  • HMS Hood had the unlucky fate of the main powder magazine catching aflame. This resulted in a catastrophic explosion which tore the ship apart. USS Arizona and the IJN Yamato had explosions that either caused the sinking or happened when the ship was sinking.

  • Omg another one that ran aground in Italy too your listm who am I. Costa Concordia

  • very touching and haunting

  • When the hood sank,One of the survivors was a mechanic i believe and he was deep inside the engine room when it exploded. He said he was lifted to the sirface in a giant air bubble and managed to escape the pull of the current created when a ship sinks.I believe he survived without any injury as well.A miracle to be sure.

  • Hes not an idiot!

  • edmund fitzgarled </3 none of you, know what she was, shes American, the state of michigan History, and she sunk in michigan in 1970's nov 10th. </3

  • can you put in the ady gil in a "lost ships" vid?

  • yeah mainly civilians

  • 9500 dead in whilhem gustolff!!!???

  • @matijasajko1 Yes,full of German civilians (women and children, young and old and injured soldiers)trying to escape the attacking red army in ww2..sunk by a russian submarine who`s skipper knew it was going to be a war crime but still did it.Terrible act of cruelty.

  • 2:00 0 survived

  • Awesome video!!!!!! If i could, i would, rate it 5 stars. BTW thanks for turning me on to Nightwish.

  • can someone please explain this to me, why was the titanic considered such a tradgety when there were ships that had more deaths and less survivors, aside from the fact that the titanic was "un-sinkable" why is it so bad compared to the rest?

  • titanic WHOO!

  • @hola0com ya the it was built for 2,000 people and they loaded about 4,000 people and when they set out

another shipload was droped off and then there was close to 10,000 people on board. :(

  • the day my mom was born the titanic sank with her grandma on it it was very sad when i figured out i was crying for weeks cause they said my great grandma died from old age but then my parents saw me watching titanic and decided to tell me the truth

  • Titanic had 705 survivors of sinking, 6 of the water so it was 711 that survived Titanic

  • team titanic

  • uss hood 3 survived omg

  • @timothyp873

Actually Hood's designation was an HMS (Her/His Majesty's Ship) the designation for a warship of the British Royal Navy

  • @snakes3425 Well, in the time it would of been His Majesty's Ship ;)

  • @snakes3425 no offense but if the hood wasnt sunk and the bismarc wasnt damaged the americans would've lost the atlantic war

  • @timothyp873 Hood was destroyed by a german warship in the hunt of Bismarck.

  • @timothyp873 Yeah, NOT for the US

  • @timothyp873 lol hood got cut in half you idiot and hes talking abaut HMS Hood

  • @timothyp873 USS HOOD......FFS!

Though... even though it sank, I WANTED TO BE ON IT ANYWAY!!! :O

  • 3:26 those are the Sullivain brothers from Iowa. there 5 of the 810 lost.

  • Bismark only lived for 9 days, Wihlem Gustloff is the Worst maritime disaster.

  • Comment removed

  • @EpicKill55 was he one of the 3 to survive

  • Comment removed

  • @EpicKill55 oh,im sorry to hear that.

  • :( I hate that the Bismarck titanic and Lusitania sank

  • mute

  • i wonder how much gold, coins, jewelry is at the bottom of the oceans?

  • a swatstika at :32

  • @scott620forlife

Yeah.. and the one painted on the stern deck is still there.... well it was in 1989 when the ship was discovered by Robert Ballard same guy who found the Titanic. There are documentaries on both searches, Bismark almost completely intact except for the big gun turrets that fell out as she sank.

  • I hate the sinkings of them boats including RMS TITANIC 

  • feel that I know nightwish lead singer in person cause of the million videos with the same song lol

  • grieving not greeving

  • 3:31

if that ship lost 9,500 people.

that means it holds more than oasis of the seas.. which is the biggest ship in the world. and that only hold 5000 people... and its .. like how much bigger.. ALOT!!

pre sure thats not true about it hold over 10,000 people....

  • @mitchdmac109

Well 9500 were lost on the Wilhelm Gustloff and there was well over 11000 on the ship. A ship may be only built for a certain amount of people, but when your country is about to be taken over by your worst enemy and that's the only way out you aren't to worried about comfort.

  • @mitchdmac109

Well 9500 were lost on the Wilhelm Gustloff and there was well over 11000 on the ship. The Gustloff was only built for about 1500 people. A ship may be only built for a certain amount of people, but when your country is about to be taken over by your worst enemy and that's the only way out you aren't to worried about comfort.

  • @mitchdmac109 The country was about to be invaded and they fled the country with well over 11000 people on it.

  • the bismark sits on the bottom of the ocean 5 miles north of the titanic hahahahaha

  • @TheGodzillarules it would be better if it was lusitania not the titanic

  • They wept for the fallen? Doesn't he want to destroy our star?

  • some of these comments remind me of a survival story, this guy was on a sinking ship, trapped in a dome (the sides where sealed with like plexi glass or something, they wouldnt budge, an officer een shot at it) and this soldier the giy was standing by had his wife and kid, and he watched as he pulled out a pistol, kissed his kids and wife goodbye, shot them, and shot himself.. and he was talking about how he could never forget about seeing the lifeless bodies in the water, i think he might hav

  • Dude it is RMS 1,800

  • nice vide

  • Im surprised you didn't include Arizona.

  • @InequaIity

I put it in lost ships II

  • @InequaIity what happened to the ss arizona?

  • @timothyp873

USS Arizona: Pennsylvania class battleship, sunk by a Japanese Torpedo Bomber at her mooring during the attack on Pearl Harbor, after a bomb penetrated her forward powder and ammunition magazines killing 1,177 of her nearly 1,400 crew members

  • @snakes3425 223 people lived if you did the math.

  • @timothyp873 Im done.

  • @timothyp873 the arizona wasn't an s.s.

  • @timothyp873 it sunk you silly cunt

  • MS Estonia, passenger ferry, Baltic Sea, 852 lost, 137 survived.

  • NICE VIDEO

  • It amazing how some people could acually live through it when the ship is sinking and live to tell the story to me I think that's just a nighmare.

  • r.i.p to all who died and may they never be forgotten

  • it kinda sad how only on 1 boat there wer more survivors than lost

  • The Bismarck is so beautiful, i hope it will be never forgotten

  • wowwww sorry but.....9.500 people lost on m/s whilhelm gustloff (3.31) ???are u sure???

  • @StaRJo86 a total of 3 ships were sunk Wilhelm Gustloff, General von Steuben, Goya. It is estimated that killed 16000-20000. This happened during the evacuation of German population from Polish territory. You can see the movie called''Gustloff, Die''(from 2008), if thou my memory serves me. my grandfather was a sailor, and talked about what was happening at sea 1940-1945. PS I'm Polish

  • @vlad18041894 Thanks a lot my friend!! :)

  • @StaRJo86

I belive its closer to 3500 lost. Still, its largest loss ever.

  • the Lousina looks like the Titanic

  • dude im a man and i cry its sad especilly the uss indianapolis that is fucin sad really sad

  • Only 3 survivors of the hood out of 1,415. Wow. Sunk by the Bismark.

  • @TheAwesomeGerman1 There are no more hood survivors, the last one died in 2008

  • Fuck Hitler 0:31

  • DKM BISHMARCK Should Sink Cuz It Killed My Great Great Father >:(

  • USS Indianopolis--that was a tragedy, 3 days the survivors floated in the sea being attacked by sharks before the rest of the USN realized it was gone. Admiral King in fury (his usual emotional state, by the way!) at the loss (so close to the end of the war) convened a military court to railroad the Indianopolis captain. King & the USN drove the captain to suicide. King's been dead for years but the USN still won't admit what was done was WRONG!

  • most of them is dead

  • Its KGM Bismarck, not DKM

  • what is the first song

  • didnt the edmund fitzgerald sink in a lake

  • the 1st one who cares its nazis

  • @ANSAirsoft are you fucking kidding me? most of the men on bismarck problay werent nazis like many in the wehrmacht, they fought for there country!

  • @foss91 why was there a nazi flag then?

  • @ANSAirsoft because it was a nazi ship but that dosent make the sailors on board nazis?

  • @foss91 well sorry i didnt kno tht

  • @ANSAirsoft hehe well now you know that ;)

  • @themarioandsonicbros No one really what happened to The Edmund Fitzgerald because there were no survivors. They think a rouge wave put her up on her end and she went straight down to the bottem like a rocket going the wrong direction. There is a museum on White Fish Point in Michigan that has a lot of information about it.

  • you sure about only 3 survivors on the HOOD?There has to of been more than 3.

  • @johnguz76

There were indeed only three survivors from Hood, the others were killed when her aft-magazine exploded, couldn't escape, or were pulled under and drowned as the ship sank

  • @snakes3425 yes its true very sad the flak mag exploded and 3 barely survived its so sad

  • @HALONUGGETS

Not so much the flak magazine the fire spread to the powder and ammunition magazines for the aft 15in guns that doomed the ship

  • @snakes3425 ya i know srry i was just trying to shortin it up but dnt wrry i know it led to the 15 in magizine .im always tellin my friend about this ship blowing up in the MAGIZINE and what buggs me is when they think its a READING magizine

  • Comment removed

  • @johnguz76

yep. Only 3 survived the hood. But in 2008 the last survivor died. Now all of the Hoods crew are dead.

  • @johnguz76 There were only 3, but the last survivor, ted briggs, died in 2008 in hospital. Bismarck and the Prinz Eugen really battered HOOD up. But like Briggs said, only 3 of the men came to the surface

  • @johnguz76 Yes, only 3 survivors. The Hood had a design flaw; the armour plating in one spot on the deck was thin; if a shell hit just right it could travel straight down into an ammunition locker and blow up the ship. Unfortunately the Royal Navy & the Exchequer (British ministry of finance) figured the risk was too small to justify the cost of armouring that spot. The Bismarck proved them wrong.

  • @johnguz76 only 3 last one died last year

  • Very interesting video. Thanks for posting. :-)

  • I live in superior wisconsin, my dad owns apartment buildings, anyways, one time in the mid 90's my dad wanted to remodel one of his buildings so he hired a carpenter, he looked like he was in his late 50s, he told us he worked on the fitzgerald and the last night befor it went out on its final voyage, he got really drunk at a bar fell asleep and didnt make back for departure on time, he said since then he never stepped on a boat, is why he became a carpenter, drinking also saves lives, lucky guy

  • @Mopar4life440 There was also some sailors that missed the Car Ferry Milwaukee because they were in a bar the night it went down off the coast of Milwaukee.

  • 1:42 JUST 3 SURVIVED!!!

  • r.i.p whilhelm gustloff

  • 1517 died on the Titanic not 1525 and 705 + 1 lived

  • Rest in Peace Bismarck and Scharnhorst

    two great legends...

I´m proud of the Bismarck and the Scharnhorst

    Rest in Peace

  • I love the music :) My papa was on the DKM Bismarck battle ship... he was one of the lost men :( he was a great man

  • Mr.snakes did know 1 or 2 rouge waves hit the edmund fitz

  • dude i know how the edmund fitzerald sank this may sound crazy but if uve heard of rouge waves trust me it got hit by one or two i heard it on the history channel on a program called rouge waves

  • MR.Snakes3425 good job.

  • my grandad was on hms matchless which helped sink the scharnhorst

  • Titanic is the most known wrek, what is the most unknown?

  • @starball23 If its the most unknown, there may never be an answer for ya. In my opinion its the ship wrecks that haven't,and may never be found

  • @starball23 Wilhelm Gustloff.

  • Why do we feel sorry for the Bismark ? It targeted our Allie Ships. I don't feel sad about its sinking

  • @haydnglv Bismark was attacked by Hood shortly after leaving her dock for her first mission bu Hood and Prince of Whales tried to intercept her, besides its best to honor any one giving their lives for their country.

  • @maricklee So your telling me you felt sorry for the german bastards who were destroying others lives?

  • @haydnglv If you think they were bastards don't know, don't really care, but I believe they had a right to the war cause of the cruel treatment they got for WWI which they never started. If that cruel treatment never accord I'm very positive WWII would never have happened. So tell me this, who is the bastards? The guys who started the war,or the guy who set things up for a war to happen, hmmmm?

  • @haydnglv man realy shut the fuck up! My Grandfahther was on the Bismarck!

They weren´t Nazis! only the SS!!!!!!!!

    They were patriots and HUMANS!!!!

They served for their country and i´m proud of the Bismarck and of the crew.

Remember the Hood, Bismarck and all the other sunken ships!

  • @haydnglv Even though the sinking of the Bismarck helped the Allies win the war, we should still give respect to anybody who has given their lives for any country.

  • yo what happened to the britannic

  • @ninjacooler1 sunk by germans. sad story.

  • @JMoney5251 No,she hit a mine near Greece,Lustanitc was the on that got torpedoed.

  • VERGESSEN DIE DKM Bismarck

  • PS SALUTIEREN MÄNNER!

  • OK DAS HAT MICH GERÜRT VON ALLEN DIE RMS Titanic DIE RMS Lustiana DIE IJN Yamato DIE HMS Hood UND VON ALLEN DIE USS Juneau!

  • MEINE HERREN SALUTIEREN BITTE!

  • the loss of the Bismark and Yamoto were the most dissapointing of losses in the war. The Bismark had a record kill rate in war and is still titled the "deadliest battleship in world history" yet it was sunk by a wing of small biplanes and the small fleet task force 3 "taffy 3"

  • OMG 1:46 3 survivors?!?

  • @FunPuff1998 yep, the only survivors were an electritian, a cook, and a gunnery officer. its sinking is in a show called dogfights. its on the history channel.

  • who cares about the nazi ships

    they should all die

  • Yeah That Stupid Nazi Battleship whatever.

  • OMGOMGOMG!!!! HMS HOOD only 3 survived of the 1418 crew!!!!!!!!OMGOMGOMG

  • @longer393 Those 3 were very lucky indeed cause as far as what I hear Hood's magazines exploded after receiving a hit from Bismark. If it hadn't been for the hit to the ship's mags more could have lived.

  • where the heck is ,,estline,,, ? over 800 dead peopel. search in youtube: estonia ship and u will found it.

  • R.I.P For the ship disasters. But not for Germans! They killed Britanic

  • @shanwei10 + they killed HMS HOOD + RMS lustina and many more!!!!!!!!!

  • @shanwei10 They did issue a warning that any and all ships would be in danger of getting sunk cause the sinking limitations for the U-boats had been lifted.

  • I love the EF 35 years :(

  • stuoid song

  • wow bro, amazing, i though nobody remembered Wilhelm nor how The Bismarck sinked the Hud ( well they do remember lol...) but the wilhelm im stunned... havent heard of it in years. Also check for SS Norway, SS Michellangelo, etc. Thnx bro

  • shit! @ 2:02 zero survivors? WTF that shit just shock me, may the Rest in Peace

  • @crisrea12345 Indeed, She went down in a storm, here is the kicker tho, they don't know what happened to sink the ship to this day.

  • i didnt see sultana in there :<

  • hey did they scrap the Olympic because they needed the money? ive always been wondering why they didnt preserve it like the Queen Mary in Long Beach

  • @sirtyeson1

It was because she was obsolete, however her scrapping did have one benefit, the town in which she was broken up had been hit hard by the Depression and when she arrived for scrapping it created much needed jobs for the town.

  • @snakes3425 i know a lot of sea captains get emotional over scrapping. captain rostron who helped save people on the titanic commanded the mauritania on its last sea voyage and when asked if he wants to stand on the board and see her get scrapped he refused saying he'd rather remember her as the great lady.

i know even the titanic's remains won't last long. the ship has been going down rapidly deeper into the ground and cracks are becoming bigger it is only a matter of time before she breaks.

  • @ultradumbass

What the iceberg began time will finish

  • @sirtyeson1. Yes they did scrap her, sadly thought. I'd really wish that I could have seen her, in real life. They basicly scrapped her because they needed the money, and because there were a big crisis, just like the one we have now. No one had work. Also they scrapped her because of a collition with another ship, and because the White Star Line, merged with their biggest rival, Cunard Line. Those that today ownes the Queen Mary, Queen Mary 2, and Queen Elisabeth.

  • How did the Edmund Fitzgerald sink?

  • You said that the SS Edmund Fitzgerald is in Lake Superion. now that's something i want to check out.

  • has anyone heard the story of the Alkimos? now ship is strange.

  • Fuck this song!!!!!!!!!!!

  • omg your men

  • id like to die at sea. getting shot at seems uninteresting. dying in a sunken ship sounds so much awesomer

  • YEAH! It would be awesomest of all to get shot in a storm at sea, and hit an iceberg or something at the same time. It would be most of all interesting if I was making out with Kate Windlass she so hot.

  • yes snakes you right, my bad.

  • @Stu44121 What is the title and the singer of this beautiful song????

  • what is kinda sad is, when they discovered the rms lusitania, they went along port side, she is laying on the aft side, and when they went along it it still had the medical service cross on it. darn germans sank a medical ship.

  • That was the Britannic, Lusitania was a passenger ship

  • @snakes3425 They both were passenger ships but Britannic had been converted into a hospital ship during WWI. They both were WWI casualties.

  • @snakes3425, the sinking of the Britannic and Gustav are clearly war crimes, the Lusitanie flew the British flag into a blockade U-Boat zone (many people beleive that Churchill and the British government tried to create some situation to draw the U.S. into the war, but the price the passengers of that poor ship was cruel).
