@technogearhead Ray Mears (the World's #1 authority on First Nations living) also uses a camera crew and Native guide and I 100% guarantee he could survive any area of this earth better than any other single human being. Using a Native guide is inportant because more than 90% of humans have lost the knowledge of HOW to live in harmony with nature and sadly there are few left that still practice said methods.
shelter is too big. Too much open space. You would freeze to death. The inside space has to be smaller in order to keep you insulated. Don't they ever do their homework? That's why you can't believe everything you see on tv folks.
cool :) I slept in a as well, and it wasnt even that cold. What was real funny was that you almost couldnt hear one another. But we didn't sleep in it alone, but with 5 people (kay, children). The snow wasnt high like here so we built a snowmountain first :P and then we dug ourselfs in. But it was real awesome :D. Just make sure to close your entrance ^^ not with snow but something. And dont lay on the snow..!
i liked how he taught how to make the figure four deadfall trap ( squirrel trap) but i didnt like the hobo fishing thing. i was hoping to find more of a survival with nothing way to fish instead of having fishing hook and fishing string...
he wasnt to bad just wished he was more survive with nature such as the squirrel trap was
to everyone who's saying he's just showing what can be done...yes he is, but he's showing improper things that are unsafe, he has medical attention right around the corner so he can afford to do things like drink pooh water and eat random crap without thinking, not that he's fake, he just isn't showing what you should be learning...read a survival book it'll teach the real deal, watch man vs wild for entertainment
Why do people mock him and say hes a fake, this isnt called 'Put a man alone in the wild and see him survive' hes sharing techniques hes learnt. In the final cut their going to show images that looks the best and their going to need to keep him healthy so he can do what he needs to. At the end of the day the guy can survive on his own, hes doesnt need a camera crew to prove this, so stop giving him a hard time.
He seems motivated to learn and share survival skills. Can't bash a guy for wanting to learn. His debris hut shelter looked a lot different than the one put out in the videos by Maine Primitive Skills School. Perhaps the man was just in a warmer climate?
would i be right in saying that you would build the shelter first, so that you can keep fire wood dry, and yourself, not at the end of the day, when your'e tired... just a thought
True if you wanted to live in the wilderness but his shows are presumed that you are deposited into the wild by some unforseen event so you would wish to move toward civilization rather than hunker down. Now if you have to hunker down the quality of your dwelling would be expected to be more durable and comfortable but on the move you build with your last hours of the day cooking what you have scrounged up that day. Also where you are stranded has a lot to do with your survival strategy.
What Texture Pack is this?

not to mention the baggage carriers that carry several of his clothing, all of which are identical to what he wears at the start of the show.
I found this out after he was soaking wet one second and in the next frame he was dry.
