There is a ranged tutorial made by someone else on youtube. Search it up. For the N+ tactics wait for the the weapon to come right back where it was when you started swinging .

Its a nice guide for beginners. Since Mabinogi's battle system is completely different from any other game and most people who start playing it are completely clueless about it. So this helps beginners , a lot . o.o

I'm not saying I use these tactics endlessly I just go with the flow of battle like you said. :D

What I usually do is smash-counter-windmill-defend. I use defrend if its like lagodessa or snakes.
