  • it only finds synths for cubase it self, for example, it can't find slylenth 1... that's the synth im trying to use... hmzz.z......

  • Jesus!!! I've been searching the net for the last 4hrs trying to find this. Finally a tutorial that is useful. Thanks man, fantastic!!! 10/10

  • *ran out of available words*...I also tried assigning all 8 quick controls to the same knob on my midi controller. When i assign different parameters within the same track to different quick controls, they don't even operate in unison at the turn of that knob. Only the one parameter in quick control slot #1 moves at the turn of the knob. any advice? Thanks!

  • Wow where has this video been all my life, I needed to know this stuff!

  • this has been helpful, thank you. But I see that Quick Controls are not track related. So if i understand it well I can only remote control 8 parameters over the whole program? Or is there another way. Let's say that i want to control 16 volume faders of the mixer, is that possible?

  • Thank you!!!

  • Awesome! Thanks man! Easy and good explained! :)

  • Thank you =)

  • Finally.... thank you dude...

  • Super explained! thanx!!

  • Thanks!

  • thanks!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Hmm im having problem with this in Cubase 5? The Insert effects doesnt appear in the list, only the MIDI-inserts :(

  • Thanks for the help, kudos!

  • 8 sluts.

  • fantastic, thanks alot buddy! just what i was looking for

  • A great tutorial! Very simple and understandable! Than you!

  • I like you. Nice and understandable tutorial! Thanks :D

  • Thanks for posting that! I even looked this function up in the manual and couldn't find it! They should really advertise this feature - it's very useful...

  • thanks' that should be posted on the product box

  • whoooaaa thanks so much!!!

  • Just a thought. I see Instrument track are used a lot here. Do you bounce them to audio before mixing down or not bother?

  • listen to my songs on my channel, I recorded in Cubase 5. if you wanna and if you like it, I can explain you how I do it :)

    anyway, thanks for video :)

  • wonder if this differs from le5 i cant have the quick control prob a stupid ass limitation for light version..

  • @bsnider0031 I don't have my controller on me right now to check this, I'll check at a later date and get back to you but I'm guessing if you put the channel through an effects channel, or group channel, you might be able to get an extra 8. Although there is probably a parameter in the control panel to change it, I'll take a look later and get back to you. Remind me if I don't! Take it easy.

  • @ElectronicIntervals ok thanks i have tried every route i rally think its the litmited in light versions just to tease u to purchase full lol, nice marketing ply amazing sofware though no question.

  • Thank you .... is there anyway i can add more quick controls? because my midi has 16 of them

  • Thanks!

  • MIDI automation in cubase 4 and 5 doesn't really work properly for anything other than slow fades. Use VST parameter automation instead, or just record midi normally (no automation lane)

More information on Audionews forum (viewtopic.php?p=685603#685603)

  • Thank you!!!

  • saved me lots of time, thanks

  • Need a hand with summet. I've made a group channel track for my kontact audio channels. They are all routed to said group channel track. I want to assign my fader to the group track, but there is no quick control tab. Anyone know why? Or how I can assign my fader to it?

  • nice one. that beats writing in the automation yourself or doing it in the software synth. thanks!

  • Nice and clearly explained - thanks.

  • Great videos. I've been messing around with Cubase for a while now and i've never used any of these features. Cant wait to try it out tomorrow morning (",). Cant wait for the next video.

  • Good one- really useful, thanks!

  • Not in Cubase SX3... :-(

  • how to program buttons only? i have digital piano not a midi controller but cubase can read 14 buttons of my piano. How can i assign a button to do something in Cubase?

  • thanks, very useful!

  • Does this only work on Audio tracks?

I don't see quick control on my VST tracks. It's not even selectable in the menu when you right click the list.

The way I work right now is I create a midi track and set the output to the VST device.

I think maybe the problem is that I'm not creating instrument tracks but i've been doing it this way since SX3.

  • Nice one. Finally it works!!!

  • is there a way to get more than 8? I have 12 faders I want to use with volume

  • @ScorchinBeats

Go to devices and press the + button in the top left corner and choose generic controller - there you go. All is possible from there on. It's not very easy to recognize how it works,so you should use the f... manual.

  • Hey there great vid dude, but in device setup where you moved the controller and they assigned, i am getting nothing!!!! any ideas what im doing wrong? it works in reason fine.

  • thanks!!! really great lesson

  • NICE, it works!! You're a diamond, been trying to figure this out for ever!! Am checking out the rest of your vids :)

  • PROBLEM: i use cubase 5. at remote devices - quick control the program doesnt see each one of the 8 knobs on my midi keyboard as a different one. which ever knob i assign by pressing Learn. i always see: Mdi channel 4 , Adress 16. PLEASE HELP ME!!

  • u ever figure this out? considering getting M-Audio Axiom pro or Novation Universal Automap if this 'Quick Control" feature bugs too many ppl...THANKS!

  • Very useful, thank you :)

  • not very helpful for people using sx3

  • Thanks a lot .. this was really good .. i have been trying to work with quick controls !:)

  • Best explanation I've had thanks

  • Cool THX man very cool!! Greetz from sicily

  • Thank you !

  • Excellent. What's neat is that the quick controls can be different for each track. Flexible.

  • you need 10 seconds in any other Daw to do that.

    Even cheap daws...

    sorry

  • Great tutorial .. been searching for this since ages .

    Thanksss :)

  • Yup never knew about the quikcontols! Thanks

  • i take it the same 8 rotarys are assignable to any track for different functions within the instrument!

  • each instrument ie channel will have indivisual inserts. a wicked vid and great tip. thanks

  • Hey I have Cubase 4 but I can't find Quick Controls anywhere?

  • Sorry for double post, found out you have to update the software, sorted it now.

  • I have Cubase 4 but I don't have the quick control function to chose from. I'm really confused.

  • I think you need to download an update form Steinberg's website for free.

  • this saved my life! i was trying to change cc numbers and all sorts - i knew there must be an easier way.

  • baah its realy fucked up, i think its not possible on miditracks. On instrument tracks it works fine

  • hey cool thanks for this, but i ve a question is there a method to display quickcontrols on miditrack automation? everytime i try this it showing nothing and ive to look in midi CC charts to find the right CC ..

  • I think you have to create a seperate midi track and route the outs of that midi track to the appropriate VST plugin you want. From that midi track you access the Quick Controls function.
