I think maybe House adored his father when he was a kid. The way he looked up at him when they were walking together... I don't know.

it doesn't fit, the way they edited it you still get this feeling of house being alone, even if he is getting better.
this additional scene makes you feel like he's finding closure in memories of companionship, love and a lot of things that give you an anti-alone feeling. It was just to much for the house we've been shown for the past few years.
