what a song... awesome!!! imagine the lyrics...every day i love you more and more and more and more and more, and when i go to sleep at night time, tomorrow is what i pray for, cause everyday with you girl, is sweeter then the day before. wow!!!
The combination of Dennis' great voice and the haunting melodic tenor sax hasn't been matched in the last 40 years.. sounds just as perfect as it did in the sixties.
This band...this BAND! Wow! I'd had that emotional epiphany that comes to a young guy at some point (for me, at age 11) that not only were girls not the 'enemy,' they were ALL THAT. One, in particular, in my 6th grade class, and I was fully head-over-heels in love. And what music was I hearing during this? Classics IV! I'd do my paper route with a transistor radio and hearing this when I thought of her. Wow...some strong memories!
Lovely piece of music, when things were so much innocent than today and having fun with your loved one was just right , and along came this exellent tune. Ohh!!! the GOOD OL' DAYS OF YORE how much we miss'em. Precious moments that will never come back.
My only complaint about this song was that it was about three minutes too short! It's by far and away my fave Classics IV song. I absolutely love the close out from 2:00 on, especially the whimsical little whistling that takes us out of the song. That sort of musical layering just wouldn't play today, and I think that is just a damn shame.

The Classics IV Web site announced the death. Mr. Yost had been hospitalized since suffering a brain injury in a fall in 2006. The cause was respiratory failure, a hospital spokesman told The Associated Press.

@lvyost Thank you so much!! Several months ago i sent an email to the address on their official website, and the person who wrote me back wasn't even able to answer that question. Back when I was in elementary school I was in a summer program where they used to take us to the pool at Jackson high school.
@girlsixdiva The official website should be able to answer any questions about The Classics IV....if they can't they usually forward to me or to the lead singer, Tom, but it must have fallen thru the cracks. So sorry..however, anytime you need to know something about the group or myself, or Dennis, just email on their website and you will get a prompt answer in the future. That is so cool that you went to Andrew Jackson too...Dennis drove me by there and I thought " If walls could talk!
@lvyost oh wait a minute, Jackson is on Main st. I actually took a summer school class there back in 1995 or 1996. I can't remember if that's where I went swimming when I was little, but anyway I think it's so cool I took a class at the same school the Classics IV went to!!!
@girlsixdiva I'm not sure of the names, but the rival school (and rival band) was Lynrd Skynrd. In fact, Leslie Hawkins of of LS was my maid of honor when Dennis and I were married! :o). I happy you're happy!
@girlsixdiva Actually Dennis didn't sing much around the house or in the car...not even in the shower! He wouldn't sing at our wedding and used to always tease me saying "If I sing will you pay me?" When I'd say no...he'd say "Then I'm not singing!"
I did get to hear him sing lots between rehearsing and shows, and producing records, I even loved to hear his talking voice...esp on the phone. He had a sexy, beautiful voice.I miss him so much!
@lvyost I want to thank you for having such a wonderful husband his music was a big part of my life growing up in New Orleans, La. I was born in 1962 and I will cherish those memories till the day I die.I loved The Classics IV.
@renecrod3 Thank YOU for the kind words about Dennis. However, you can still hear The Classics IV on CDs and in live performances. They just did a show in IL last night and I know they're going to be at the Largo(FL) Cultural Center in Jan 2011,

@hackman1911 Actually Dennis grew up in the USA, but his grandmother came from England. Yea, if you look and many of the sixties groups, many (not just English) had lots of messed up teeth! Thank goodness we get them fixed today as children!
my little 4 yr old son "discovered" music and he would sing this the best he could , he really loved and he sang it as " sweeter than a baby boy". This baby boy is now 44 yrs old and is still crazy about it

GREAT POST--great band--God I'm thankful I was around in the 60's /70's to appreciate that eras music---because what tries to pass itself off as music today is horrible
This is such a beautiful song, I perfectly remember when I heard this song for first time it was September 1969 I was in 5th grade in El Salvador, it was one afternoon after my dance group from school did a presentation I took the bus back home and I heard it on the bus radio since then I really love it, indeed R.I.P. Dennis I'm sure you are now a part of the angels choir up there
This song reminds me of my days living in Ventura, California 1969-70. My dad was in the Air Force stationed in Vietnam, and he wanted the family to live near my mother's parents in Ventura while he was away. He came back safe and alive and we moved on to Niagara Falls, New York. My dad died on November 2, 2009 at the age of 73, and I will always miss him.
This is vocal solos before they were 'doctored' by
sound machines like poor Country Western Goldie Locks last night trying to do a duet with Stevie Nicks. It was awful. God even Tanya Tucker
impressed me more in days past, even LeAnn Rimes. It's truly a sign of the times. Fads, and pop that is 'en vogue' rule but not because of real talent.
@PinkLederhosen This was such a simple "feel good" song that sent a message that we would all hope to hear at some point in our lives; and we're lucky and blessed if we did!!
This song was used as the opening for the film "The Chicken Chronicles". Other songs done Dennis Yost And The Classics Four filled the movie's soundtrack also.
Thank God for his bad teeth! The words and melody that came forth was nothing short of pop/rock legend! He will be missed..... His style taught many a teen center band singer (me included) the way to sing a power ballad....
Thank you so much for this vid. chuck. Dennis Yost's voice has always been one of my favorite things to listen to, especially on this particular song. And the whole structure of the tune is really great!
On July 11, 2006, while recovering at home in a suburb of Cincinnati, Yost fell down a flight of stairs and suffered serious brain trauma. Although Yost subsequently underwent a significant amount of rehabilitation, he was never again able to perform. Yost died of respiratory failure, on December 7, 2008, at the age of 65.
altho' my music generation is the 80's and 90's...i find myself drawn to the music from this era more than anything...this is a beautiful song and one that i enjoy listening to...A LOT...
que cancion tan buena estos cuates me gustaban desde que tenia 4 años, la cancion tiene excelente letra, buen ritmo pero sobre todo es super melodiosa
Dennis Yost has such a beautiful voice not to mention some great song s like Stormy my favorite then Traces, every girl and Spooky. I really think the drummer is hot in the video. And the other guys in the band are very talented and not to shabby looking either. I grew up in the sixties as a child so I did not appreciate their music like I do now. Now I can really listen and never get tired of their music because there just is not the talent like there was back then. Thank you for posting this...
That is one great Love song... It is very simple, But the women sure love it... LOL The Classics IV had 4 big Hits that I like very much... Spooky,Stormy,Traces of Love, And this song " Everyday with you Girl " We need more bands like this one...
great and beauty song, makes me remember my happy childhood.

@barbie042560 Dennis was the drummer until Spooky became a hit and they added Kim Veneble to play drums and put Dennis out as front man.

That is one great Love song... It is very simple, But the women sure love it... LOL The Classics IV had 4 big Hits that I like very much... Spooky,Stormy,Traces of Love, And this song " Everyday with you Girl " We need more bands like this one...
