Joe Sample's "My Mama Told Me So." A very spare arrangement but it sounds great like this. Hearing Larry doing all the melody alone is awesome. I'd love to hear him do this on an album. Travis's funk work back there is great too, and the shuffle groove by Gene is different from Stix's work. I think I like the groove here even better than on the original.

Perfect starter. I was at this show and this opening was so right on. The 2nd piece (that road) was a bit dissappointing, but the other pieces were also very nice. Great feel, blue notes, blue chords, hooks everywhere. Very enjoyable.
