  • great and beauty song, makes me remember my happy childhood.

  • 1:10 made me think this had something to do with Jay Leno.

  • I dedicate this song to my wife Margarita of 16 years. After all these years I am still madly in love with you!

  • Does anybody know who the drummer is in this video?

  • this song was written by dean daughtry and budie buie. actually they wrote all thier hits. they left the band and went on to form the atlanta rhythm section. who went on to huge success, while the classics iv went downhill.

  • I didnt know Jay Lenno was a classic IV!

  • 1969 best summer I ever had.

  • it always help to have Frankenstein in ur band!

  • They were a great group, what a lovely voice he had.....their music is a big part of the 60's culture.........

  • what a song... awesome!!! imagine the lyrics...every day i love you more and more and more and more and more, and when i go to sleep at night time, tomorrow is what i pray for, cause everyday with you girl, is sweeter then the day before. wow!!!

  • The combination of Dennis' great voice and the haunting melodic tenor sax hasn't been matched in the last 40 years.. sounds just as perfect as it did in the sixties.

  • Great song and fun video of the time. God Bless you Dennis, we fans will always remember your fantastic contributions to American pop!

  • beautiful song.. Lots of memories.... awesome video

  • Perfect song for a late sunny afternoon!

  • This band...this BAND! Wow! I'd had that emotional epiphany that comes to a young guy at some point (for me, at age 11) that not only were girls not the 'enemy,' they were ALL THAT. One, in particular, in my 6th grade class, and I was fully head-over-heels in love. And what music was I hearing during this? Classics IV! I'd do my paper route with a transistor radio and hearing this when I thought of her. Wow...some strong memories!

  • I love this band!

  • love this song, great video!

  • I remember this on tv at about 1974. Doesn't seem that long ago.

  • Lovely piece of music, when things were so much innocent than today and having fun with your loved one was just right , and along came this exellent tune. Ohh!!! the GOOD OL' DAYS OF YORE how much we miss'em. Precious moments that will never come back.

  • My only complaint about this song was that it was about three minutes too short! It's by far and away my fave Classics IV song. I absolutely love the close out from 2:00 on, especially the whimsical little whistling that takes us out of the song. That sort of musical layering just wouldn't play today, and I think that is just a damn shame.

  • I loved that era! The music, fashion, the lads, sigh!

  • This was filmed in Milton Berle's basement.

  • @mrentertainment43 Milton Berle must have had an enormous basement ....as well.

  • great song!!!! I remember it well........and thanks for posting.

  • great tunes by this band, had some great memories, thank you dennis & the band!!!!!

  • @wandaWomanChunk i agree with you in all you said about Dennis death... please everybody has to know what are you saying because is true.

From Canada a Dennis Yost's FAN FOREVER AND EVER.

  • Dennis Yost did not die of pancreatic cancer. Please read the following: Dennis Yost, the lead singer with the rock group the Classics IV,” died on Sunday in Hamilton, Ohio. He was 65.

The Classics IV Web site announced the death. Mr. Yost had been hospitalized since suffering a brain injury in a fall in 2006. The cause was respiratory failure, a hospital spokesman told The Associated Press.

  • Dennis Yost 10 July 1941-7 December 2008. He died of pancreatic cancer like Michael Landon.

  • Great video!

  • Great sond and video! This is the music I grew up to! Linda was Dennis ever married to a girl name Pam in the 70's when he lived in Kissimmee?

  • Dennis Yost had a son named David, who played Billy the Blue Ranger on the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers.

  • Wish the video was clearer. Not bad for an early music video, tho. Thanks for posting it!

  • nice song

  • That chick is hot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @Ivyost Thanks so much for the info. Your husband had such a beautiful voice. I love to listen to the Classic IV timeless classics. Never get tired of their music. I wish the radio stations would play their songs more often

  • No, they had paid actresses for the girlfriends/wives for this video

  • I'm digging those black tuck and roll Kustom amps they're using. Classic........

  • I ditto hellgate64

  • go back and listen to ...traces...timeless

  • these guys went on and formed the Atlanta Rhythm Section, with many people from this line up.

  • This group is from Jacksonville originally. Anyone know what high school they went to?

  • @girlsixdiva Dennis went to Andrew Jackson High School, where he was head of the marching band drum section and was also in a drum and bugle corp.

  • @lvyost Thank you so much!! Several months ago i sent an email to the address on their official website, and the person who wrote me back wasn't even able to answer that question. Back when I was in elementary school I was in a summer program where they used to take us to the pool at Jackson high school.

  • @girlsixdiva The official website should be able to answer any questions about The Classics IV....if they can't they usually forward to me or to the lead singer, Tom, but it must have fallen thru the cracks. So sorry..however, anytime you need to know something about the group or myself, or Dennis, just email on their website and you will get a prompt answer in the future. That is so cool that you went to Andrew Jackson too...Dennis drove me by there and I thought " If walls could talk!

  • @lvyost oh wait a minute, Jackson is on Main st. I actually took a summer school class there back in 1995 or 1996. I can't remember if that's where I went swimming when I was little, but anyway I think it's so cool I took a class at the same school the Classics IV went to!!!

  • @girlsixdiva I'm not sure of the names, but the rival school (and rival band) was Lynrd Skynrd. In fact, Leslie Hawkins of of LS was my maid of honor when Dennis and I were married! :o). I happy you're happy!

    Linda Yost

  • @lvyost WOWWW!! you're the lead singer's widow? OMG that must've been so awesome to be married to a guy with such a wonderful singing voice!

  • @girlsixdiva Actually Dennis didn't sing much around the house or in the car...not even in the shower! He wouldn't sing at our wedding and used to always tease me saying "If I sing will you pay me?" When I'd say no...he'd say "Then I'm not singing!"

I did get to hear him sing lots between rehearsing and shows, and producing records, I even loved to hear his talking voice...esp on the phone. He had a sexy, beautiful voice.I miss him so much!

  • @lvyost I want to thank you for having such a wonderful husband his music was a big part of my life growing up in New Orleans, La. I was born in 1962 and I will cherish those memories till the day I die.I loved The Classics IV.

  • @renecrod3 Thank YOU for the kind words about Dennis. However, you can still hear The Classics IV on CDs and in live performances. They just did a show in IL last night and I know they're going to be at the Largo(FL) Cultural Center in Jan 2011,

That's the closest to you right now. Keep on listening!

  • Such great words of love! They don't write them like this anymore. Every guy should remember to tell his girl these words!!!! Often!!!!

Dennis Yost is no longer with us but he left behind a BEAUTIFUL song.

Thanks chuckbenjamin for sharing this video!

  • the singer must be british, look at those teeth!

  • @hackman1911 Actually Dennis grew up in the USA, but his grandmother came from England. Yea, if you look and many of the sixties groups, many (not just English) had lots of messed up teeth! Thank goodness we get them fixed today as children!

  • @lvyost oh also, are you featured in this video?

  • my little 4 yr old son "discovered" music and he would sing this the best he could , he really loved and he sang it as " sweeter than a baby boy". This baby boy is now 44 yrs old and is still crazy about it

  • amazing how well this holds up. i sometimes but their "best of" cd in repeat mode ... for the whole day!

  • Yet another classic US 60s pop single from the Classics IV. They were on the Liberty label here in GB. I still have the original vinyl singles and LPs (US issue LPs as you couldn't get them easily here) in the loft.

  • @LizardKingJimLA69 Dennis always wanted to do a tour of England, but unfortunately never did.....thank God we have the recordings!!!!!

  • SOME OF THE BEST MUSIC STARTED AROUND THE GEORGIA AND FLORIDA AREA...CLASSICS IV...STARBUCK...JOE SOUTH, BILLY JOE ROYAL...BOBBY GOLDSBORO...THE SOUTH HAD ALOT TO OFFER IN THE MUSIC FIELD...NOT JUST LA. AND NEW YORK.

  • Great song. Thanks for the time.

    One Love

  • @LOSSHIPPYS

  • GREAT POST--great band--God I'm thankful I was around in the 60's /70's to appreciate that eras music---because what tries to pass itself off as music today is horrible

  • God I miss the 60s

  • R.I.P. Dennis Yost, the lead singer of Classics IV

  • I like this song very much.... It's beautiful and this reminds me of Weston

  • This is such a beautiful song, I perfectly remember when I heard this song for first time it was September 1969 I was in 5th grade in El Salvador, it was one afternoon after my dance group from school did a presentation I took the bus back home and I heard it on the bus radio since then I really love it, indeed R.I.P. Dennis I'm sure you are now a part of the angels choir up there

  • @vanlatino -i was in the 7th grade.

  • This song reminds me of my days living in Ventura, California 1969-70. My dad was in the Air Force stationed in Vietnam, and he wanted the family to live near my mother's parents in Ventura while he was away. He came back safe and alive and we moved on to Niagara Falls, New York. My dad died on November 2, 2009 at the age of 73, and I will always miss him.

  • This is vocal solos before they were 'doctored' by

sound machines like poor Country Western Goldie Locks last night trying to do a duet with Stevie Nicks. It was awful. God even Tanya Tucker

impressed me more in days past, even LeAnn Rimes. It's truly a sign of the times. Fads, and pop that is 'en vogue' rule but not because of real talent.

  • I agree Mighty Satrun5. RIP Dennis. Love his voice. He came along at a great time in history and his songs take me right back.

  • @PinkLederhosen This was such a simple "feel good" song that sent a message that we would all hope to hear at some point in our lives; and we're lucky and blessed if we did!!

  • God bless Dennis

  • Evryday with this song iny mind!

  • Haven't heard this song in years !

Thanks for posting this Chuck !

    Great Song.

  • Is this a record playing?

    COOL!!

  • This video was filmed at the Iowa state fair. If you look closely, Dennis Yost is chatting up Hayden Fry by the cotton candy booth.

  • In what city was the Iowa State Fair held? My mom lived in Red Oak. Thanks!

  • Such innocence!!!!!! I miss music like this!!!

    R.I.P Dennis

  • I agree! there was no American Idle, these groups had talent, and were not manufactured

  • A nice little promo film. I hope a better quality color version eventually makes its way onto youtube.

Members of the Classics IV ended up forming the Atlanta Rhythm Section.

    RIP Dennis Yost

  • He is missed, but never forgotten. Dennis Yost.

  • Jay leno at 1:10.

  • This song was used as the opening for the film "The Chicken Chronicles". Other songs done Dennis Yost And The Classics Four filled the movie's soundtrack also.

  • Thank God for his bad teeth! The words and melody that came forth was nothing short of pop/rock legend! He will be missed..... His style taught many a teen center band singer (me included) the way to sing a power ballad....

  • i love this song. i heard the girl in this video played the girl in the partridge family and later was josette in dark shadows

  • Thank you so much for this vid. chuck. Dennis Yost's voice has always been one of my favorite things to listen to, especially on this particular song. And the whole structure of the tune is really great!

  • This song has wonderful structure.

  • 60's song,I remember this classic.Great voice

  • he was great. why did he dye?

  • His hair probably got really gray, so he "dyed" it.

  • He took a bad fall and never recovered.

  • On July 11, 2006, while recovering at home in a suburb of Cincinnati, Yost fell down a flight of stairs and suffered serious brain trauma. Although Yost subsequently underwent a significant amount of rehabilitation, he was never again able to perform. Yost died of respiratory failure, on December 7, 2008, at the age of 65.

  • Illiteracy is a terrible thing.

  • love it... keep em coming... :)

  • altho' my music generation is the 80's and 90's...i find myself drawn to the music from this era more than anything...this is a beautiful song and one that i enjoy listening to...A LOT...

  • you shoulda been born in the 50s like a lot of us lol

  • well, my parents' generation is the 50's so i'm blessed to be able to listen to their favorite music and like it as well...

  • Dennis, RIP. You had a wonderful voice, and will be missed.

  • I love this song...hey they missed one, for now.

  • Drummer is hot!

  • Midnigth....when?

  • Dennis Yost has such a beautiful voice not to mention some great song s like Stormy my favorite then Traces, every girl and Spooky. I really think the drummer is hot in the video. And the other guys in the band are very talented and not to shabby looking either. I grew up in the sixties as a child so I did not appreciate their music like I do now. Now I can really listen and never get tired of their music because there just is not the talent like there was back then. Thank you for posting this...

  • @barbie042560 Dennis was the drummer until Spooky became a hit and they added Kim Veneble to play drums and put Dennis out as front man.

  • Nice, older video. Really enjoyed it!

  • That is one great Love song... It is very simple, But the women sure love it... LOL The Classics IV had 4 big Hits that I like very much... Spooky,Stormy,Traces of Love, And this song " Everyday with you Girl " We need more bands like this one...

  • Nice promotional video!!

  • thanks, i just want to watch this!
