@GlambertGirl2010 are you white/native Canada calls that metis the official word non status...I am non status metis and I think we are an original race of people as in we fit no where really...It took me half a life time to feel like I belonged anywhere...culture plays such a major role in who we are...and the navajo people carry the halogroup x gene which is indo-european by the way it is why they look like they do...so do the ojibiway, the souix,algonquin and and cherokee

@lucy9359 Im 50 + percent Ojibwe and a little Iriqouis. Also european on my fathers side, but i didnt get his genes, i got my mothers. therefore i dont look white. And yes im aware of the genes.

I've lived for over half a century, and all I can say is she can do and look and sing whatever way she wants. All I know is I enjoy listening to her videos as much as I do Kirsten Flagstad singing Wagner.

Jana is a beautiful girl, she has an amazing voice, but the most important of all, she is a first class human being. I love the work ahe does with the native kids.

I think it's great what she does - everyone should be proud of their heritage. My wife is 1/2 Ojibwe and won't even claim it.
