With the apple earphones you can pause and switch also, just press both volume buttons on the earphone one -> pause and twice for the next song.

Also, to add a little relevance to my previous comment. I will say that the new Apple In-Ear Headphones are really good. For only $80 bucks, the two independent drivers give great sound in both the treble and bass. Also, the included mic makes them compatible with the iPhone. Only downside is that the volume rocket on the new In-Ears AREN'T compatible with the iPhone, only the new iPod Classic, 2nd Gen Touch, and 4th Gen Nano. Oh well, at least iPhones have an external volume rocker on the side.

Some good cheap headphones are Skullcandy buds. They run around $20-50 and uhh... Don't trust the pricing for quality, because the Ink'd Smokin' Buds have the exact same specs as the Titans.
