He is one of the worlds best guitarists, many will say that. But I will say this, James is 1,000,000 times better than kirk with writing riffs and kirk is about 100 times better than James at writing solos. Yea kirk uses wah wah sometimes, but alot of his wah wah solos ound madd, like "Don't Tread on me", "Wherever I may roam" "Dyers Eve" "Battery". They are all madd wah wah solos.

Old Metallica is awesome. Bob Rock came along and taught the the art of lthe three minute radio friendly song. I think he commercialized a band of rebels and ruined a great thing. Black album was O.K. It had some good riffs. But nothing even comes close to the early years. Just my opinion. I'm a fan clear back to Dave and Cliff. Metal up all your asses!! Peace
