@1mario5555 You mean after you seen this video, or you already knew of this, & just did it in-game? Either way, I often used this method to warp to 8 also.
@SuperJacob58 Sorry for the late response :(. World 2, before the king, up top of the map screen there is a rock. Use the hammer you get from one of the wandering hammer bros to break the rock. There is a toad house(in which you usually get a frog suit, though not always), & fire hammer bros on the other side of the rock. You will also notice when playing, that sometimes after you defeat the 2 regular hammer bros, you still hear another one moving around on the map screen. Continued in reply
@EmeraldLantern2814 Also, if you use 2 whistles consecutively(back to back), you will warp yourself to World 8. Once you do however, you can not go any place else. Even blowing a third whistle will just warp you back to the World 8 pipe entrance.
@XanXan920 Yes it is. It is actually from Zelda. This borrowing would be returned, as SMB3's Sea Side(world map 3 music/bgm) would be reused for not only Zelda: A Link to the Past's File Select, & Fairy Fountains, but for all future Zeldas in the very same useages as Lttp.
@freakshow2020 Well, one of the princess' letters(before world 7) can confuse a player to believe that there is a secret hidden in world 7-3, World 3, or something else. This was actually confusing to me when I was little. This is actually referring to either the world 1-3 whistle, or the world 1 fortress whistle. Off the top of my head, the letter talks about @ the end of the third world, so I'm assuming the latter was referencing the 1-3 stage, rather than the fortress.
@s0theyflyaway You get the ability to fly by grabbing a Super Leaf, while you're Super Mario, or by using a Super Leaf/Tanooki Suit/P-Wing item. You can only use a P-Wing from the map screen. Super Leaves, & Tanooki power-ups you can obtain in some levels.
@ the end of the 1st room in the World 1 fortress, get the Leaf from the ? block, if you aren't already Raccoon Mario. Jump on the Dry Bones. Run from the side with the door to the right to charge up your flight power. Fly, up, & right.
@Alipie22 Yes, it is. The (Nes) Legend of Zelda is where the tune originated from. SMB3 re-used it. Later, Zelda would in turn re-use the World 3 map theme Seaside from SMB3, generally as the file select, & fairy fountain tunes.
i found the one in the castle and the third one on my own when i was like 5 years old playing this on snes .... and i did not understand any english at that time so the hints given in the letters of the princess where also quite "useless" to me ;D
i am a grown up now and i found out how to find the last one (1st in the vid)
@TomiAk47 You're quite welcome! I try to be here to help ppl out w/ these vids of mine. When I was younger, I stumbled upon all 3 quite by accident. I called up my friends, & told them about it. They thought it was cool, too.
@Ventuskingdomhearts Also, most of the VC games on the service are the original rom/game images. This means that the games are identical to their original cart(ridge)(, or CD in the case of Turbo CD). Anyway, this means virtually everything. However, there are titles on the VC that have been modified from their original versions, for one reason, or another. An example of this, is the Wii/DS banners in Wave Race 64, since Nintendo no longer has the Kawasaki Jet Ski license.
@Ventuskingdomhearts Sorry for the late reply, & the instructions are my fault for that one. I forgot to put in that for the 2cd whistle, after you run all the way to the right up on the ceiling, you need to enter a door. So hit the up button once all the way to the right, & you will drop into the room w/ the whistle. Once again, really sorry about the late reply, & semi-incomplete instructions for that whistle.
@EmeraldLantern2814 I can't post the link, since Utube won't allow me. Google "the mushroom kingdom". You'll find a page/site that explains this further, when you go to it's info page about SMB3.
SMB3, & OoT were both composed by Koji Kondo. The original Zelda was the 1st to use the "flute"(Zelda has the flute, while SMB3 has the whistle), & the famous sound. SMB3 later recycled the sound, & whole warp concept in general.
@Azria032 Unfortunately, you can't stay in the background for a long time. On the white block, press, & hold down on the d-pad/control pad for a few seconds. You will fall behind the block into the background. You will now notice you walk behind bushes, & things. You are not invincible while you are in this state, however. As fast as you can, make it behind the black curtain that's @ every stage end. Keep going, & you'll end up in a secret Toad's house.
1:06 the whistle sounds like the same tune in A Link to the Past when you play the flute and in Minish Cap when you play the ocarina of wind. But the weirdest part is that they all warp you to different places!
Can't speak for Minish, but the sound is the same as in (the first/original) Legend of Zelda, when you play the recorder/flute. I'm gonna record a sound ample of the flute in Lttp, & see if it's the same slowed-down, or backwards.

what's the point of having a third whistle?
waldoman7 1 year ago
@waldoman7 Actually, I was going to do a video on that. It is possible to replay some worlds utilizing the 2cd, &/or 3rd(if necessary) whistle.
For ex: You arrive @ w6, & use a whistle. You can play w5 over again. & other similar ideas apply.
I also think 3 were included, on the chance you missed one, you could get another.

3030sonic 2 years ago
Yes, this trick works in all SMB3 ver.s:
1. Both Nes ver.s(there are s for the Nes, but the 2cd only corrects grammar/text mistakes)
2. Both Super Mario Allstars, & Allstars + World
3. Super Mario Advance 4: SMB3
4. Wii Virtual Console
All of 'em. So, you're good!
EmeraldLantern2814 2 years ago
you just need the two to get in world 1

Yes, you can reach world 8 simply by getting both whistles in world 1, then using 1 while you're in the warp zone.
