If you don't mind, I need easy steps I can remember. In my learning process so far, I'm guessing that the steps to draw should be: Sketch, then outlines, then inking, then base colors, then gradients, then highlights and shadows. Is that an acceptable format?
Also, how do you go about layers? I have 1 layer for sketch, 1 layer for outlines, 1 layer for inking, 1 layer for all gradients, 1 layer for shadows and highlights. What would be best? How do you do it?
@allisondevin It's just a personal preference but this is my process: Sketch, inking, flat colors, shadows, medium light, highlights and reflected lights and effects.
I usually create one layer per shading and finally I merge them and blend the colors when needed (with dodge and burn tool).
Holy shit! So this was drawn on paper and then you did the rest on photoshop? I am wondering because I have photoshop, and I suck at drawing on the computer. So please let me know. that is awesome though.
@Budzich Maybe if you research on your own you will discover that I own a blog with lot of tutorials and resources. I also have a Facebook page where I share work in progress images and maybe a Deviantart page, where I'm an active member.
cool and i like the speedy, but do you still need a web cam for that or does the camtasia software capture the screen. sorry for such a silly question
You know if you could to the same coloring and lighting on photos you would be rich. Look at Robert Alvarado's work. Alot of pin up photographers search all the time for this technique.... me being one of em. I decided to look at illustrators to see their methods.... Great Job.
@EmpireOneMedia Actually I can do hiperrealistic paintings and photoretouch, but I enjoy illustration much more, and being honest I can't complain about my rates.
Hey there, nice work =]. What exactly did you do to make the black outline match the skin tone (around 0:12)? It happened too fast for me to see what happened.
When adding the logos to the gloves, how did you get the transformation controls to allow you to warp the logo inward and outward like that? IM DYING TO KNOW - Alty
hi, im sorry..i recently downloaded the illustration photoshop from adobe and i don't know how to set it up. The only thing that pops up are all folders and they confuse me :'( Can u help me please? :"(
hi, you did a great job on this. I am planning to turn my sketches into a cartoon but what kind of photoshop software should i get for my macbook and where should i go get them? I really need an advice because i've been stuck on project for a very long time now
