Actually the raf was being beaten by the luftwaffe. Luftwaffe tactics were originally to attack raf airbases and at one point had the raf down to only 350 planes. It was only when hitler ordered the luftwaffe to switch tactics from bombing airbases to bombing cities that allowed the raf to begin the fightback. I am not questioning that britain won that fight but they could not beat Germany in Europe......
