I'd wager anything that if they showed this nowadays on Ceebeebies or something, some idiot parent would get it banned for promoting obesetey to kids!

Or some stupid kid would try sitting in a fire to be like Idris the Dragon and their parents would blame TV instead of themselves for not teaching their kids some common sense!

My local chippy owner know me very well, he still wraps mine in newspaper and bags it up to hide it.

The newspaper gives it a proper smell and taste. god bless the man!

The health reason for banning it was based on the fact that newspaper inks were sometimes mixed with urine as a fixing agent..

That died out decades before the ban. health and safety agency= fun police

This was my favourite show when I was a nipper in the later 70's. Thomas the tank Engine is nothing compared to Ivor :)
