Now Adobe fans can understand the frustration Macromedia users ran into when Adobe bought them. Adobe has become an evil and empire with unstable and invasive products IMO.
I love being able to do multiplatform stuff with Air... But I have to say performance on the iPhone4 at least is not that good :( I'm able to get my game "Super Ninja Skydiving Plus Zombies" running on my nexus one and most android devices at 30fps+ but on the iPhone it runs at like 13. I hope that they release the stage3D stuff for mobile soon! Then I think Air will become visibly more appealing to more developers (if it runs as fast as they say it will).
Thank you for your views on Flash. I've found that majority of web devs/designers who know anything about Flash, all have the view that Flash is dead. This is annoying to me but in some ways they are correct. My response is simply Flash has re-incarnated into an App development tool.
Excellent advice Brent. Very straightforward, and as you said at the end, you kept it real. Thanks so much. Looking forward to more vids from you in 2012!
I think that Adobe should stop Flash from being used for ad banners because this is giving Flash a bad name with many examples of poorly designed overlay banners and auto playing video and audio banners which just annoy the user and kills the UX of any website stone dead.
Apache Flex? What is that? Tell us more...
Keep up the good work and let us have some more videos! :)
I'm an ActionScript developer who is also moving more and more into mobile development. I'm teaching myself Android (Java), iOS (yuckie Objective C), Unity3D and the UDK (Unreal Development Kit) as there isn't a lot of work around right now. I still Love to build games in Flash using Flixel and/or Flash Punk frameworks...
