Dunno what interview you guys were watching. Annoying lady? Punch her out? She hardly speaks during the entire hour! Asks pertinent questions and then zips it. Annoying laugh? Jesus, she laughs maybe half a dozen times during the interview. Sheesh, get a life! Loved the deconstruction of his songs. Not his best song but wow, never expected to hear a master song writer be so open. This comes in part from the lady's fantastic interview technique. Loved every second of the interview. :-)
I dont understand how he can say his early stuff is horrible. His early songs say from 64 to 69 are incredible timeless classics and way better by far than his later songs.
It must make you feel like crap when you're in front of an important guest, and you realize the very first question you asked is embarassingly lame.
When you're interviewing a truly great person, think simple, think humble. As they do, and that's why they're great. I agree the host is a bit irritating. Paul Simon is Great.
Paul Simon's and Mark Knopfler music has been the soundtrack to my 22 years of life so far. I really hope at some point they both get together and write an album together, although I'm pretty sure this will never happen. I can always hope :)
Oh, and if you're really interested, watch the other 6 parts and than judge!!
Paul's just talking for an hour, he didn't need an interviewer at all I guess!! it's not one on one!!! It's just ONE!!! Paul just made this HIS OWN show!! THE ONLY LIVING BOY IN NEW YORK....
whaha, stop irritating about this kind of senile standard "OH MY GOSH!!!" cliché American tv woman... I'm not irritated by her at all!! It actually makes me laugh
to see that whatever she tries to ask, she's got no point at all in Paul's vision...
Listen to Paul please, why do the negative reactions on the interviewer get more attention than what Paul has to tell?? Is it maybe because most people don't understand what Paul's talking about at all??? Than please don't comment!!
I can't stand interviewers who's first question is "What's it like.....?" I heard her ask that and cringed. I'm glad Paul answered the way he did. He knew right then and there he was dealing with a true amateur.
His music so represents what is an obvious life long search for true spirituality, meaning and purpose. Life is a landscape for him and he sings and writes about it as well as anyone. He has put his journey to music and we get to share it.
!Que anciano tan simpatico! Es perceptible que Paul Simon no es arrogante y idiota como muchos en el medio artistico. Es un señor gentil, amable y muy bien humorado. Que Dios regalle a ello con mucho más años de vida.
Simon, I am a new Barnes & Nobles member. I am sure to buy your materials from that store from now on.. My sister & I are your long time loyal fans. We love you & Art.
agree, we want to listen to his story and beautiful voice,he always comes across to me as someone who doesn't really get how awesome he is to us all, just love him
Paul Simon is awesome. This Lady is narcissistic, irritating, annoying and try's to show how clever she is. Her laugh will peel paint off the walls. I'm glad Paul did most of the talking because his story is so great to hear.
@herbiesnerd STOP JUDGING ABOUT THAT WOMAN!! This is not about her at all! She's just sitting there getting payed, but at least she shuts her mouth and let Paul speak on, without interrupting him time after time...
She might be annoying etc. etc.; but if she wouldn't be that kind of senile housewife, probably you never heard all those great, brilljant things Paul has to tell, and he takes the opportunity to keep on telling and
telling, because the lady just can't add anything important...
Her voice is hyper-nasal and dreadful sounding to the point where she is a distraction. Sad that such a brilliant musician had to endure such a tedious and incapable interviewer.
Thank you very much for publishing this "Dangling Conversation" with the great Paul Simon. My whole life I was/am so impressed from the work of this man that it was a MUST for me to publish my own song about him and his work here on youtube, but unfortunately in a poor quality. I thank you once again ! Of course 5 stars ! Cheers, Professor Matzko
@tramsay1027 I kinda want to give her a big hug and say thanks for NOT interrupting Paul. I learned more about Paul Simon in this than in any other "interview." Who'd have thunk it--and interviewer wh actually lets the guy say what he wants to say in his own was, at his own tempo, and opens up about himself and his music so much?
Not many. Most people don't get the chance to say more than three sentences before they get interrupted.
@tramsay1027 I wonder how many times he has been interviewed by absolute shitheads he would love to punch in the face haha hard to imagine it actually happening but i bet he does
who's the criminal who wrote such horrible presentation? I mean, not only is horrible, she has to read to remember what Simon wrote...for godness sake next time hire ME!
Paul Simon is a wanker for making a musical about a murdering thug. I just saw the gruesome crime scene photos of the so-called "Capeman's" victims. Those poor lads never stood a chance and were brutally and savagely murdered by Salvador Argon. I wonder how Simon would feel if he had a 16-year-old son who was viciously murdered & some smug little arsehole wrote a musical about them? I'm surprised Simon didn't actually go to those boys' graves and kick over their headstones for an encore.Scum.
Are you serious? What's the difference with other artists making films and theatre on killers and mass-murderers????? There are thousands of them. Did Simon say in his musical that he approved of the murders???
Where will you draw the line? I would not judge so fast. You might consider thinking first. A very poor comment!
That woman is not fit to interview a legend like Paul Simon :-D

This man is a true genius. Still he sounds so humble.... Still with a glimpse of wonder how it all developed to this great legacy he made.
