  • Haha. Now I'm studying in the US and I just wanna go back to Vietnam - my home country. Have too much ice cream, New York and dollar bills already.

  • Hey why don't you check out my version of Movie in my Mind??? Hope you guys like it X

  • dude this song is "bulls eye! " very emotional and powerful .. . they should play this in radio xD (which is iTunes now)

  • Lea Salonga and Isay Alvarez. Fkin perfect!

  • Me aged 15 singing ' I'd give my life for you' ..please let me know what you think

  • That’s awesome! It’s rare to have both vocal technique and expressiveness at the age of 15. You will go high and far.

  • When I first Heard this it was in my music class and my eyes were watering becuase its so sad and beautiful. I Love the instrumental part at 3:33. Its just such a gorgeous song and means so much to so many people.

Singing it with my lovely friend Chloe for my GCSE ensemble :')

    Thanks for posting. <3

  • It's a beautiful song indeed, it might just be the theme song of this musical and the love story in it. And it does relate to people from the same place, at the same time, and suffer the same harsh fate...

Thanks for your comment, and enjoy your singing with your friend at the ensemble!

  • @Hollyberry95 Hey Holly, I know the songs so pretty! I think I know you btw, you say you sang it with your friend Chloe, was this for yours St Gregs GCSE ensmeble? Haha, it's Ellie btw, from cantalina. Btw ( if you're not the Holly I think you are, BIG apologies!) xxxxx

  • A sad but healing mirage. I recall my USO days in Saigon, the hospital wards, 1967. This is artistry at every level. I cried. Thank you for posting.

  • @russocomedy

Those years leading to 1975 were the best for me too, at least for a 9 year old kid who had no clue about war until the fall of Saigon when my family searched in vain for a way out of the city, then dad was sent to re-education camp, and our lives started falling apart... It will always be a bittersweet memory for me.

Thanks for your comment and for your good deeds at the USO.

  • This is sooooo sad, iot shows just how much the Veitnamm girls wanted a better life, who woulndt? But it showed they ddnt care how drunk they had to make the guy, or hoiw sexily they had to dance to get the attention and the reaction they wanted, so that hopefully the guy would go back to America with them, giving them the life xxxxx its sooo sad!!! makes me cryyy!!!!! xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

  • mp3iiify is the best site to get this mp3. google mp3iiify.

  • The photos in this video make the irony of the song even more depressing. Gave you five stars!

  • What war isn't? However it's even more depressing when coupling with false hope and lost dream, and it's ironic as you've mentioned.

    Thanks for posting!

  • FYI!!!

this recording is from the original london cast... lea salonga as kim and isay alvarez as gigi..

monique wilson is mimi in the original london cast!

  • Only Lea Salonga and Jonathan Pryce are credited directly on the CD sleeve. All other singers are credited as "The Original London Cast", so I'm not so sure about Monique Wilson or others, who all did a fantastic job.

Thank you for the info. btw!!!

  • isn't the kim in the original london cast is portayed by lea salonga? and gigi was played by monique wilson but obviously gigi here is isay alvarez's voice.

  • lovely song it's a really good tune x

  • Daz! whiter than white ladies and you know it :)

  • Thanks! I didn't know Isay Alvarez played Kim though... This is a duet featuring Kim (Lea Salonga) and Gigi (Isay Alvarez). That, I guess, was in the original London cast recording. Thanks again for this vid... and you're right, the melody is haunting... can't take it off my mind once I hear it again. :)

  • hey, thanks for this vid! btw, is the music from the original London cast? Is the singer Isay Alvarez? Sounds like her... pls reply... thanks again!
