  • These people spoke nothing but good about Him.

  • it's amazing that people still remember the way back.

  • I certainly dont have issues with the three years I spent there, but till the commies are no longer in control they won't see one of my tourist dollars....don't get these guys going back there and smiling like nothing ever happened.

  • @jimbeauxtexas

We spent the last four years writng a short book - perhaps you would like to read it - this experience and his time spent there was no walk in the park either - but I can say for sure that it was a healing experience - but that might not apply to others - I imagine it's a case by case basis - and in this case it was a good thing- overall - considering he survived 47 night of direct mortar attacks - nightly patrols and a near death case of hepatitis - I

  • Well the war is over and no need to keep fighting it. We should never have been there in the first place. Still, I salute the vets who went and did what they took an oath to do.

Filmmaker Jack Marino's Salute to all the Vietnam vets, the only film that honors all you guys!

  • i mean no disrespect to any Vet that feels they have to go back to that shit hole country for whatever reason...it'd be a cold day in hell, before i would go back there.

  • kidstryke... things you could never, ever comprehend. i'll leave it at that...

  • well, i respect your opinion, although viet nam has changed a great deal.

  • Well aint You the Lonely one..I say stop feeling self pity get off your ass and get the hell out there, and see if you have the same opinion you had the day you stepped foot in Tah Son Nhat in 65. Then if you still feel the same way, then thats fine. at least you tried to.

  • kook...fuck you cunt, don't fuckin tell me about how i feel, you weren't there jagoff, i was.....

  • Confront your Demons, go there to visit. Lay them to Rest, or at least heal some Bitterness. It's somthing all Vets should do. Respect to the Vet who goes back.

  • Sox: I think that's actually a rather healthy, mature way of dealing with it.

Not all "demons" need to be confronted--sometimes confrontation just reopens old wounds.

  • I hope one day that I can go back and find a closure...almost 40 years and I'm still fighting the war...I was 19 went I went over but 30(in my mind) when I can home..

  • I feel whit you man...im a vet to but i went to Bosnia...a real diffrence but still, war is war. I hope you can give the hard things a good place in your heart...altough you will never forget the bad things...

  • loxleyfinger....with all due respect, if you feel you have to go back there to close it out, then by all means, if there is some way you can go, go my friend.....but, in my opinion, that time in our young lives will never ever leave us....best wishes to you...

  • @loxleyfinger did you ever fly a chopper gunner ?

  • I got friend is veteran too. He is very nice and really human.

  • Such a beautiful country, such a tragic history.

The kids here in North America do not realize how fortunate they really are man.
