@718mattmatt I'ms sure it could as I had a Win98 Box running for a while before the Hard Drive died, as long as it has at least 128mb of RAM, a decent enough GPU, and a web browser like Firefox or Oprea, then yes it can be as fast as XP, or in some cases faster!

Try it in microsoft virtual PC, I had it up and running with no problems. I can't even get as far as you got with VirtualBox tho. If I try in virtualBox I just get a "Fatal Error".

I used VirtualPC before I got my MacMini I managed to get VPC to work on my PC as it had XP Home Edition so it would throw up errors.

I used it until Nov 09 when I got my Mac, I do want to run Windows in Boot Camp so I can use VPC again.

Well that computer I used is now well as you put it "fucking" dead, I run all my Virtual Machines under Mac OS X on a Mac Mini (2009) in Virtual Box!

(And that computers MAX RAM was 512MB)

I used to use Windows 98 and it does rock, I just don't like the way Windows is designed & built as it is heavily reliant on DLLs and Registry.

I use Mac, Windows & Linux, and Windows is my eyes is shit.

Yes I Would Love To Use Windows 98 Everyday But As Hardware and Software maker don't supported it anymore I dumped it in 2005 for Windows XP!

The Reason I Made It Crash Was The Emulation Software I Was Using had No Drivers For Windows 98.

install the virtualbox additions and you will have some drivers working like sound and video

Update on this I now have a 2009 Mac Mini and a 2002 PowerBook G4 and I still have the Macintosh Performa 6200 it;s all good!
