  • I don't think this appeared on any of his original albums, it's a shame cause it's so great. He's such a great songwriter it's almost a throwaway to him, others it would be a signature song. The melody was later co opted by Eric Carmen for I Want to Hear it From Your Lips which was a big hit in the 80's. If there was any justice Bruce's original Fire would have been a top 10 hit.

  • The glee version has its perks, but nothing is better than Bruce :D

  • Glee ? Bieber ? Go die MF's.

  • @BoneVomiter c'mon, there's room for ev'rybdy to sing it! Indulge!

  • just simply orgasmic ooh yeahhhh

  • the first time the bass line comes through doesnt he fuck it up? lol

  • gosh! sexually frustrating!

  • Es el mejor de los mejores, haya, donde los haya...y olé.

  • You are the BOSS, Bruce :-))

  • Mmmmm...he is dead sexy...no question about it...THE BOSS still got it!!!!

  • Great!

  • @djcrux75 think its by the pointer sisters

  • @Mr1deful the song is written by bruce springsteen. he wanted to give elvis prisley to sing but elvis died. after elvis death he gave it to the pointing sisters

  • @MaRiOs0888 oh yeah ? interesting

  • @chicococoy thanks, that's the one....

  • @djcrux75 it may be Glee

  • I like this verson better. Why did they choose such duller versions for the Promise? THe other studio outtakes on youtube sound better than th eversions chosen for other songs on the Promise

  • THis song awesome! Classic BOSS is written all over it! Why was it taken out of Darkness On The Edge of Town?

  • love U Bruce

  • That Jersey Boy has everything. Oh, Boy, do sing it!

  • i get chills listening to this :)

  • I like the live version better.

  • @treavioli Agreed, I liked the live version better too.

  • 4 people say they don't like it but baby I know they are lying...

  • this is not Bruce!! only live exist........

  • @melvisbouvey Yes, it is Bruce - this was recorded during the Darkness sessions. Bruce addicts will have bootlegs of the "Lost Masters", which are a collection of studio outtakes of songs that made the final cut on the album, and a lot that didn't. Bruce wrote this song with the intention of giving it to Elvis, therefore he must have written the song sometime between 1976 and 1977.

  • DOUBLE LIKE? i really wanna sing this to my gf

  • uh-huh-huh indeed Brucie !

Neat tenor solo from Clarence as well .

  • If you think glee's version is better then shame on you.

  • @maaallful retard

  • I heared this song in the radio and it was fucking good, but now I'm searching around but they all are shitty :D

  • where'd u find this version? this isnt the version from the promise

  • @TheJohnny990 This is from the "Lost Masters" collection. I have it, among many other gems that simply never got released.

  • Wow. Sexy much? Fantastic tune!

  • Yeah! We got a winner Bob! :)

  • goldenbear, Robert Gordon (sounding a lot like Elvis) was the first to release a version of this song. Check it out.

  • @romanticandperky if he released it he didn't right it because Springsteen said in an interview that he wrote it for Elvis

  • Live version is better his using an acoustic guitar.

  • very cool :) although I do like the live version better. But the studio version is catchy.

  • Comment removed

  • Wow, I can definitely see how this was written for Elvis!

  • @lbr218 I would unload my bank account to hear the Big E roar this one out! I love The Boss and Elivis. Elivis taught mankind lessons that we'll never forget.

  • kizzzzzz me hunk

  • I prefer the live version, Bruce is such a good live performer, the live versions are way better than the studio versions.

  • hmm Elvis?

  • @heartpumpsdeisel

I thought I read somewhere that Bruce I had written this song with Elvis in mind and even was going to send it to Elvis to record. Unfortunately, Elvis died before that could happen.

That would have been great had Elvis recorded it.

  • @goldenbear1986 ohhh ok thanks, yah that makes a lot of sense if that is the case haha still good song tho!

  • wow, okay, i listened to the live version first and it blew me away. i think i really prefer listening to bruce's insanely sexual live performance.

    still an ace song.

  • answer to it all xxxxx

  • oh my God! he was fabulous! what a voice and what a presence!

  • also pls upload fire by babyface... a little kinda emote.

  • @MichelleJHunter yeah... took me months to work out how he sings... I suggest song lyric websites lol, for the most part it is well worth working out what he's saying :)

  • @silverfencer okay, thanks! i mean i know the words from the glee version which i listen to 24/7.. but i wanted to hear the original and it's kind of different, but i like it :)

  • hottyyyyy

  • Where you download studio version?

  • @Zarina495 maybe with the youtube downloader?

  • @RuudOoij2, i ask about mp3. I can download video, but i need song without video.

  • Mmmmm~ <3<3<3

  • @stepheyrocks it might be on the new reissue of Darkness on the Edge of town that is coming out in the fall

  • @blakevickrey thanks, sorry it took me so long to reply. I was away for three weeks with no internet access what so ever. Hm...thanks im like not actaully looking to buy it just more like find it online

  • yes, Bruce, we're on fire too. very good song :)

  • damn hot

  • so damn sexy

  • @r4dgrl indeed: extremly sexy ;)

  • Awesome!!

  • I always heard he wrote this for Elvis, but he is actually singing it like Elvis. Great find.

  • @woodsideCraig I think this is the first time I've heard the studio version. You are right, he is definitely singing this like Elvis. On the live versions that I've heard he seems to give it a more Sam Cooke sound. Personally, I like the live versions more but this one is interesting.

  • YES! Finally!! thank you so much :D

  • FINNALLY! someone who has this video! thank u!

  • yes sur???
