what the fuck is up with "high tide low tide" shit? When its low tide you cant see the other island but theyre still there so... it should be the same whether its high tide or low tide.
The guy from Pampanga is illiterate, he doesn't know what he's talking about, he's bragging about Pampanga when he should be bragging about the Philippines
It's okay. We usually judge a person's intelligence by the way he speaks English. Now, let the English speakers speak our language...won't they also sound like a moron?
i don't have to hate pampangga from what i've heard here: "u're not a filipino if you haven't been to pampangga" something like that.. we all know that's not true, that guy could just be a real moron.
@pogsfortes hmmm.. i think what the guy meant is you need to know your own culture first. If you came from Batangas, you need to be batangueno first then filipino. Think, Peace.
Augusto definitely does not LOOK like an outsider. I've seen people born and raised in the Philippines (myself included) who look more like outsiders than him. He belongs!

Went to Angeles Pampanga last year. Horrible horrible experience. The first tricycle driver we got overcharged us for something like 150 pesos. The food was ok, but the service wasn't as advertised. Truly was an overcrowded piece of land (Angeles) and night life obviously revolves around white guys enjoying themselves at the expense of the locals. Sin City without the usual merry Vegas connotation. At least for the locals (pinoys).

No girls dancing on poles.. and by the way.. the girls that sells their bodies on the place you called sin city are not kapampangan.. try going back there and ask where they come from.. :D
Sir this year (march) we're going on a north luzon road trip. Sinama ko Angeles Pampanga as our first stop. San po yung appropriate place para sa family in the vicinity of Angeles? Yung di na po sana kami pag kakakitaan etc. Lunch po yung plan namin when we stop by Angeles. Last time kasi was a horrible experience.. lam niyo na po hehe :)
@MigueliP26 Kung gusto nyo sa may marquee mall.. maraming restaurants dun(TGIF, Brothers, etc).. from NLEX magexit lang kau sa angeles exit.. pagkaexit nyo marquee na agad hehehe.. if gusto nyo pumunta sa bayan mismo.. meron restaurant dun na tinatawag ay camalig.. as far as i know un ang oldest restaurant sa angeles.. katabi lang siya ng nepo mall along sto.rosario st.. meron din masarap na pasta sa may toll house.. along sto. rosario st din lalagpas lang kau ng holy angel univ..
@MrJustACritic Thank you sir. Masaya maglibot ng pinas, trust me, kesa punta pa iba bansa unahin niyo muna libot pinas. Dami pwede food trip. hehe. Peace out :)
yabang talaga ng mga kapangpangan akala mo sa pampanga nagrerevolve ang buong pinas. i admire him for embracing the province he grew up in but as usual sa mga kapangpangan trademark di nawawala ang yabang.
@dkoslosk tama ka dyan... actually pampanga is not really the culinary capital of the Philippines dapat somewhere south like visayan region dahil sa dami ng resources from fresh/ sea water fish and the burst of flavors... dahil lang tlga yan sa spanish culture dyan sa pampanga kya nila nasabi na sila ang kapital eh... they don't know CURACHA is hahaha...
@dkoslosk I agree, karamihan sa mga kpampangan mkasarili, mayabang, hndi pala2mang khit makaapak ng kapwa, kaiba tlga ang ugali huh?! hindi ako nani2wala dati sa sinabi ng kakilala ko but when i got to work with them.. it's true! pati mga kilala ko kapampangan n katrabaho ang sakit nila sa ulo haiz!...
@1240ps haha.. chill lang.. I know, kapampangan ako.. aminado kami na mayabang kami.. kung titignan mo on the negative side.. hambog.. mayabang self-centered.. haha pero sa side namin.. gusto lang namin i share ung mga kaya naming gawin.. pinagmamalaki lang namin na kapampangan kami.. thats all :D lets put it na we are just too proud of ourselves and we want to show that we are unique.. peace
@TheArtkaw If that's how you see us, Well yes. Because no matter how hard were gonna explain ourselves you wouldn't understand our point. Are you guys enjoying judging us?
@countroshculla --- i've been asked this question in the U.S. my take on this is that each region has different specialties. though we have dishes common to all regions like pancit, nilaga or nilat-an (in Visayan), adobo, lumpia ---but it would make our selection very limited to be patronized by all Filipinos in any region outside the Philippines for the restaurant to thrive. i do promote my Philippine cuisine my way...
@countroshculla ...try looking for a filipino restaurant or befriend some filipinos in your area. or better yet marry a filipino(a) haha! (I'm a filipina married to an american). if you were my neighbor, you will be spoiled of my Philippine delicacies. you're welcome to my country...don't forget to visit cebu, my place- where Anthony uttered his "Best Pig Ever!"
@mjtgj No Filipinos in my area at all but there might be a few in some other areas of India. I used to have a lot of Filipina chat friends and some of them were very pretty :) but nothing moved onto marriage.
@countroshculla ...who knows when you visit our country, you will be able to find the right one for you---the type that you will just be right for each other. and better yet would already have the chance to explore our place and taste our delicacies :) nice chatting with you here
This is not Filipino .This is Kapangpangan . There's a big difference between the two I guess and the cook in the last part of this video is trying to create a standard that all should be Pampango just to be Filipino.
Cebuanos, Boholanos ,Ilokanos and Bicolanos can also cook and they don't need to be a Pampango first just to know it .And all Filipinos should become a Pampango first before becoming a Filipino just to know how to cook Filipino dishes .I think not.Perhaps , those were the points of the Pampango cook that are debatable .
@Haksaengnim The Guy is trying to say that you should be your own self before becoming a Filipino. Just like Bourdain said, New York first before USA. Because he was born on New York. =)
Claude scored for his statement that filipino cuisine have been bipassed and marginalized by foreign culinary writers. WHY? because foreign culinary writers have never tasted the "real filipino cuisine" in the first place with the exception of Mr. Bourdain. Visit Luzon island and become part of the culinary journey!
this is a great episode of the phillipines..ah yes i haven't had guava version sinigang in a long time..and that fern quail egg salad looks delicious...and the rolled leaves with the quail and sauce looks good..this guy's restaurant in pampanga should be brought over here to america..cause it looks damn tasty.
