  • I MISS LUCKERS SOOOO MUCH :( Best unit there ever was.

  • this is game looks much better than sc2~ check those arts work so realistic

  • Map?

  • darn it HD you make me wanna play broodwar again after like 6 years xD

  • HD you are such a SC1 noob, vulture's attack does not work, to counter DS you use spider mine, which works really well.

  • did they improve the graphics of brood? seems to look so much better

  • Sorry but nerfing the zerg? seriously? zerg is really hard to play

  • omg i miss when ZvT was so fun.. now its only fun for the terran to watch the zerg try so hard just to beat your terran build

  • i watch sc2 vids everyday like 6 a day, i enjoy and understand them. but when it comes to playing I'm a bronze level player ( the lowest tier). i just don't know what to do to get better at playing sc2.

  • @urbaneditz constantly build workers, don't get supply blocked, choose 1 tech path (don't go every tech available) and build a lot of shit, that's it.

when that stops working, the next step to scout and see what your enemy is doing, bronzies mostly do 1 unit only so you build any counter unit or even the same unit, just build more than him and crush him; immortals vs thors will make terrans QQ OP!:D

Next step is to have a single expansion so you can have more shit than him.

    Welcome to gold.:)

  • Hey anyone out there with free time to watch some sc2 it'd be great if you could check out my channel and give me some input on watcha think! Thank You!

  • BroodWar's music feels more epic than SC2's

  • @MrForbiddenCherry I don't play Brood War (yet) but I have the entire soundtrack on my iPod.

  • Anybody else think the sound effects in Starcraft I sound more powerful and cool? I LOVE IT! :D

  • More Brood war!!! ;]

  • I miss the days where zerg buildings looked like organs that were spilled onto the ground.....

  • they need to introduce some artificial intelligence programming scripts into the game to automate different build orders. as a low level player, i absolutely refuse to become a fuckin build order memorizing robot.

  • I miss medics and firebats :(

  • Comment removed

  • I dont understand properly why i love watching these vids so much....

  • I missed seeing you cast broodwar! :D

  • Brood war > wings of liberty.

  • blizz needs to bring back the lurker. Also when the protoss expansion for SC2 comes out they should bring in a new and improved carrier.

  • AAAH please stop calling sunken colonies spine crawlers HD : (

  • Uhm HD... how uninformed are you? The carrier has already been killed and replaced.... holy cow this happened months ago and you're still speculating??

  • HD can you cast julyzerg's 'sauron zerg' game? the replay might be hard to find but theres a vod on the violetak account

  • @Mokumo YES PLEASE

  • Its cool that you cast Broodwar again, BUT how could you possible make so much mistakes? Man you used to be a really good Broodwar caster!

    Pull yourself together.

  • moar

  • What does the orange smoke do? lol

  • @K3rriganZerg it's called dark swarm. it negates all missile attacks under it. For instance, if a marine attacks a zergling that is under dark swarm, the zergling does not get hit. Zergling is a melee unit, thus when it attacks marine, marine takes damage. The only exception is splash damage--Siege Mode's splash damage will be inflicted in the units under the dark swarm. However, if a unit happened to be burrowed under it, even splash can't inflict damage on it. Magic attacks are still valid.

  • @everlasting207 Oh ok thanks man that really helps.

  • @everlasting207 cool i didn't know that burrowed units are immune to splash under dark swarm. thank you

  • SC2 would be much more practical to casual players, if the game was set to speed 'Fast'.

  • @sandjora Broodwar games are played in "fastest" ;)

  • @everlasting207

SC2 looks and feels much faster.

  • @sandjora well said, and agreed.

maybe because of higher fps. I think it's because the workers return the resource way too quickly--more income in less time, more things done in less time, and more skirmishes and all that good stuff that makes Starcraft great game in less time. So I feel that games don't come as epic as BW, and I don't even consider this game as epic... haa..

  • DONT FUCK WITH OUR MUTAS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • love those "stopsopapipa"

  • Unless they implement handicapping in the lower leagues I don't understand how balancing wouldn't effect all levels of play.

  • no HD, the new protoss aircraft was made to replace the carrier from the beginning

  • @Aluzcz Your shitty english is a piece of shit. Read about competitive SCBW and go kill yourself. Lurkers added a high dynamic in the game that entertained countless fans for years. Dumbass.

  • @Aluzcz BW helped level the field and make the game more dynamic in general. medics made terran infantry actually viable. lurkers and devourers made it easier to deal with map control and capital ships, respectively. protoss got a harassment unit besides the reaver, which they desperately needed. zerg in particular were too weak before BW

  • @GoombaDaddy Ok, you have a point but still thouse red archons i think litle bit op for the protoss and the air unis, ee didnt liked them.

  • Mothership isn't being removed because it's useless. It's being removed because it's way too powerful late game pvz.

  • swarm seems kindof imbalanced vs terran

  • @ElectroiceSC it'll be in HotS :D

  • i like the old broodwar music but it seems to me a bit loud. maybe HD could lower the bacrground music a bit?

  • also ask the viewers to stop ACTA

  • "just like in brood war" lol 9:34

  • It will pass.

  • @HDstarcraft Only thing your BW casts are missing are the loud Korean commentators hyping the game up.

  • Can someone please tell me how to keep your minerals low as zerg in BW? i can never get the hang of it in the late game....

  • @RSosage2781 Probably too many drones and not enough bases, you should have about 5 drones per hatchery by mid game with about 4-5 hatcheries (3-4 bases). As a Zerg you are pretty much gas constrained, macro won't be much of a problem once you have enough gas and tech to Ultras. They are very cost efficient with cracklings, and you will actually struggle to use all your larva.

  • I have subscribed to you since you started casting BW, you are also the only one I know who casts HD BW vods! keep up the good work!

  • Brood War > SC2

...only because BW is so balanced from all the time spent on it since 98. SC2 will become better than BW soon, I hope.

  • God i love Broodwar it had the second best sound track of all time

  • I would love to see a mac TvP BW game, you should do it :3

  • so gay

  • @HDstarcraft 5:48 firebats were to prevent possible ling runby.

9:51 3 tanks is absolutely normal- it's almost symbolic of the Terran's timing against zerg before defiler

11:47 vulture's attack doesn't work under dark swarm hd -_-

13:50 in TvZ, after the mid game, because of the Science Vessel's Irradiate attack, mutalisk is considered "Trash".

14:57 the trend is using mech at late game called "late mechanic"

15:52 ultralisk is not effective against the late mechanic build.

    cmon hd! relearn bw!

  • @everlasting207 u can't really blame him haha its been 2 years!

  • @Dirtyyellowboi yeah, I hear you. But the game is EPIC XD Should never forget! hahaaa

  • @everlasting207 Suicide Mine works under swarm :P

  • @JudgementDesu i wanted to write that but it didn't meet the 500 character limit that youtube made. I also wanted to mention that the spider mine was not researched at the moment when he said that lol

  • @everlasting207 u have many videos o.o

  • @MrFazerlogin yes, I do. All of which have no commentary and my newb bw FPVODs. lol

  • @everlasting207 He meant spider mines, they work under DS.

  • @everlasting207 i think he's referring to the vulture's mines

  • @everlasting207 weird, ive only seen late mechanic against toss...does this actually work? Oo i feel like darkswarm would eventually run over the tanks unless there is amazing mine placement

  • @JAFrk In any ZvT games that are over 15 minutes long these days, I assure you that the terran eventually switches to mechanic.TvP is all about mechanic not late mechanic! your comment about how dark swarm would run over the tanks... Once the mech army gets like +2 weapon/armor, the firepower literally penetrates dark swarm.. What you say definitely makes sense, and in this particular game, what you said becomes true with the help of queens, but I think zerg played better in this game than teran

  • @everlasting207

    How rude

  • @capsule56 I don't really see why you think it's rude. I see it as just difference in perspectives--I didn't write it to literally teach HD--I just wrote it to point out, for many other people who may be interested in BW to give them correct explanations. There's a reason why as of now, 29 people have given me thumbs up.

  • @everlasting207 you sound like a dick in real life

  • @1midman thanks, sounds like you are too. I only see it as difference in perspectives though. I understand why you would say that since my comment is literally me just fixing up everything he said wrong, but hey, I didn't write it towards him directly. It was more towards people who actually wanted to know and are deeply interested in BW and wanted to learn more correct info. There's a reason why 29 people don't think that I'm a dick in real life okay :)?

  • Infestor = suck

  • Big spread out armies are so much more interesting than a bunch of death balls =(

  • god i miss that bw music :)

  • ty

  • HD are you the kid who is in the library while we food fight?

  • SUNKEN COLONIES! SUNKEN COLONIES!

    SUN - KEN

    CO - LON - NIES!

    GAAAH!

  • link to this bliz thing ur talking about?

  • what is that background music ?

  • @labobo Ye olde Starcraft soundtrack.

  • blizzard has been pissing me off lately. The fact that they wont balance a game that people payed money for before releasing an expansion demanding more money to fix issues that have plagued the game since beta is despicable. Then they have this new MMO project Titan where they want to put ads inside the game and last but not least, they have the new inhouse real money action house for D3 and Real money Map house for SC2.

  • @draakisback Well, your stuff might sound kinda brutal ; but it has many truth.

    Sadly.

  • sc1 in HD 1080p. EPIC !

  • SAVE THE MOTHERSHIP!

  • wow I'm actually watching HD channel again.

  • the mothership's mass recall ability will be available at the nexus for 75 energy

  • BW YAY!!!! I never got a chance to play this game, but I still love seeing these players since it's such a high skill cap.

I would really like Blizzard to have like a hardmode version of SCII... like no multiple building selection, no worker rally point on top of minerals, individual spell caster selection etc... that would be awesome

  • do siege tanks do dmg to units under swarm?

  • @richy789456123 They only do there splash damage i believe if i remember, all projectiles are mitigated. Only units that do damage are melee (Ling, ultra, firebat, zealot)

  • @richy789456123 Splash.

  • @richy789456123 Yes, but if I remember right, not on the unit that they're directly firing on. Only the units receiving splash damage get hurt??? :-/

  • @richy789456123

sort of. they dont damage the thing they shoot at, but the splash still deals damage.

  • Government wants to rip you off:"ok" Government wants to reign over internet:"DIE"

  • @050Messenger the internet is the only thing keeping me sane from the government ripping me off!

  • Vortex is the most broken thing in the game in my opinion.

  • @whipydip99 yeah good thing it will be gone in hots... now they have to cut the time of forcefields in half and put a FUCKING COOLDOWN ON MULES!!!! ....

  • Wait, BLizzard also said Colossi and HTs were a little strong, but they never nerfed colossi... Really Blizzard, you are being so stupid right now.

  • Thx for he brood Game !!

  • @HDstarcraft As a nice extra you could try out the High-Resolution Mod for Starcraft Broodwar ; which allows you to have a much bigger View ; which is kinda perfect for cast ; less scrolling around, a much bigger view.

So just to notice you, might try it out.

  • @ThisNameIsBanned Ummm, isnt that really buggy (versions I found are), can you tell me where to go if there is a good version?

  • i miss sc2 casts

  • i miss the old unit damage display

  • just so you know, SOPA and PIPA is currently dropped, but there are two other laws that will infringe against on our internet freedom, and they are ACTA and H.R. 1981. make sure you are up to date on that and stop the government and entertainment business to infringe on our internet freedom!

  • I wish starcraft 2 was as fun to watch as BW. They should just make a BW remake with all the graphics

  • @HawaiianB0Y123 True, it simply feels more "strategic".

The "giant" maps make a good part of that as the Unit Selection cap (which pretty much prevents 1 Hotkey groups; which form a giant part of Deathballs in lower level play).

Overall the better "Starcraft" game , in SC2 the battles look like a big "explosion" and everything is dead ; in Sc2 we have an actual "flanking" and real Movements that make a "real" difference (were Sc2 is more or less limited on Stutter-Moves).

  • @HawaiianB0Y123 Still, Sc2 is fun ; but in direct compare, Broodwar is simply the better Strategy Game.

  • @HawaiianB0Y123 Just in case you feel you want a new fresh look at Broodwar.

Theres a "High-Resolution" Mod for it ; gives the game quite a fresh way to play it ; the view is simply more zoomed out ; which is ridiculous cool with a giant monitor.

  • If ACTA doesn't pass internet folks need to be alert for new bills. The government wants to control the internet and the mainstream media are not doing their jobs by informing the public (they only talk about it once its too late). Constant Vigilance guys.

  • @eyen91 I have a great Idea for the future.

We should call the Internet a "country" itself ; a Nation on its own ; with its own Rulez and everything it needs.

I mean, its a bigger "place" than pretty much any country in the world ; and has more "Impact" aswell.

Giving any country a different set of rulez for something that is placed in a virtual world, feels wrong, and will never be a good idea as real life politicians have no idea what they are talking about / not a slightest.

  • I like how many scrubs that is commenting about balance and shit while they actually dont know anything.. Surely every game can be more balanced but both BW and 2 is extremely balanced

  • HD search ACTA its a law even worse the sopa and pipa!

  • People complain about StarCraft II, but please remember how many years it took for Brood War to get where it is today. Keep in mind also that we have two more expansions and many, many updates still to go. I would give it 2-3 years after the release of Legacy of the Void for true balance.

  • @nexus1g In fact, they could take the "knowledge" they have from Broodwar and produce the game good from the start.

But they did not, they do not even want to ; as the game sells better as a Mainstream Game, which means it is not a goal to make it perfectly balanced and "strategic".

As it seems, the game will not become crazy much better, as the unit choices make it the way it is ; unless they completly overhaul every new unit they added (which surprisingly they actual do).

  • @ThisNameIsBanned Your "SMOP" presumption is just asinine. And your belief that a game can't be balanced and mainstream just makes me wonder why you think there's even a logical connection between the two. And you overuse semicolons. It's annoying. Stop it.

  • @nexus1g The point i was talking is just that the units introduced are more a problem in itself ; no matter if you "arrange" the values.

They added a lot of "mobility" and a lot more high range units to the game ; and all of them are somehow problematic at a level of play.

Its not even clear if its an "actual" good thing to be able to select as many units as you want.

Limit it to 8 has quite some good things, its just not "mainstream" ; as the mainstream player does not like to be limited.

  • @ThisNameIsBanned Not to mention that the improper use and overuse of semicolons just makes you look like an idiot.

  • @nexus1g No one care bro; like seriously, why would you even correct grammer on the internet not cool man; further more, if someone likes semi colons, then let them use it; it's not your right to judge.

  • @IAmConscientious It's my prerogative to judge his improper and gratuitous use of semicolons that detracts from his message. I realize it's also your prerogative to complain about my complaints. But you don't really have any business in the argument, do you? If you want to be successful, learn to communicate effectively.

  • Comment removed

  • @259 Oh, I could read and understand it. I never said I couldn't. It was annoying the shit out of me to read it though. If you can't understand that, then you can shove your holier-than-thou attitude up your ass until you bleed.

  • @259 On the other hand, if you do understand where I'm coming from, then you can take your holier-than-thou attitude and again shove it up your ass.

  • @nexus1g If that is true, then the problem here is with you, not with me or with ThisNameIsBanned; you are taking out your frustrations on somebody who doesn't even deserve it and trying to blame him and even me for your problems instead.

  • @259 I'm pretty sure it's his problem, not mine. Like I said, he can use semicolons all he wants. It's a suggestion to at least try to act literate.

  • @nexus1g Are you seriously trying to say that misusing a single punctuation implies a lack of literacy to any degree? That is the kind of didactic attitude I was talking about right there. I and several others have told you how frivolous the matter is, and yet you can't seem and don't want to let go of that.

  • @259 ARE YOU SAYING THAT READING THINGS IS ALL CAPS IS NOT ANNOYING? THERE'S A GOOD REASON THAT THERE IS AN UNSAID PROTOCOL ON THE INTERNET FOR NOT TYPING IN ALL CAPS. IT'S ANNOYING TO READ. Just like there's ; a protocol for ; not overusing; or misusing ; punctuation ; because it makes ; it annoying ; to read. And using uncommon words in an attempt to seem smarter than you would by not using those words is just as annoying. And it's you and one other person, not several people.

  • @nexus1g A valiant effort, but your strawman dissertation and attempt to elucidate through extreme exaggeration has little efficacy nor any actual relevancy.

Now about "getting involved," what you should have already understood is that this is a public forum, and any written posts that you make will be seen by anybody and everybody, and anyone is also free to reply to any commentary you make. If you wanted privacy, then send a send a personal message, else refrain from posting.

  • @259 My argument was neither hyperbole nor strawman and has complete relevancy to the reason for the existence of standards. I said that he may continue using them as he has been, but it makes him look like an idiot and muddles his message. I like how you cherry pick your argument and completely gloss over your being wrong about "several" people having educated me. Talk about bad arguing techniques!

  • @nexus1g You say it makes him look like an idiot, but this is according to whom? Apparently only to yourself. Do you truly believe that not observing such "standards" in writing to even a single error would be justification for accusations of imbecility and as a basis for weakening the intended communication? If so, then I have no need to reiterate myself.

Even your proclaimed relevant argument bears no irritation, as per your original claim. It isn't and wasn't about standards.

  • @259 It's always been about standards: Look up semicolon usage in the Chicago Manual of Style -- one of the primary books on writing standards. And to whom would this make him look like an idiot you ask? To anyone who understands the importance of standards in communication. To anyone who has to read what he's trying to communicate and decipher where there's a full stop as if a period or a pause as if a comma. To anyone but you and one other person apparently.

  • @nexus1g No, I can definitely tell you it's never been about standards. Look up the manual again and tell me where it says that one who misuses punctuation shall be considered intellectually inept. How many people have supported your claim? None. Yet how instead show indifference? You accuse me of having a "holier-than-thou" demeanor, but who is the only one who believes himself too learned to prioritize semantics over syntax? When you can't clearly understand, then inquire, not berate.

  • @259 You can definitely tell me it's never been about standards? You can't tell me what I'm arguing for. If you're unfamiliar with at least one of the style manuals, then you just scraped by in high school and are therefore educationally inept. You may very well be an intelligent person, but intelligence without application is nothing better than being retarded.

  • @259 I don't need people to support my claim like you do. In fact, the only reason I brought up the correction was because you were wrong and nothing more. I couldn't care less about a popularity contest. Especially a popularity contest on the internet regarding the pros of using proper grammar, spelling and punctuation. I would expect to be in the vast minority on such a subject in such a forum. People like to use "it's the internet" as an excuse for their lack of education.

  • @nexus1g So now you accept to discerning how inappropriate your discourse is in a place where people should be discussing the video. They say "It's the Internet" not as an excuse, but as a way to show you that mutual communication comes before writing mechanics. Would your hubris still emerge to those whose first language wasn't English? Would your superiority complex continue to chide them and give unsolicited lectures of why their education was allegedly inferior to yours? I hope not.

  • @259 Actually, the person with whom I was speaking was speaking with me about the video. It's your dumb ass that decided to go on a crusade to protect the illiterate. So you're the one that pulled it off topic.

Yes, they say, "It's the Internet," as an excuse for not knowing the difference between "your" and "you're" or "their", "they're" and "there". When it comes to the ESL crowd, there are exceptions to be made; however, it doesn't mean they get away with grammatical murder.

  • @nexus1g I brought such extraneous matters, you say? Who was the one who started addressing a user's improper usage of semicolons? If you had the audacity to correct his writing, then you obviously understood what he meant. So what if they don't know? You previously admitted to fully understanding what he said, but yet continue to speak out of agitation concerning such trivialities.

I do this not because of them, but of you, who will not consider pragmatism before pedantry.

  • @nexus1g Yet however, when your "aside" was refuted to be meager, you throw stones from a glass house by fabricating an entire fervid rebuttal solely based such subject before I ever called you out.

I will surmise by your impulsive change of conduct and resorting to deprecations of fatuity against myself, that you no longer wish to regard what I have to assert. Any additional disquisition will likely fall on deaf ears, but I do apologize for any contempt I held against you. Farewell.

  • @nexus1g rofl at random internet trolling

  • @259 You and one other person who weren't even involved in the argument to begin with. So, again, take your attitude and shove it very, very far up your ass and let it grow cancerous.

  • @nexus1g If i use ; often, who cares? Its my damn right to use ; as often as i want.

Its not that the internet has too many ; in it that my will collapse it.

But anyway, i think Blizzard could produce "much" better games as they currently do ; the mainstream might be good for money, but i must admit (as an actual hardcore gamer), it feels problematic to lose the elements that make a game "hardcore proofed".

Sc2 is a nice game ; but the fact that it could be so much better makes me sad.

  • Personally I think that plague is underused ... think of the damage it would have done on the tanks on 16:55

  • @7heWhiteWolf Plague versus Terran is completely useless. It would just get repaired. The energy is much more efficiently used to empower his attacking units. Plague against Protoss is at least semi-useful as it can't be repaired. In fact, protoss is useless 2v2 because plague + EMP = 2 HP units.

  • Mothership: Archon toilet!

  • *HD talks about the mothership*

You know a good way to use a mothership...? When your enemy has what appears to be an IMPENETRABLE, fly your mother ship around back, and mass recall in the back of his base :)

(i did it with void rays about a month ago, and this was a 3v3, my ally's stayed back to defend, and i mass recalled about 30 void rays and 20 zealots into the back of their base, I INIALATED THREE OF THEM! HA! :3)

  • This replay needs some Robitussin.

  • Yess. HD is back with more BW.

  • Im for keeping the mothership but nerf the invisibility some. and keep recall

  • We prefer HD to cast more Brood War instead of SC2.

Thumb this shit up so HD sees it.
