If someone told me that I need to be perfected because of a religious belief that I hold, I would find that hateful. But I find your second comment more disturbing. Freedom of speech means that you can speak your views but it doesn't mean you have to be listened to. If a Jewish person said that I should renounce Christ and become Jewish to be perfected. I believe Ann's statement reflects accurately the Christian neo-protestant stand on Judaism and the Jewish people. If Jews want to have good relations with Christians, they must accept this and disagree without getting offended. After all, there are a lot of things in the Christian faith we don't agree with. I humbly suggest that you examine your heart if you truly believe you can decide whether or not a person has accepted Christ as their lord and savior in spite of what they profess to believe.

I used to get angry about Coulter's bile, but now I just don't care, because she's such an obvious poseur. She doesn't give a damn about any of the issues she talks about. All she cares about is her sales, and getting attention. I believe Ann's statement reflects accurately the Christian neo-protestant stand on Judaism and the Jewish people. If Jews want to have good relations with Christians, they must accept this and disagree without getting offended. After all, there are a lot of things in the Christian faith we don't agree with. But there is a lot more that unites us. Ann's positions are consistent with those things, which is why I like her.

There is nothing shocking or offensive about wishing everyone would believe your religion. Coulter's comments can only be considered offensive if you really really want them to be.
I don't defend Coulter in all cases, but this is ridiculous.

angelina, I would say that it's not shocking or offensive that Muslims would like it if everyone was Muslim. You don't have to know very much about either of these religions to see that they are evangelistic.

Gamma, there is nothing religious about Coulter's comments. In fact her hatred spewing rhetoric sounds just the opposite. Of course she's not the first Christian to spew hate.

What? There's nothing religious about talking about religion? I don't even know how to approach that statement. It reads like you went to some generic anti-Coulter website and copy and pasted the first preprogrammed anti-Coulter statement you found.

Gamma, I don't waste my time going to pro or anti Coulter sites. My point is that religious "christians" who spew hate are the opposite of Christ. He taught love not hate and yet the loudest christians seem to be the meanest.

There are many principles at the core of Christianity that are offensive. Evangelism is not one of them. If Christians believe that they have the truth which brings eternal life, we would expect them to want to share it.
Therefore, i find nothing hateful or mean about the dialog in question.

I don't believe that the loudest Christians are the meanest. I believe that the media gives coverage to the meanest Christians. Now if this is because it gets ratings or because the media would like to portray Christians in a bad light, i dont know. Many people (like you) associate Christians with hate and people like the Westboro Baptist Church. I can't say if that would be so without the media.

Gamma I am a Christian so I know of what I speak about. I know that many people who profess to be Christians are anything but. There are many things in the Old Testament that are forgiven or revised in the New Testement. But I'm not here to talk about that specifically. I'm here to comment on how offensive I find Ann Coulter to be. Period. Have a blessed day.

If you are a Christian, you should really know why nothing Coulter said in this case was offensive.
I humbly suggest that you examine your heart if you truly believe you can decide whether or not a person has accepted Christ as their lord and savior in spite of what they profess to believe.

It's not what a person says, it's how they say it. Ann Coulter is mean spirited and hateful. Just the opposite of Christ. She gives Christians a bad name and I know many many that would never want to be associated with her. Actions and deeds speak louder than words.

Angel, my original point was that there is nothing offensive of shocking about the dialog in question. I think people are really trying to be offended by her.
My more dire, recent point is that if someone claims to be a Christian and you think they are not because of their actions, that's serious. You should probably examine your heart. Maybe read the epistles of John or something.
