  • Actually, I like it better than Bo Diddley's.

  • Can someone tell me why I have never heard of this guy?didnt he get airplay in th u.s.?

  • @radagast65 No because he played a lot with Bryan Ferry/Roxy Music..

  • i was hoping this was gonna be his version of RR by Jonathan Richman. bummer.

  • Msldenver, WHAT?

  • Meh on this. I did know Chris though, nice fellow.

  • Chris is an unknown genius. Was so fortunate to have seen him live in a small intimate venue, the defunct Rainbow Music Hall in Denver. That was 1978, and

his guitar still resonates in my soul.

  • @msldenver your so right, this guy is a genius. always loved his guitar playing

  • @msldenver

    Unknown !?! To who !!!

  • I've worshipped this great LP from day one. Hard to believe it emerged in the Frampton era.

  • Hurt=best Speddin LP.We still play a tune or 2 in our gigs.Wil wil woman &Roadrunner

    tnx 4 posting

    In memory of Link Wray.

  • @PAULLONDEN you're right. Every single song is a totally different world by itself

    ♫♫♫♫♫♫♫♫♫♫

  • I recorded this LP on tape from a friend more than 25 years ago and still I have it. One of the best albums ever. Plus Sonic Youth's Day Dream Nation, TANK's Filth Hounds of Hades, Pink Floyd's The Wall, AC/DC Back in Black, The Police's Reggatta, etc...

  • Thank you. I've been missing this.

  • Spedding's 'HURT' is one of the best albums, perfect songs, great production. Not many of us were listening to it in '77. Loved Roxy too and ENO too and Cale too and Patti Smith too but this Spedding album just didn't get around enough.

  • Good ol' rock 'n' roll! Though I usually do prefer it's later complexities and evolution, got to respect the original roots. (Yes, I know its roots go back before Billy H and even T-Bone, I'm talking 'bout just R 'n' R itself!). Keep on keeping on.... ;-j

  • C'mon now, why wasn't this cut better known

This is F'ing great, OK so the guitar is simple

yeah it is, but very, very effective. You see Chris is the type of player that could have played fast, screaming solos, but he didn't,

Thereby making it sound much better.

The sound on this is as good as anything The Beatles recorded on this type of straight forward 4/4 rock beat, think, Day Tripper.
