Chris is an unknown genius. Was so fortunate to have seen him live in a small intimate venue, the defunct Rainbow Music Hall in Denver. That was 1978, and

I recorded this LP on tape from a friend more than 25 years ago and still I have it. One of the best albums ever. Plus Sonic Youth's Day Dream Nation, TANK's Filth Hounds of Hades, Pink Floyd's The Wall, AC/DC Back in Black, The Police's Reggatta, etc...
Spedding's 'HURT' is one of the best albums, perfect songs, great production. Not many of us were listening to it in '77. Loved Roxy too and ENO too and Cale too and Patti Smith too but this Spedding album just didn't get around enough.
Good ol' rock 'n' roll! Though I usually do prefer it's later complexities and evolution, got to respect the original roots. (Yes, I know its roots go back before Billy H and even T-Bone, I'm talking 'bout just R 'n' R itself!). Keep on keeping on.... ;-j
Actually, I like it better than Bo Diddley's.

I've worshipped this great LP from day one. Hard to believe it emerged in the Frampton era.

C'mon now, why wasn't this cut better known
This is F'ing great, OK so the guitar is simple
yeah it is, but very, very effective. You see Chris is the type of player that could have played fast, screaming solos, but he didn't,
Thereby making it sound much better.
The sound on this is as good as anything The Beatles recorded on this type of straight forward 4/4 rock beat, think, Day Tripper.
