  • I also love this umbrella . . . . I own the Pure black XL, i am lucky to have a retail shop near me. I wouldn't see myself using any other umbrella.

  • best umbrella i've ever rested my eyes on. i own one myself bought it from a website called umbrellaworld.co.uk they have a great selection with new styles too! senz :-)

  • i'd say the umbrealla would be a great protection against flying debris, with fibre materials to can withstand flying shards etc

  • YOU SHALL NOT PASS!!!

  • Also, I have the large beige senz, and while I love the silhouette of it, the umbrella seems to fall short with certain material quality. The canopy fabric material seems a bit cheap, same with the handle and shaft, so that kind of affects the aesthetics of it. I'm thinking about getting an UZO asymmetrical umbrella in red now. The material quality seems a whole lot better, though it's more than double the price :'(

  • If it's that windy, the rain will be coming at you horizontally. In that situation, any umbrella is useless. It's best to invest in a rain coat/trench.

  • Under this situation, you should choose raincoat. FYI

  • In Japan, I bought the mini, handle bent on a wind gust. I upgraded to the big one, hoping its gonna be better. After a 1.5 years the big Senz wont lock into place anymore. The store I bought it told me that Senz Japan cannot do anything about it if its out of warranty. Senz offered to fix it for $15-$18 service fee + shipping will be on me, that's about $30-$35...but a malfunctioning lock is a manufacturing defect! This product's value is good for a year only, after that its value is gone.

  • Excellent product. I used a Senz mini very happily for a year and a half, then the handle broke (meanwhile still protecting me from wind and rain, mind you!) but Senz customer care replaced it for free because they have 100% faith in their product. Hats off to Senz! ;-)

  • It' s just big enough to keep the bold spot on my head from getting wet.

    Great marketing guys!

  • I love this umbrella ! I bought one immediately . . .

  • Mary Poppins would LOVE that!

  • name of this soundtrack?

  • @LinkinDave92 broads of canada- Dayvan Cowboy

  • Let's face it, using a normal umbrella against the wind effectively turns it into a sail, with you as the captain, doomed to go down with it. Which is the exact reason this is invented.

You people are essentially argueing about a product which has NO alternative.

I have it, love it and can't see myselfe using anything else. Nor will I need to as it has a lide long warranty.

  • For whoever doesn't undersrand its purpose, the umbrella won't break or even be hard to handle in any realistic weather condition. I have never used this umbrella with two hands NEVER not on my bike, scooter or whatever.

Next, people who don't understand the concept of blocking rain. Rain falls down or is blown at an angle, getting something in between will make you stay dry. Yes the wind will pass under it more easily, but I have never failed to one handedly find a sweetspot.

    And let's fsce i

  • Haha, Another Crazy Dutch Invention! But every umbrella user sure knows how useful this thing can be. How many times my standard umbrella has broken i can not recount.

  • missione compiuta 1:32

  • i see that it protects from wind. But what about from rains, weird shape = rain hitting all over my body.

  • umbrellas inverting in the wind is a feature not a flaw. If they didn't do this they would rip out of our hands from the force of the wind.

  • @Nettsky: it comes in three sizes, including XL. It's a wonderful invention, very stable in the wind.

  • it's so damn small, what's the point?

  • seriously? would you go out in the rain when it storms like crazy @ 100 mph????

  • @priyamvadha123 only idiots

  • If the wind achieves 100km/h and above, I don't think the umbrella is useful to me anymore. Lol.

  • how about a bullet proof umbrella?

  • Did you notice that it was never raining??? ;D

  • Damn. I really want one, but I live in Denmark which have zero retailers :(

  • @peterhejlejensen Introducing: The Internet.

  • So you've designed an umbrella who's sole purpose is to keep its shape in circumstances that make an umbrella completely useless.

I'll be more impressed when you design an umbrella that attempts to block the rain from hitting the user.

  • @kraemer66

What? The only thing you worry about in rain is rain? You never broke an umbrella before? When the wind destroys your umbrella, you'll know how great this umbrella is.

  • What's the music?

  • by 1:00 I'd be less worried about getting wet and more worried about a stray penny dashing through my forehead.

  • @theevmeister lmao i know right!!

  • Looks like it will stand up to wind, but where is the rain?

  • Looks like a nice umbrella for big butt people.

  • Id rather pay to be in that wind tunnel. that has to be fun as hell.

  • @HavikZeroX

with 70mph winds I don't know how long I'd be outside anyway.

  • @DETHMETALCARTOONS I know right, finally another realistic person.

  • Who skydives in such crazy chemtrails at 2:44? :S

  • Wow! Woot!

  • Wie is de MF-er op 2.00???

    Groeten van Roy "R"

  • Whilst its a great umbrella, half the clip is just a bunch of self gratifying accolades, and why do they only show the first few seconds of the sky dive 3 or 4 times? did it break after the first few seconds?

  • @wishes1973

...So if you can't go skydiving with it, it's not a great umbrella? : p

  • yea it deals with the wind by not the rain so.....yea useless.

  • if your gonna be out in a storm with winds at 130 km/h, who gives a f**k about a damn umbrella? lol

  • lol....like seriously...I woulda evacuated

  • Dayvan Cowboy by Boards of Canada

  • Plase would you tell me about the song it's simply wonderful

    Thanks a lot

  • why would you walk in 100km/h wind? hahah this is useless..

  • this is just to demonstrate what it can withstand. Doesn't mean you're going to walk out in a hurricane.

  • False advertising.

Search: Senz Umbrella comparison test with Billy Goat 13HP leaf blower. A regular umbrella is just as good if you know how to hold an umbrella. duh.

  • @jimbobuddy25 No, the Billy Goat test is invalid.

    1) He compared the Folding Senz with thinner jointed ribs (rated at 40nph) to a huge full size umbrella

    2) The Senz auto-spins to aerodynamically let wind pass when held upright. The way it was held defeated this feature

    3) A leaf blower focuses air into a small area, which also prevents #2 from working. This condition does not occur in nature.

    Duh.

  • The Billy Goat is not perfect but does prove that THIS video is very misleading.

  • @jimbobuddy25 wrote: "A regular umbrella is just as good if you know how to hold an umbrella. duh."

The point of the Senz is that it automatically defeats the wind with minimal effort when held upright.. You'd have to constantly aim a normal umbrella toward the wind. At 30-40 mph, the wind would probably flip a folding umbrella before your reflexes could react. And try aiming when your other hand is full.

A regular umbrella is not just as good. "Duh."

  • yep, Boards of Canada - Dayvan Cowboy.. awesome track...nice brolly too!

  • Gotta love good design. And the soundtrack is pretty awesome too.

  • somebody know the track on this video?

  • The song is called Dayvan Cowboy by Boards of Canada - one of my faves :D

  • what's the song at the end?

  • if you were outside and it was blowing 70 mph and raining, the rain wouldnt drop down on you, it would be going towards you horizontally, making the umbrella totally useless :\

  • you are right. I experienced this one week ago. My jeans was totally soaked but this umbrella is a genius product anyway.

  • It doesn't generally come at you at an extreme horizontal angle ever (of course, special situations change that).

Now, if you are out in 70mph wind with rain, would you ever expect to be dry? Or for that matter, be able to keep an umbrella up and not have it break? That is something this umbrella can do.

  • The rain would blow with the wind.

  • if the rain goes horizontally, it will never reach you since you're on the ground and the clouds in the sky

and also, you can just turn the ubrella so it's facing forward

  • air can drop at high velocity, then spread over the ground horizontally. If this happens combined with heavy rain nothing can keep socks and trousers dry. But even under these extreme conditions this umbrella keeps my glasses dry enough to see where I'm going. Really, talking from experience. No, Prrrt, you can not turn this umbrella, it turns itself. And even the strongest wind can not rip it out of my hands.

  • haha, at 1:17 it looked like it was gunna kill him

  • im totally buying this for hurricane season

  • lol if the wind would realy be that strong you wouldnt need an umbrella youll need a bomb shelter xD

  • Perfect choice of music

  • what if the wind blows from the back? o.o

  • Turn it around maybe?

  • lol ! xD

  • This umbrella turns itself around, it's aerodynamic

  • I love Boards of Canada
