The distance from the block which forms the base of the light tower, to the flag pole on Parliament house seems to be 3 times the square root of three kilometres. The square root of three is the ratio for a 'vesica pisces'. The distance described forms the vertical axis of a vesica pisces with a radius of 3 kms, the horizontal axis lying approximately from City Hill to Russell along Constitution Ave.
I have also found the distance from the offset summit of City Hill to the trig marker on 'peace and harmony hill' behind the Russell complex is 1.53 miles. 'Peace and harmony hill' was the location proposed by Burley-Griffin for the site of a national cathedral. 153 is the denominator of the ratio of 265:153 which is also a description for a Vesica Pisces, 153 is then said to be the number of fish caught in the net from the story of the miraculous draught of fish (John 21:11).
The mid-point of the axis to 'peace and harmony hill is St John the Baptist Anglican church. The end points of the 'proper' vesica piscis' horizontal axis are one behind the supreme court building and behind the military complex. All of these places would suggest Masonic origins.
My bad. The 'trig marker' turns out was actually a switching box of some kind, the concrete base doesn't look too old. I will stop posting these comments now.
Vesica Pisces can be Masonic but it's use here in the outlay of the city might also have something to do with ancient Glastonbury. Apparently there's also stuff left around about Stonehenge as well.
Burley-Griffen designed the city using geomantic principles with Mt Ainslie forming a central land axis to Bimberi Peak. This axis which bisects the city, also passes through Capital Hill (Parliament House), the Australian War Memorial, and Woden Cemetery. The geomancy is based on a combination of Chinese feng-shui and masonic concepts. I think, if anything, the blood may be kangaroo blood from the Majura kangaroo cull. The axis connects the war memorial and the war cemetery to Parliament.
What the hell were they trying to sing?

I guess someone had to measure the distances I have described so there must be some complicity here somewhere, most likely Freemasons I would think.

The trouble with esoteric stuff is that no one will describe it so you have to work it out for your selves.

The thing about Canberra, and for that matter Australia, is that it's population is so small that everyone is not very far removed from one another.
