So what does Pelagonia and Pelagos and Makedonia and Phalanx mean in the Slavic idiom? The fact that a Macedonian tomb has been found in your land means that Macedonians lived in Pelagonia, (which still has Greeks living as minority under your state), means that it was Greek land then. Does the fact that Tynis has Roman amphitheaters in their land mean that they are Romans now? Since you have also have Turkish mosques in Skopje does it mean that you are Turks? I doubt it. Greek was an adopted language, Arisotle taught Alexander the Macedonian greek because he could not understand it. Thracians and other non hellenic tribes wrote in greek also, much like we are writing in english now, the most common language, much like greek was then. Fact is the school of thought now does not regard the ancient Macedonians as greek, learn to deal with it.

The hellenistic language was greek that were spoken throughout the Hellenistic kingdomes.They were talking this greek dialect from Εpirus to Persia.If Alexander was anything else but Greek(or Hellene if you prefer...Greeks were called by the Romans),he wouldn't have spread the greek language to become the international language of his time.
