  • Lierre has NEVER been a vegan. She thinks vegans eat beef once a week, and shee says she herself "binged on eggs and dairy every chance" she got! She has never EVER been a vegan. She lived on a low carb starvation diet and her attitude is: because people don't plant apple seeds it is okay to kill cows, because eating soy doesn't bring back extinct species (wtf??), vegetarianism is a fraud.

Some may call this insanity. Read her book and judge for yourself!

  • I don't even have to read the book. This lady sounds like an idiot.

A vegan diet is perfectly healthy (if not healthier) as long as you don't eat garbage. She probably ate fake meat and soy ice cream alll day.

  • @Vegluv091 Read the book. It's much more than a recipe for a healthy diet.

It's about the way of life and it's effects on human organism and nature.

Don't dismiss it, until you've read it.

    Peace.

  • @Vegluv091 She also ate REAL meat. quote from book "I binged on beef every chance I got".

    She's a joke.

  • She really never does say what she ate while she was on her "vegan diet". I bet it was a bunch of soy products, grains, and cooked foods. Veganism is not about just eliminating meat and animal products, but also about adopting a truly healthy diet. To do it right, you should be getting raw leafy greens in with only a small proportion coming from cooked vegetables. Some fruits won't hurt. Eliminate sweets and processed junk as well.

  • Should we kill each other until the world population reaches 600 million?

  • Lierre Keith..lovely lady but no freak'n clue how to eat proper!

Hey, lets chop down more amazon, rape more oceans, murder more animals so we can raise our cholesterol, clog our arteries and increase our BMI!

    Increase the peace

    Go vegan! :)

  • @durianriders She was a vegan for 20 years, longer than you'll ever sustain.Don't you understand grains are bad for you?Animal fats have never been proven to clog up our arteries though they love to include that term in many a nutrition literature.

  • @ChanGengYun Not all vegans eat grains you know. or soy products. or cooked food for that reason. By the sound of it this woman ate a very unhealthy version of a vegan diet ----- a little knowledge is a dangerous thing!

  • @wishihadascreenname I'm not being rude here, I am genually curious, how can you not eat soy, grains AND be a vegan? What do you eat just veg and nuts? I say this because I try and avoid grains unless they are properly prepared, I eat meat but don't want to have too much protein so some days i don't have meat. But on these days I truly am at a loss as what to eat. If i just have veg then I'm still hungry. I do have dairy if it's unpasturised and organic and full fat, but only occasionaly.

  • @22poopoo Sounds like you're buying into the scare tactics put out by various groups, I've been down this road too. Can't eat meat, it might give me cancer. Cant eat grains, they're un natural. Can't eat dairy, its un natural. Can't eat nuts because of phytates. On and on the path goes until you go anorexic for fear of toxins in your body. If you want to go vegan, I beg you to re examine your motives for doing so. If they're fear induced, it will probably just hurt you and those around.

  • @frodosauce Haha #LOL no way, I was just curious about how they guy above eats! No I'm not thinking of going vegan! I think humans need meat, so long as it's good meat. I actually mainly follow a weston price tradition diet. As my lecturer says, tradiotional is never wrong.

  • @22poopoo Oh, sorry if my post offended you, though it was well intended I realize certain people may have interpreted it as harsh.

  • @frodosauce Hey mate, no way of course it didn't offend me, you just got me a bit wrong, that is all.

  • @22poopoo

Veggies are important, yes., but what will satisfy your hunger is fruit.

  • @ChanGengYun

I'm not a vegan. I'm not even a vegetarian. However, animal products DO clog arteries. Saturated fat remains solid at room temperature, therefore when your body breaks it down and assimilates it into the blood stream it is still solid, and can stick to the aterial walls. Animal products also contain cholesterol. I don't disagree that too many grains are bad for you, especially simple sugars, but so is too much meat. And Americans are notorious for eating too much meat.

  • @larlar It's not sure when they did that study in the 50s they included trans fats in the same catagory as saturated. it was the trans hydrogenated oils which did the damage not the saturated! People are slowly starting to realise that now...before the 50s people knew saturated fat was good for us, its just been a blip in time. We need to eat real tradition foods with traditional values. Red meat is "buolding" in traditional language. The old books say eat little of meat (not no) and lots of veg

  • @22poopoo I'm not referencing any study from the 50's. I have a degree in dietetics, and while there are meta-analyses that claim to not find a link between saturated fats and cardiovascular disease, prior studies have listed increased consumption of saturated fats as a risk factor (much more recently than the 50's). Trans fats are the worst, but the best kind of fat is the monounsaturated.

  • @larlar210 Mmm I've heard studies saying that most of the plaques causing heart disease are made from polyunsaturated oils, these turn rancid once heated such as frying. And that saturated are most stable when heating and do not go rancid thus causing problems for the body. Also what would you say about the traditional folk-lore about animal fats eg mothers giving their children teaspoons of pure lard to keep them strong. I am a proponent of weston price so so I look to traditional usage.

  • @durianriders You're doing the same if you buy plants as lands have been destroyed for the whole vegan "fad".....continue consuming soy/grains as they are destroying your body...something the vegan authors never tell you since all they care about is getting you to buy their books.

  • @durianriders you should do more research like gary taubes atkins mark sisson and have u ever seen a fat lion with clogged arteries? he eats whole zebras thats alot of meat

  • @rast123456789 Lions are natural carnivores and eat their diet raw. very different to humans eating cooked fats!

  • @wishihadascreenname thats why i loveeeee sushi

  • Nothing succeeds like success. Interesting how many so-called "experts" are wrong. Most so-called vegans and vegetarians do not follow fundamental nutrition, and then they blame their lack of wellness on a plant-based diet. Also keep in mind that "subsisting" on rice, bread or potatoes causes ill health. "Staples" are not necessarily health- promoting foods- they simply allow to survive not thrive. All rice civilizations end as their land becomes desert.

  • @RawFitChris

Yeah, and she gives absolutely no information about her diet in her book or anywhere else. She went to a Qi Gong specialist who said she would die if she didn't eat meat and then she magically deduced that veganism is what caused all her health problems, half of them apparently self-diagnosed. Diet is not that simple. Okay, she didn't eat animal products. But what exactly did she eat? She doesn't say in a book about nutrition??? I'm really skeptical.

  • Leirre is a drama queen. She likes attention. This is why she wrote a book that is completely faulty and puts herself in the spotlight. Tisk. tisk. Makes you question the sanity of someone eating too much heart clogging animal products.

  • I am hoping ALL biological males who are heterosexual (as well as bisexual) that agree with Lierre Keith will also take her advice and get vasectomies. After all, her goal is to get the world population down to 600 million. And yes, I have read the book. I will remain a vegan until people like her can abolish all factory farms and then I will even join her in the fight against industrial agriculture.

  • @queerninja666 Although you may not think it, you're view ultimately comes down to eugenics.

  • @josephjoe89 Bravo, Jo-Jo!!! (*applause*) You have made the extremely common connection between population control and Amerikkkan Nazism! Now you just need to work on your BS detector, because my "view" ultimately comes down to sarcasm. Have YOU read her book?

  • this woman is a liar! guys stay away!

  • In the past 80 Years at the OLYMPIC GAMES, more than 178 non-meat eating Athletes have Won GOLD MEDALS. Think about the genuinely cool 'Johnny Weissmuller' => FIVE Gold Medals in SWIMMING and the A-1 Best Tarzan.

MEAT, especially the way it is produced in FACTORY FARMS shortens Life Duration and Quality of LIFE. Also Non-Meating Men have a superior Sexuality.

  • @deepwater7 The olympians are not vegans they vegetarains who consume massive amounts of protien supplements made from whey and HGH. Tribes all over the African continent consumed meat with high fiber diets trust me the men in these tribes had no sexual dysfunctions at all. In Jamaica were my family is from country men in the mountains are known through out the Island for the ability to have sex for hours they consume tons of chicken and goat and tropical fruit.

  • Lierre Keith is not a credible source. She has plans outlined on her website to kill men in a holocaust fashion. I recommend people not use her as a reference or source, and please do some research. My channel has some videos explaining the issue with this lunatic woman. She is mad, and has a criminal mind. Beware.

  • Most of Ms. Keith's claims have nothing to do with veganism. For example, soy is a bad food in her view. As a multi-decade vegan, I agree and advise against eating soy, however this claim is not an argument against veganism, it's an argument against soy. Many of Ms. Keith's claims are not only in alignment with veganism but she even borrowed ideas created by the vegan movement to amazingly argue against veganism.

  • this lady is spot on. I have been screaming this stuff for a while!!! If anyone wants to be an activist and really change our world, they really need to focus on self sufficiently, and food sustainability. learn before you reply with hate. dont be offended by what she says, listen, then do your own research, and judge for yourself where the truth lays. Be open-minded, everyone believes they are right, all of our beliefs mature over time. If you have a really good point, write a book.

  • 70% of harvested crops are fed to animals. If you want to cut back on agriculture, cut back on animal products. It's a good point, but it's not worthy of a whole book so I'll just post it here.

  • @watermelonygoodness -Yes; I was looking for someone to say this - it kinda disputes all she said. I will add her on facebook and see what she has to say... :)

Another funny thing is the slip of "she's feminine - oh, no - a feminist" - exactly; 'cause you can't really be both at the same time...

  • @watermelonygoodness ur reasoning for cutting down on meat is not based on nutritional science, our bodies need meat whether u like it or not. Where does a vegan get there vitamin b12, and vitamin D (not everyone lives in Cali)? Lierre actually says bcs of extreme overpopulation on this planet the balance of nature has been disrupted, so u have farms growing grain (Lierre is anti-grain) to fatten up their animals to be able to feed the population. Cows/chickens are supposed to be pasture fed.

  • @egosurrender You can get vitamin D from the sun unless you live in the Arctic. You can also eat foods fortified with vitamins B12 and D. Or you could eat dairy and eggs from time to time, which I do, since I'm a vegetarian not a vegan. There's no reason to eat meat. I understand that vegans have a hard time attaining vitamins D and B12, but it can be done. Eliminating meat on the other hand has no negative consequences. Your body will lack no nutrients as long as you eat healthily.

  • @watermelonygoodness fortified foods? exactly, vegans need man made enriched foods because the diet doesnt contain them. Also, for 6 months we dont get enough exposure to sun because it is too cold to go out with short sleeve clothes, and in places it doesnt snow, it rains for 6 months. eliminating meat has lots of consequences, again i have to repeat myself on the basics of nutrition, no b12, no vitamin d, and no true vitamin A. Good luck eating eggs and dairy in the wild. we're meat eaters.

  • @egosurrender This isn't about vegans it's about vegetarians so maybe you should stay on topic. I never said we are "naturally" herbivores. I know we have historically been omnivores I'm not questioning that. Please stop with the pathetic straw man arguments. I believe in this thing called evolution that Darwin theorized about way back when. Meat (meaning ANIMAL FLESH NOT DAIRY OR EGGS PLEASE STAY ON THE FUCKING TOPIC) is no longer necessary and is morally and environmentally damaging.

  • @watermelonygoodness we're about 99% the same as we were 40,000 years ago, before agriculture. if there was a huge crisis tomorrow and you had to live in the wild you would have to eat meat, and/or you would have to eat fertile eggs (meat) good luck finding that, and good luck milking a wild animal. Maybe u should read her book, a huge part of it is on agriculture and how plant farming is more damaging than grass fed animal farms.

  • @egosurrender I've already explained to you that 70% of grain grown is used to feed animals. But you just don't want to hear it. Mindless fucking sheep I don't want to talk to you anymore I'm sorry. If you actually wanted to have a discussion then maybe. But you obviously don't. Goodbye.

  • @watermelonygoodness the fact that you dont think Lierre must have thought of that shows that you need to read the book. Sheep is someone who keeps themselves away from info, ive read her book, you havent, so youre the sheep right now. You have a problem with factory farming, guess what so do i and Lierre. and you're wrong about most populated countries not eating meat, Chinese eat tons of meat, and indians eat tons of grain which is horrible for the planet, worse than grass fed meat farming.

  • @egosurrender Also, overpopulation is not the reason so much grain is fed to cows. The most overpopulated countries are also the least developed, and guess what? People rarely - if ever - eat meat in such countries. Did you think everyone in the world had the same luxuries we in the West take for granted? Sorry, no. Meat consumption, factory farming in particular, is something the majority of global inhabitants do not benefit from.

  • @egosurrender Currently, more than enough produce is harvested to feed the world's population. Did you know that? As I said before, 70% of that is fed to animals in factory farms to feed the Western world. If you are anti-grain, if you think agriculture is ecological genocide, eliminating meat products is the single most effective thing you can do to free up land. If everyone did this, 70% of all agricultural genocide would end. Lierre Keith is sadly misinformed and so are you.

  • She's some kind of kook.

  • And don't forget; all our forefathers who's been eating PALEO for ages and ages and survived. Some still do today and whenever, they do not suffer from diabetes, cardiovascular disease, allergies etc. Nope siree...:) Love and Peace from Samee land...

  • Okej, this is very interesting, how people react with hatred and disgust just because one promote healthy eating the paleo style etc. Why don't you all go to Kulvinskas here on youtuber and liste to something very noteable he says in his lecture series II and III....he is really into this eskimo thing. But he's a raw vegan!? Has been for YEARS.....and still give them credit for being the healthiest people on the planet....

  • I haven't consumed animal products for over three years and feel great. I am reading Keith's book right now, and her health problems sound like they were related to more than a vegan diet.

I'm not against eating meat if you can do it sustainably, but from a strictly health point of view, does Keith know about green juices? Sprouts? Wheatgrass? Does cooked meat have the healing power of these foods?

My other question is the whole toxicity concentration higher in the food chain.

  • If the world was structured correctly instead of agriculturally it would be necessary to eat meat and the world topsoil building structure would be back in place. Vegans and especially American vegans have to eat imported (stolen) veg. Why do Inuit live healthily on 80% animal fat oh and they have great teeth. Not to mention the Masai; try looking that up.

  • How does imported mean stolen?

  • @watermelonygoodness if youve never heard of food for debt or food for oil scandals then do your research before asking that question again.

  • This is pure junk! Vegan diets can be very healthful. If this author was having hypoglycemia it wasn't from eating complex carbs as she claims! Complex carbs like whole grains + nuts or legumes is what hypoglycemics are SUPPOSED to eat!

I've been vegan for 10 years and I feel great.

This author is really crazy. Eating more meat is just going to make the world's problems worse.

  • Pure junk? What were the native American Indians... Our hunter gatherer ancestors?

Eating fish and other animals is natural and healthy. It is grand a circle of life. Yes there are some problems with Meat Mills as well as other agricultural problems

However why do you attack carnivores and omnivores?

How do you manage to grow vegetables without harming insects and small varmints?

All life is interdependent on each other to keep our world in a balanced harmony.
