This is an obvious one for me, she cheated on him and he's not going to let her back. Basically she got drunk (tell the chemicals you call...) and she kissed someone else (but you already did with somebody else's lips...) and he is now at the point to just let fate take it's course. Great song.

I love this song for its honesty, but I would tell John, don't personalise a decision that she made without your consultation. Yes, it hurts, but it has no bearing on how you loved her. Make peace with the relationship, and heal. Lastly, there are so many things that inform extra relationships, respect her process.

yes i know and understand where you're coming from but his honesty and genuine feel is what makes him so real and different. i love and enjoy his personalized songs... thats why i keep listening. Ive come to notice that the songs he doesnt put on records are way better than the ones that are on the records.

Battle studies is being currently being tracked soo fingers crossed it will be out soon. Some of his songs from battle studies are already listed on youtube.. Heavy heart, heartbreak warfare and taking on water (which personally is my favourite of the three) if you havent already you should also check out hummingbird and tracing these are two very good songs.. that never seemed to make it onto an album. I was reading somewhere he still has over 200 half unfinished songs :S

Hurt is going to be on the next record, along with taking on water and crossroads (I think). He's said in a few interviews that it's going to be an accoustic album so we'll see how it goes.

the Trio has been making an album in their off-time for a while now, so obviously that is gonna be SRVish. as for his next solo album, i see it being a steady mixture of blues/pop/and jazz (if you've seen his cover of sinatra's "wee small hours" its incredible). cuz every album he puts out leans further away from the pop style and incorporates more blues and soul
