @supremo00 - Not true. I know several RN's who work in the U.S. (east coast) who have locs and they have never been instructed to cut them or even so much as cover them up. I'm not sure where you live, but you need to find out the actual policy on hair/locs cause it sounds like you might have a case of discrimination.

  • I find it amazing how locs at one point where looked at as something "dirty black people" have, now all types of people are embracing the style and culture. It's very interesting how she was locking her hair, but i'm not too sure if it would work on black people hair.. OBTW..You shouldn't call them "Dread locs".. there is nothing dreadful about them. they are simply locs :)

  • @Ahdayah7 this is for people with straight hair. Our hair can loc naturally on its own, we dont do this method. and with the whole Dread/Locs thing...it really depends on the person. I call em locs but i dont have a hissy fit if someone calls them dreads.

  • Hey, I live in western Pennsylvania and would love to find a place to do my dreads like this. Does anybody know of a salon or anything?

  • It is hard to find anybody that does this style. Your best bet is to learn this method with a friend so you guys can do it yourselves. I posted a Great learning to dread advice vid to help people get started. Good Luck.

  • Ooops, forget it I see your other videos over here to the right. New to youtube and computers so forgive me. I'll post a question after watching these. Thanks again.

  • 5 Stars! But I still don't get what they're doing. Are they actually crocheting the synthetic hair into her hair or are they just pushing it in, in which case how does it stay. Also are they using synthetic hair on your wife's head or is it real hair? Also, is there a grade of hair they use? Regardless I enjoyed watching this. Thanks.

  • They can use real or synthetic hair to add and make the dreads thicker. Real hair is the best because fake hair feels unnatural and weighs more. It's worth the extra money to add the real hair. But if the dreads locs are done well they do not need to add any hair.

  • This technique has helped me out sooooooooooo much! My dreads used to look like crap and where taking a very long time to lock with my "twist and rip" method! I have a question tough, Some of my dreads it look like some of the hair has moved up, and it makes it look weird, and uncomfortable

  • I'm glad this method has helped.

For your problem, send me a message with more detail and I'll try to help.

  • do you have a vid with them adding on the dreadloc extension?

  • Adding extensions would be the same as reattaching a dread that was cut. Fray the ends at least 2 inches or more on each side. Mesh the frayed ends together and knot the sections together. I would personally recommend going in the dread at a diagonal angle to link the knots together, similar to my thickening dreads video.

Ill post an attaching extensions vid as soon as I can but it may be a while. Hope my suggestions help in the mean time.

  • this is true.. but i looked and i can not find any place around were i live who does dreads or at least knows wat there doin. i dont want someone working on my dreads who have no idea wat there doing

  • is there ne were else to get it that cheap.

  • Having friends help or doing it yourself is free. Salons in the usa are very expensive because this method is so time consuming.

  • how much that cost

  • 6 hours of 1 to 4 people working on maintaining the locs only costed 40 dollars! Many forigners come here to kao san road and get dreads this style for super cheap.

  • nice! i wish i would've sectioned off my hair as nicely as that! oh well, i rock my own style!

teach - my dreads have been looking waaaaay betta since finding your channel. thanks for sharing!

    any luck with hiyahiya?

  • Yes, many thanks, I saw their site. I glad my vids helped. This style of locking makes sense the more you practice. This Bangkok style is fast which makes it harder to learn.

  • I would definitely tear my fingers to shreads if i did it like those ladies! slow and easy works for me

  • Pats hair is very pretty

  • mr. skillteacher thanks for the video that was son interactive about making dreads in natural way, i got clear the method.

  • Im so pissed off right now, for one your wife is more beautiful than any woman i ever laid eyes on in a long time lol and for 2 I doubt I will ever find anyone to do my hair here with that method and i need it dont like that bad. My roots are way smaller than the dread its self.

  • Yea small root patches suck. But it does give you more locs. People with thick hair can handle the smaller patches for their dreads.

  • This are the best and most comprehensive and clear video's on youtube about making dreads without wax but just a crochet hook. i LOVE this!

  • Can you use the same method on Black people hair too?

  • Yes, and it even works better on naturally kinky hair. This crochet hook method just helps to form the knots faster that make dreads. This method also helps to sculpt the locs so that they can be thicker or have less loose hairs poking out. You can check out my other videos for additional insights about the technique or send me a personal message to help. I've worked with all types of people and have encountered many problems that I was able to help them through.

  • Ok Thanks, I will check them out.

  • YOur wife dreads are beautiful
