So basically you proved that the 'hard to get' beers are sought after for a reason. The KBS and the Dark Lord were your #1 and #2, both of which are tough to get ahold of. Microbrew drinkers aren't stupid, and good beer is hard to find! Enjoyed the line up.
there's no way i could compare and rate that many imperial stouts without spitting (no homo). Also, a stout as an "all-season beer"?...neh i dont think so. doesn't taste as good in hot weather. ipa on the other hand.... that's all season potential
Thanks for posting. One thing that should be emphasized is the wonderful bargain that Old Razz is. I've seen it at 6-9 bucks for a for pack, while thses other ones, some of which are marginally superior, can cost 5 times more by volume, and you basically got put your kneepads on to get them. I've had all of these except the 3 Floyds and the Kentucky, and I prefer The Abyss, if money is no object, as the flat-out best of the ones I've had. Do another review of Barleywines!
you must be from western mass if BBC is your local beer. I'm from turners falls mass and have always loved BBC's beers. most of the others you tested I hadnt heard of before. rasputin, storm king, and stone imperial russian stout are the only ones I've had before. the others all look very good and I hope to try them all some day.
